First of all, the house wasn't marked very well. If you miss your cabin, you are backing down a gravel road with a cliff on one side. Very scary if you're not used to the roads. I definitely do not recommend trying to find the house in the dark.
Most importantly, the house was filthy. There was a paper on the toilet seats showing that it had been sanitized, but the toilets had not been cleaned and there was hair all over the backs of the seats. The carpets were filthy and stained. There was an inch of dust and dirt on everything in the house. Anything that we used in the kitchen had to be thoroughly scrubbed before using and things were just thrown in any cabinet. Every cabinet was full of food crumbs and dirt. Considering the amount of the cleaning fee for a weekend stay, the house needs a thorough cleaning and organizing of the items in the cabinets. The hot tub is set to not exceed 99 degrees. If you looking to hang and relax on a cool night, 99 degrees is not very warm.
The cabin is advertised as having a beautiful view of Beech Mountain. The surrounding trees are so high that you could not see anything. You can see Beech Mountain from the cloudy window on the 3rd floor if you look closely.
With all the extra fees and taxes, the total came to almost 2 1/2 times the daily amount advertised. If we had a choice and had not been there for a family funeral, I would never ever pay this much for a dirty cabin in a not so desirable area.
