Welcome to the relaxing neighborhood of Harbor Island at Wrightsville Beach and Mr Frog's Figs & Ferns Cottage!

This furnished street level cottage is located in an exclusive neighborhood quietly tucked just a stroll away from the hustle & bustle of the WB strip and it's beautiful white sandy beaches. The narrow 1-way street of North Channel is a favorite for walkers, cyclists and neighbors to stop, chat and catch up on the day's activities. Our home is one of the few remaining classic cottages built in the 1940's, but updated with all the modern conveniences we enjoy. And it's one of the only solar powered homes at Wrightsville Beach that generates enough power to totally offset it's carbon footprint, along with some of our neighbors too!

The 1st floor 800 sqft 2 bed 1 bath (+ outdoor shower) offers a large living room, newly renovated bathroom, full kitchen, full size fridge, Keurig, flat screen Smart TV, fiber optic internet, washer/dryer, 2 full size beds + 1 twin pull-out sofa. Out back you’ll encounter one of the largest lush green yards in the neighborhood with a wonderful "open to the stars" hot outdoor shower, mature landscape, Zen gazebo for Yoga or quiet meditation, gas bar-b-que grill and a paddle board available for our guest's water adventures. We even have a Fire pit for those cooler evenings as well!

This beach cottage is also the perfect starting point to your Island adventure! Right across the street, the Island's most pristine public access to Banks Channel offers you endless paddle boarding, swimming & kayaking opportunities from a sandy beach just 30 steps from your door.

At the end of the street, you’ll find the WB Loop, a 2.5 mile scenic trail. It is a well-loved treasure that offers a walking or jogging experience you won’t find anywhere else. Feel at home with a morning run or stroll as you enjoy views of the Intracoastal Waterway (ICW), Banks Channel, shady live oaks and beautiful salt marshes as you make your way around this awesome path. While always active but never crowded, it is sure to inspire you to move! Want a different mode of transportation? Bike rentals are just a 5 min walk over the Causeway bridge!

Beautiful WB Park, less than 1/2 mile away, offers 3 tennis & 9 pickleball courts, basketball, volleyball, kids play equipment, obstacle course equipment, or fields for whatever you prefer. From May-Oct, every Monday the park hosts a FARMERS MARKET Mondays 8 am - 1 pm.

All the fun at the beach making you hungry? Within a 10 min walk you have a selection of the best coffee shops, restaurants, Ice Cream & Frozen Custard at the beach ~ The Workshop, Drift Coffee, Tower 7 Tex-Mex, South Beach Grill fresh catch, Poe’s, Zeke’s Beans & Bowls and Kohl's Custard. Interested in some local craft beer? Flying Machine Brewery/Restaurant is a 5 min walk and Light House Beer & Wine is just down the street!

We always like our guests to know that this is a duplex and that if you have any questions, concerns or need suggestions, we live right upstairs! Our family will do our best to make sure you enjoy your stay as much as we enjoy living in this special beach home.

This was our second time staying at the beach cottage and we loved even more. The proximity to the beach and walking “the loop” was exactly what we needed to relax. Don and Trish were wonderful hosts and very accommodating. We would 100% stay here again!

Lovely cottage, welcoming hosts

A charming home in a lovely neighborhood close enough to walk to the beach, yet far enough from the crowds to enjoy quiet walks on the treelined streets of Harbor Island. The rental, which offered everything we needed for our weeklong stay, is on the lower level of a two story home. Owners Trish and Dan live above, gracious hosts who respect the privacy of their guests. They've provided the setting for a perfect getaway.

Just an R&R trip

Small but lovely. Had everything we needed to stay a few days and enjoy the beach. Trish was very pleasant and helpful. Also enjoyed a wonderful meal at Waterman's Brewery - food was delicious!

Perfect for Fall Getaway

Perfect and adorable house for a Fall long weekend. We walked to the beach and ice cream stand, just over the causeway and swam in the channel across the street from the house. Beds were so comfortable and Kitchen was well equipped and had more than enough storage. Outdoor shower was a nice surprise. Don and Trish are the perfect hosts. We will definitely be back!

Cozy, tucked away cottage

This is a well-maintained, thoughtful property that the hosts clearly care about. The first floor of the house and the grounds are both well taken care of and the hosts are nearby if needed, but have a light touch so you can enjoy your privacy. It's a lot of fun to stay in a neighborhood on Wrightsville rather than one of the commercial properties, and I enjoyed being able to walk to the beach and not have to pay for parking.

