Drive down and look before you rent
Main bedroom Ac out. No help From host. Let them know first night. Had a Certified Ac man we us but host would not call him and vet him or give access to room with interior unit to check drains Simple fix more than likely. One bedroom and bath not usable as it was almost 80 at bedtime. Host did reply and state that he tried to Get Ac people out but nothing. Hot tub was also out just a breaker. We took care of that right away. Private cove is not a good description and walk way down is not a walk way it is a slick drop off to a set of stairs. No Fishing from there either as you would not be able to Cast out without getting hung up. House was nice other than Ac. Lots of extras. Three floors so lots of room for kids over the age 3. Steep stairs! Super tight drive way if you think about bringing a boat beware. The then onto the road right before the house might make you think twice. We made the best of it! Had fun with family but would not Recommend.

Thanks for the review! Yes, the A/C went out during your stay in the master bedroom. I did tell you that since you had a supposed Certified A/C guy staying there that he was more than welcome to look at the outside unit and breaker and let me know as I would certainly reimburse him for his service. Your A/C guy, I guess, never looked as you didn't message me back. We could not get a hold of any A/C guy in the area on a Saturday. Come to find out, it was a breaker issue with that unit and not the A/C unit itself. It has since been resolved and fixed. It has rained and stormed down there weekly for months, so the whole lake is up by 20 feet. The cove is probably up just as high, but normally you can get all the way down to fish and swim. We can't do much about Mother Nature and wet, rainy conditions. The cove area is off property and is actually owned by the Army Corp of Engineers. As far as the neighborhood goes. We can't do anything about how people live their life, how their house looks or potholes the city has not fixed yet. Once your down at the property though, it's different story. Secluded, big and roomy, and has everything you need which will make you feel like your all alone and no neighbors around. My apologies you won't recommend to others. I guess picky people can't be pleased. All of our past guests seem to love it as we have a 10/10 exceptional review rating. Jeff

Family Pre-Thanksgiving Outing
This is a great location to get together with family for our pre-Thanksgiving outing. Its a bit isolated which means everyone hangs around. We had 13 people, 9 adults and 4 kids (7 and under). The kids loved going down to lake to explore. It a steep hike but doable even for our 3 yr. old granddaughter. The house is great - with the kitchen fully equipped with doubles of most things you typically need. The big surprise was that we didn't find the two bathrooms located in the two bedrooms on the first floor (they are behind the open door to the bedroom) for about an hour. Host was responsive when needed. We hope to stay there again.

Family Girls' Trip
This place is great. The location, the number of bedrooms, and baths, the back porch, the view and the quiet peacefulness made this a perfect spot for us all. From my 91 yr old mother down to my 18-month-old great nephews and all in between, we all had a blessed weekend.

Convenient to Whitney and Hillsboro
There were 13 in our group and we had plenty of room. There is a third floor that sleeps 6-7 and that was a little hard for some of us but we knew that when we booked the property. There are not many properties that sleep 13. We were ages 68-70. Has a beautiful view of the lake. There is a very steep incline to get to the lake to fish so that didn't work out for us.

Great family fun week
Enjoyed the vacation at this house. Lots of great fishing. Only turn off I guess I would have to say is all the trailers/mobile homes on the road leading to the house.

Hale Clan Gathering
Great place to lay back and connect. We do a annual family clan gathering so all the brothers and their families can have time together. There was plenty of space and it was quit. The lake access from the house is too steep for the older members or those who have disabilities. The house is so pleasant that just sitting out by the fire is great. Would recommend for those who want to get away from the maddening crowd.

Wonderful Family Reunion
The property was very well stocked. It was decorated cute and comfortable. It was quite a climb up the steep embankment, but we seemed quite proud ourselves every time. We appreciated the abundance of water toys, life vests and games. The coffee drawer was a big hit! The owners were easy to reach and ontop of their game. Very nice.

Great Value Find for Family Reunions
Pros: -The house fit the 17 (11 adults and 6 kids) of us who stayed there. All the bedrooms on the first two floors had bathrooms attached to the room. -There was enough indoor space for us to have all of us inside during the 107 degree heat. -The house has so many great amenities and useful things in its closets (linens, lifejackets, a baby gate...) -Jeff was great to work with and responded quickly to all the questions and needs that we had. Cons: -The master bedroom only has a half bath- a toilet and a tub. -There were a LOT of bugs inside the home. Maybe it was just the season (we went in late June) but there were many flies, a LOT of pill bugs, and many spiders. -One of the beds on the third level is a cot (this wasn't clear to me from the listing).

