«I enjoyed the summer at this very nice country cottage. The home is very clean and comfortable and had all the amenities needed for my stay. The area is safe and quiet. The farms on either side had cattle that I enjoyed watching and getting to know their habits. I made friends with some of the cows by feeding them carrots and apples every day. The neighbors were awesome and made feel at home, I will miss them. I highly recommend “Walter & Mae’s Farmhouse”. »

«We loved being here and hope to return one day. It was a perfect getaway in a perfect location at the beginning of the Virginia Creeper Trail.The farmhouse was great with nice hot showers, outside fire pit and grill, plenty of games, TV, towels , relaxing porches, night time stars, and room to relax. We saw plenty of deer in our brief time there . Communication with the owner was easy as we both texted and called. Access to the wild ponies at Grayson Highlands and the views on Whitetop were ...

«As soon as you pull in you are greeted by a beautiful willow tree. The property is just amazing, from the trout stream to the house. Oh my, the house, it is picturesque, it should be featured in a magazine. It is the cleanest vacation rental house we have stayed in. A big plus, just a short drive to Watauga lake. The host, Gary, is super friendly. We can’t wait to come back!»
