«What a wonderful first stay we had! Lovely greeting and check in to our room which was beautiful and so clean. Breakfast was incredible! I ordered the avocado on toast 3 mornings in a row! Kevin and Tracey were fantastic, always on hand if needed. The area is beautiful and the street was very quiet when we were here. Great walks, even in the rain we had it didn’t spoil a thing. The car park was super handy as we drove, very safe and only a 3 minute walk away. We would most definitely return and ...

«Very pretty country location. The rooms including common rooms were all lovely. The tiny bathrooms were cramped and windowless and let the property down. Breakfasts were lovely, with lots of choice. We didn’t have dinner there, as prices were over the top, compared with what we were paying in other locations on our trip around the UK. »

«Lovely guest house located more or less centrally between the town centre and lake Windemere with just a few minutes walk to either. The standard of accommodation was first class and the service equally as good. We were in a standard double room on the second floor with Velux windows allowing great views to the front. The road at the front of the guest house is busy and noisy at times particularly with the windows open. »

«had a lovely stay at the Waterwheel with my husband - an excellent guest-house right in the centre of Ambleside, but still quiet and peaceful. Our room was clean and comfortable with some nice touches such as homemade flapjacks and a glass of port. the service was fantastic and were made to feel very welcome from the moment we arrived. a parking permit for the local car park was also a great bonus. we will definitely stay again next time we are in the Lakes»

«Really good cottage only about 2 mins walk from centre of Ambleside. Had everything you need for a nice simple stay in the lakes. Great views from the front room over the hills. They’ve just had a car parking space put in which is very handy. Great communication with owner throughout. Would definitely come back.»

«This was a lovely space for our family of 4. The kitchen was generally well-equipped. Beds were warm and comfy. Check-in and parking instructions etc were clear. It was a good base for our Lakes adventure.»
