«Not a 5 star hotel, but great location in Oxford street and good food in the restaurant. 10 minutes walk to the cruise terminal. Prepare for some serious stairs to climb to access your room, but the staff will offer to carry your luggage if needed. Popular bar in the weekends. Small rooms with all you need for short stays.»

«Could hear the neighbour’s phone. Not just the neighbour talking but the sound of the person in the other end! Bad hotel experience.»

«Such a comfortable place to stay. Although small, the room has everything needed including fresh milk and water. We stated for two nights and we returned to find fresh towels and milk and water refreshed. Staff were friendly too. Great stay.»

«Location excellent and the staff were all excellent too. I personally found the breakfast disappointing as there was a watery residue from the mushrooms and poached egg which made the plate watery. This did not live up to my expectations from reading previous reviews of the breakfast. »

«Gammelt hotell med knirkete gulv og masse historie i veggene. Rom vendt mot High street, men det var ikke spesielt bråkete av den grunn. Hører naboens knirkete gulv meget godt. Personalet hyggelig nok, men de mangler litt på service og stresser på feil måte. Han som viste meg hvor rommet var (mange trapper og smale ganger)holdt ikke en gang dørene oppe for meg som bar bagasjen selv. Maten i restauranten var veldig engelsk, med smeltet cheddar og bacon på nesten alt. Frokosten hadde standard ...

«As soon as we artived the owner met us and took us ti our topm. Explained the entry procedure. The room was quite basic but clean and comfortable and more than acceptable for the price of the accomodation. The only slight doenside we were led to believe there was a bar and food but it is currently being reurbushed.»

The staff were friendly and efficient and not only seemed to really care about guests but also about each other - they appeared to have the right sort of rapport with each other, making everything run very smoothly.»

«Stayed two nights for a long weekend, perched on the edge of Highclere Castle for our visit. Quite close to the A34, but even though our room was on that side we had no traffic noise. Nice little room upstairs in the cottage next door. Breakfast was included and that was excellent. Also had two evening meals, sample photos attached. Chef is very talented. Would happily return.»

«It’s the little things that make a big difference. I was thrilled to see all products in the bathroom were animal friendly you should use that as an USP. Also a decent amount of milk & teabags. I would happily stay here again.»

«We booked for an overnight stay at a wedding. Room was beautiful, attached to a lovely pub, and the breakfast was superb as well. The best part of the stay, however, was the lovely staff! Friendly and helpful - they delayed breakfast for half an hour because my husband was stuck in traffic. Thank you for a fantastic stay»
