«My stay at the Grand Hotel Villa Castagnola Lugano was one of the best Hotel experiences I have ever had. My room was exquisite especially my gorgeous balcony with fabulous views of Lake Lugano. «Everthing was perfect except for the unreasonable high price level of food, drinks etc. 8 EUR for a small bottle of water and 22 EUR for a drink is unfair. Great that you can rent a boat for self driving at the hotel, swimming pool is perfect and the service level of the staff is great, but as expected in this price category.»

«This hotel is a genteel haven of tranquility. The staff were uniformly lovely and helpful. Breakfast was truly wonderful - no wonder people were taking photos of it! The coffee was amazing and the service impeccable. If I had had more time, I would have spent hours in the breakfast room alone.»

«Checkin was quick and easy! Some problems with the room key, but this was quickly fixed. Our room M10 was at the end of the corridor and some times during the day it was a bit noisy due to traffic in and out of the hotel. But the service of the hotel staff is top notch. The piano bar is truly "wunderbar" The food is also great! The shuttle service was very handy and a great offer! All in all a great stay at this wunderful mansion»

«All in all a very pleasant stay. The staff is super helpful and can actually speak english, which is uncommon in Italy. The room was always very clean and since there are no more than 18 rooms, it was a quite and peacefull place to stay. Cons: The location is a little random. Then again, it is nice to be on a holiday without any tourists around you. It's certainly a very "local" neighbouthood. Another problem was that the Aircondition did not work very well.