Great cottage

This cottage is as described. It was super clean upon arrival, which is always a huge bonus! The inter coastal water access point is only steps away and a great place to sit if you are not up for a beach day. The beach is super close as well. The cottage was comfortable for the 2 adult couples on this trip. The cottage is within walking distance to restaurants. The owners were gracious and accommodating. The owners were easy to contact and communication was a breeze. They offered wood for the outdoor fire pit but unfortunately we didn’t have time to sit by the fire. We will definitely visit again! Highly recommend!

Great stay

I appreciated this quiet neighborhood & peaceful place to stay while visiting family. It was nice to walk over the bridge & get to the beach in just a short amount of time. The space is good for relaxing & has a little patio area with an Adirondack chair which I enjoyed for morning coffee. I would recommend this place!

Adorable Bungalow

My friend and I really enjoyed our stayed! This is an incredibly cute and comfortable beach bungalow. It was everything we needed and I absolutely loved the outdoor shower. The hosts were amazing and really sweet. Would love to stay here again in the future!

Great Stay on Harbor Island

This place was just as advertised. In a quiet neighborhood but a short walk to the beach. Channel access right across the street is so convenient. Hosts were on site and easily accessible by text but not intrusive. Very helpful and generous with their knowledge and extras (beach chairs/paddle boards). There were only 2 of us but it would be ok for a small family or 2 couples. Only suggestion would be to add a mirror in one of the bedrooms. Would definitely recommend this rental.

Cottage at Wrightsville Beach

The beach cottage was perfect for us. It was only about a five minute walk to restaurants and the beach. Although we only used the kitchen for breakfast it had everything we needed to cook a meal. Comfy bed, quiet neighborhood, and super friendly hosts. We would definitely stay again.

sweet stay tucked away from the fray

This is a sweet little cottage in a more residential part of Wrightsville Beach. You feel you are apart of a neighborhood vs. staying among tourists. Everything was as described; our expectations were met. I particularly appreciated the cleanliness, and personal touches -beautiful furnishings, lamps, local artwork, and good books to read- which helped me to feel I was staying in a place where someone had really taken the time and care to curate a thoughtful experience for their guests. We also appreciated the ease of our unexpectedly late night check-in (and the endless supply of morning coffee, mahalo!!) after a particularly grueling 2 days of travel full of delays. Overall, Trish and Don were friendly, responsive and super helpful- just what you'd want from VRBO hosts.

If you can't live in Wrightsville Beach, at least you can feel like it for a few days!

The hubby arrived before I did and this was his message to me... "I think this will be great spot for our base next few days! Thanks for finding us a good VRBO!!!!" That just about sums it up. Plenty of space to safely store the SUP, and spread out a bit... it's a small place but we didn't feel cramped. And that's saying a lot because we brought my mom with us! We walked over the bridge to dinner, for ice cream and to watch the SUP race. Being that close but not in the mess of it was perfect. We could even walk right down the street to put in the SUP or sit and watch the water.

Spring Break

What a fantastic location! We were able to walk to shopping, restaurants, and the beach. Owners were very nice and shared their resident tag with us for easier parking, also made suggestions on live music, etc. Plenty of channels and movies to watch. Only suggestion would be to add another cookie sheet and tongs to the kitchen. I cooked all our breakfasts so this may not be as important to those who don’t cook. Would love to experience this little place during warmer months.

An Absolute Treasure

My husband and I wanted to take a short vacation to the beach, and from Raleigh, Wrightsville is only a couple of hours away. I first checked this property because of the great price, but I had no idea the value we would receive with the location and all the amenities. Our hosts were super helpful without being overbearing and gave us plenty of recommendations and tips. We had the best time walking everywhere, which was great for cruising the bars and soaking up the atmosphere. If you want the perfect place to set up base camp for a beach trip, this is IT!

Wonderful Wrightsville

We travelled here from Manchester in the UK, combining a family holiday with participating in a local triathlon. The location was perfect with easy access to Banks chanel and Wrightsville Beach. The accommodation was perfect for our group and was spotlessly clean, complete with everything you could would possibly need during your stay. The owners Don and Trish were amazing and super helpful providing local information and making our stay perfect.