Thanks for the review! The master has a full bathroom with a tub/shower combo and toilet. The only half bath in the whole house is on the first floor by the kitchen. It's the country and by the lake so there are bugs everywhere. House is sprayed regularly, but opening a door that leads outside for even a minute will cause flying bugs to come in quick. Spiders are a big thing by the lake outside, but we don't do much to them unless they are inside or in an outside doorway as they catch and kill flying bugs. The twin bed upstairs is actually not a cot, but a twin on a small twin frame. Sorry that you had a few cons on the property during your stay, but glad to have you come back out. Jeff

Gorgeous
Amazing! Beautiful home with everything you could possibly need. Beds are comfortable and there are plenty of towels and linens. Kitchen is fully stocked and the coffee bar was perfect. Games and puzzles (plenty provided) are easy to do on the table that easily sat 15 people. Plenty of seating inside as well as on the back porch. The sunrises and sunsets were gorgeous from either of the two decks. The cove on the lake was private and my family loved spending time there. The only problem was getting there. The very steep, rocky pathway was difficult and anyone with any mobility issues would find it almost impossible. Don't forget anything at the house, going back and forth from lake to house is not something you want to do. With that said we would definitely stay at the Blue Magnolia again!

Giant home away from home
We had our annual girlfriends slumber party here and this house was perfection. Ample beds, pillows, blankets, towels for the stay, comfortable and ample seating everywhere, great kitchen and a good homey vibe. We will absolutely be hoping to return!

Perfect Adult Get-Together
This was a perfect set-up for our 6 adult couples. The top floor houses 2 rooms and 1 bathroom; that floor is probably best used for kids or one couple. The house is exactly as described, and we each enjoyed private bed and bath. Plenty of parking, the grounds are lovely to walk around, the den is a nice size, the kitchen has plenty of room and top-notch appliances. The smaller of the two dens downstairs is a sunken den which we worried about as a trip hazard as all of us are older, but the host had a baby-gate available that worked great to remind us of the step down. My bed was extremely comfortable with soft sheets. Most rooms have a tub/shower combination. The neighborhood was very quiet. The owner was easy to communicate with on any questions we had. I would certainly stay here again with a group and easily give it 5-stars.

The Blue Magnolia property was perfect for our golf outing. The sleeping accommodations were fantastic and the number of bathrooms made it perfect for a group of guys getting ready in the morning. It was well stocked with all the dishes and utensils needed. We will definitely use this property for our next Whitney golf outing if the on site properties are unavailable. It’s very reasonably priced.

The property was in a great location with plenty of space for our extended family of 17. Only issue we had was having a hard time connecting to the Wifi (which tends to happen in remote areas). The third floor bunk bedroom had some small fly issues which after spraying some bug spray (that was in the house) went away. The cove in the back was absolutely breath taking. However, it's down thru a steep staircase and may not be suitable for some people. All in all - we highly recommend this property!

This property was amazing
There were 15 of us (kids and adults) at no time did we feel cramped. The home was beautiful and very well stocked. The outdoor area was perfect for games and just sitting around visiting. We thoroughly enjoyed floating and playing in the lake. Everyone wants to come to this property every year. Jeff was always prompt in communicating and very personable. If you are looking for a relaxing vacation you can not go wrong with this property.

The Whitney Experience
We had a blast! The property is very well maintained and we were especially impressed with the bathrooms which were up to the standard of a hotel even though we were out in the country. It was comfortable sitting outside. Not too hot during most of the day. We were pleasantly surprised we were not inundated with bugs because of the large fans. There are a lot of outdoor areas to relax and the children had fun making s'mores. We took a drive to the Whitney dam which has a lot of walking trails and swimming ponds. Very safe to access through a man made beach. Overall a wonderful experience

Girls weekend getaway - Family
Home was amazing! Just perfect for our family of 16 sisters, daughters, cousins, aunts, grandmothers. Beautifully decorated and well stocked with everything we needed and more! The bedrooms were very comfortable; and the rooms were clean and very well maintained. The outside patio area, firepit and hot tub were also great! The views of the lake especially in the evening were gorgeous. Not great access to the lake but that was okay since it was January. Thank you for providing such a beautiful place for us to enjoy and make many memories. Owners were also very attentive and gracious in their communication with us.

Family Gathering
We enjoyed staying at the Blue Magnolia. The downstairs area was perfect for our group with plenty of seating and a nice long table for eating and playing games. The kitchen had what we needed for cooking. Unfortunately the weather wasn't great so we couldn't enjoy the lovely decks on the back of the house. A couple of us had a little trouble finding the place because some street signs were missing, but we all got there. And our host was right about a steep drop off on the last segment of road to the house. It's pretty bumpy too and would not be great for low riders. But it was definitely worth the bumps.

Fabulous Home for a Family Gathering
This house worked out perfect for our family of 8 adults and 7 grandchildren ages 8 months to 10. There was plenty of room and you never felt like you were on top of each other. The grandkids loved the fire pit and making smores and the multiple daily trips down to the lake to hunt for fossils. I have never been to a rental home with such a well stocked kitchen. We cooked big family meals every evening and the kitchen had everything we needed. Our hosts were very gracious with 2 cases of water stocked in the second refrigerator for us as well as abundant choices of K-pods for the Keurig coffee maker. We hiked in lake Whitney state park and did day trips to Waco and Ft. Worth to the Stockyards. Many family memories were made, I highly recommend Blue Magnolia.

