In the hellenistic period, Amasya IO.333 IO.use as capital belonging to the 26th king of pontus king rock tombs, Harsena the southern slopes of the mountain limestone was carved out in the rocks.
Beautiful city in Central Turkey with lots of things to see. Clock Tower, nice riverbank, mosque, tombs of kings and on the top rock above city is the big fort called Amasya Kalesi. Very recommended stopover for one or two days. #turkey #amasya #architecture
