«Great hotel with authentic character and charm. This is a historical property so don't expect the latest amenities, but the staff were very friendly and served a great breakfast. I look forward to staying at the Spencer House again.»

«Amazing breakfast, nice smell when you arrive, rooms are very clean (including the carpets).»

«The room smelled like cat pee the TV shut down every time you close the door because the cable wire was loose the showerhead leaked and the breakfast sucked. We were thankful that the woman at the front desk came up the first time to fix the TV. That was the only good thing about the place.»

«They charged me twice for the same stay and refused to refund. No explanation as to why there was a double charge for a one night stay. Didn’t even stay there a full 24 hours, maybe 10 hours at most.»

«Great location and great view from the upper porch. If you’re taking the ferry to Cumberland Island, you’ll be right across the street. There is no dedicated parking. They offer a free breakfast but it wasn’t set up one of our two mornings, no one was at the desk to get ice, there was not even a way to get coffee. There were 4 of us- 3 adults and a child. We chose a room with 2 beds- they were full size and the room was very small. We own an old house so we understand the challenges but this ...

«Everything was very lovely»

«I booked through Expedia. Upon arrival, I learned hotel was being renovated. Noise galore, saws, hammering etc. All amenities were closed ie: pool, fitnes...everything. Contacted Expedia and they did nothing to help. Hotel said if I booked direct, they would discount the rate. Expedia told me no discounts. AWFUL EXPERIENCE!!!»

«Didn’t care for the clerk Jordan. I put accessible on app when i booked. When I got got in the hotel I ask the clerk if it was handicap accessible? He said no. I said I just need the bars at the tub or the preferably a walk in shower. Well we only have one walk in shower left for handicap and that is going to cost you $55 more. I said because he is handicap you are going to charge me $55 per night? He said yes. I took it but wasn’t happy.»

«My in laws and I have been staying here for years - we checked in to accessible rooms and both rooms we’re disgustingly dirty and not able to sleep in. We found a cockroach in one room. The lady at the front desk was very understanding and refunded us but not a good experience and definitely won’t be staying again»

«Upon arrival, the smell in the check in area was horrible. The room was no better, it smelled like old wet dog. I had children with me but I was just happy that we were only staying one night. Very disappointed.»