Perfect
We are a newly married couple that both have grown to teenage children. This property have given us the closeness of family and also closure of privacy. We enjoyed the decks, pits and nature. Anything we might have lacked bringing to the property, it has. (Sidenote) I replaced the batteries on the thermostat of downstairs hallway, so your out of batteries. Our family would like to thank your family for opening up new memories for us.

Great house and backyard
We loved the open floor plan, plenty of bedrooms and baths, especially loved the back deck. Three in our group love to run/hike/go adventuring wherever we stay. The neighborhood isn’t conducive for it ~ not pretty and dogs on the loose. Again… nice home and owner was great at communicating.

Outside oasis
The backyard was so much prettier than we expected. We loved the giant fire pit and the huge porch. My kids loved fishing in the cove and I loved how quiet it was outside. We would definitely stay here again.

Fall 2021 Glamping Trip
Great house, good lake access, good meal prep area, good hanging out areas indoors and out, great sleeping and bath set up - will definitely come back with our large group. ...emphasize pathway to water is not for the elderly or weak. One of our peeps was not able to come - but if she had, we would have been picking her up at the marina nearby as she would not have been able to trek up and down the path and steps. The rest of us 60 plussers had no problems, as I warned everyone to wear shoes and be careful. Thanks for a great 4 day weekend!!!

Ideal for our Family Reunion
Loved the open kitchen, dining and living. We had plenty of room to all be together all day. The 7 bedrooms and plenty of baths made sleeping arrangements comfortable. Hot tub was clean and a great end to the day. Loved the huge porch and firepit out back. The most relaxing out door living! The walk down to the lake was steep and a little further than we thought, but the hand rails and ropes made it work. We had 4 year olds to 62 year olds make it alright. My 80 year old mom decided not to try it. We even had some athletic guys that managed to get our kayaks up and down, but I think there was a place to put in not far away. It was a great weekend and I'd love to plan another trip here again!

Perfect for large families
This is a great home to getaway from the city life & just relax in. Everything was fully stocked, nice & clean, and perfect for accommodating our large family. Family Reunion
This house is so spacious! We had 11 adults and 4 kids staying there, and we never felt too crowded. There's plenty of room to spread out. We even had some family members come hang out during the day, and that still didn't feel crowded. Communication with the property manager was excellent. Some drawbacks for us: some of the bathrooms, including the downstairs master, only have bathtubs, no showers. The cove is technically accessible but the foliage was so dense and the lake level was high, so there wasn't any way to fish or swimb down there. This would maybe be better when the lake is lower. Cleanliness of the property was decent. Expect a fair number of bugs when you're staying in the country. That just comes with the territory. Overall, our family loved the house and was happy with our stay!

Lake Whitney was open, as were some of the parks. Only park not open, but will be on the June 30th, was the state park. Glad you had a great time anyway. Come back soon. Jeff

Beautiful Lake Sunset View
Our life group of 11 had plenty of room in this very clean and well furnished home. Beautiful lake view and sunsets from the top balcony is impressive. The host, Jeff was very quick and responsive to our questions. Kitchen is very well equipment for all your necessities. We loved the coffee bar with a regular drip and a Keurig and stock up coffee cup carousal. We will consider coming back again. Great house for a family vacation
We had a great time even though it rained most of the time we were there. Lots of area to hang out in small groups and lots of TVs! Appliances were updated and kitchen was well stocked. Hot tub was used even in the rain. Our first outing with kid and grandkids post vaccine- will be great memories

Perfect home for large families!
We had 17 adults and the house was perfect for us. It was as described on VRBO and every part of our stay was great. Jeff was immediately responsive to all of our questions throughout booking and during our stay. Thank you and hopefully we can stay with you again someday. I highly recommend this host and house!

Great time at Blue Magnolia
Friends and I along with all our kids had a great time at this house. It rained the entire weekend we were there, but fortunately the inside of this house is so large and well spread out that we had plenty of fun inside. Hot tub was a nice getaway, and it was certainly nice that so many of the rooms had TVs. Thanks!

Awesome house! Cool location!
We had a great stay! With 7 bedrooms and bathrooms, the house fit our needs perfectly! Owners are very accommodating and responsive. I can’t think of anything that could’ve made it better, it was perfect! Such a cool, fun house!

Complete with everything!
This house is perfect! They had everything we needed at the house. The views were amazing and relaxing. It was exceptionally clean. The beds were very comfortable. We had 7 families and an infant and We had plenty of room. The kids had plenty to do to keep them entertained. I highly recommend this home for family events. The pictures are true to the house.
