Welcome to Monticola Lodge! From the Latin "monticola" (mountain dweller), where mountain getaway meets luxury and comfort. Established in Winter 2022! Spacious and exclusive! This new beautiful property is conveniently located on the Continental Divide among 3.5 acres of pinery bordering the Gallatin National Forest, and a short ten-minute drive to Yellowstone National Park. A dream getaway destination for all seasons, offering easy access to miles of snowmobile trails for the winter adventure seeker, and ATV trails for your summer escapade. Come and experience the tranquility, luxury, and comfort that Monticola Lodge has to offer while discovering the wonders of Yellowstone and the surrounding area.

The property offers 5,000 square-feet of tastefully decorated living space featuring top of the line amenities and plush furnishings designed for your comfort and enjoyment. The lodge boasts sweeping 14' walls and massive 26" beams throughout. A large see-through fireplace complements the spacious living room and dining room area. The dining room features a 12' custom made epoxy river table to accommodate seating for your entire party. Similarly, the living room offers ample elegant and comfortable seating, including a conversation seating area and small board game table, perfect for entertaining and gathering around. The main floor also features a premium gourmet kitchen with granite countertops and huge center island. The kitchen is fully equipped with brand name appliances (dual refrigerators, dual ovens, trash compactor), and a wide variety of condiments and spices to inspire the chef in you!

The two living floors offer functionality, comfort, and privacy for everyone. The lower floor features a family/TV room with fireplace, foosball and air hockey tables. The cabin sleeps up to fourteen, with four master bedroom suites exclusively designed for privacy and outfitted with comfortable beds and high quality linens for your night time comfort. The four bedroom suites offer king size beds, complete with a private ensuite bathroom. The fifth bedroom offers the perfect sleep-over experience with three queen beds. Each master bathroom offers a tiled walk-in shower. The fifth bathroom has a full shower/tub combination to accommodate the little-ones. Additional features include a comfortable front covered patio with BBQ grill, outdoor dining table, and firepit. A beautiful redwood deck featuring a large jacuzzi tub for soaking up after a busy day of adventures.

Explore the beauty and magic of Yellowstone National Park by planning your own adventure, or by choosing a guided tour of the park. There is plenty to do in the area, including world-class fly fishing, hiking, horseback riding, white water rafting, kayaking, boating, water skiing, shopping, dining, theater, and sightseeing, among other things.

The town of West Yellowstone offers fun for the whole family including Yellowstone Historic Center, antique shops, the Grizzly Discovery Center, the IMAX Theater featuring daily showings. For your Wild West experience, the Yellowstone Rodeo (less than a mile from the cabin) is open for Rodeo night almost daily during the summer months. Also available during the summer are the Museum of the Yellowstone and the famous Playmill Theatre offering fun-filled recreation for kids as well as adults.

If winter is your season, the area offers some of the best snowmobiling in the West! The roads to the cabin are plowed during the winter months, offering easy access for the snowmobile enthusiast. The Lion Head Trail is located just down the driveway. Other winter activities include cross country skiing, snowshoeing, dog sledding and ice fishing, all of which are available close by.

Beautiful home and well stocked with everything we needed for our stay! We had a group of 12 and everyone had a wonderful time. Rand was super responsive and helpful with any questions. Would not hesitate to recommend this home - perfect location for West Yellowstone. We went to Big Sky one day to dogsled, rode snowmobiles through the national forest, and took a Snow Coach through Yellowstone. Highly recommend Buffalo Bar in town for a meal and the pizza from Slippery Otter was a great take home dinner after a full day!

The place was incredible and we just loved it! The kitchen was very large and had everything we needed or could need. Plenty of room to work, two fridges, two ovens, just wonderful! Everyone loved their rooms and said the beds were very comfortable. The location was very quiet and private. The place had a great outdoor grill. The hot tub was wonderful. And the layout of the place was great. Each guest had their own bedroom, and a huge central great room with very high ceilings. We would recommend this place for family gatherings, or gatherings of any type. We are definitely considering coming back in the future!

This cabin retreat was spacious, clean, and beautiful, and looks as shown in the website’s photos. The five large bedrooms and bathrooms met the needs of our family, including our four adult kids and their families, well. The lower level’s large family room with games was great for the littles. The laundry room includes two washers and dryers, which was great for our large group. The kitchen was very well-appointed, including two full-size refrigerators, and the table was set beautifully when we arrived. We enjoyed the grill, fire pit, and deck with hot tub outdoors as well. The owner was helpful and responsive. The cabin is set in the woods, up high on a hill, so you may see a few deer outside. One caution: the water pressure was not as strong as we would like, probably due to the location. Overall, a lovely cabin home with many conveniences and thoughtful details. We would highly recommend.

Beautiful House!

This was a beautiful place to stay during our trip to Yellowstone - we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the numerous amenities including the hot tub. The only caveat is that the heating is fixed - so it got a little warm (during the summertime) unless we opened the windows.

The family of the groom stayed at this home and it was beyond beautiful. The 4 same size rooms are perfect and then the one room with the 3 beds was fun for the older kids. The attention to detail in the home was so beautiful. We cooked and baked and they had everything. It could not have worked out be4tter.

Family reunion

4 siblings and spouses stayed at this amazing place. The house gave the perfect amount of community gathering areas, yet allowed for private time in the wonderful masters with ensuites. Rand responded to our questions promptly. Perfect place, would definitely stay here, or at any of his other properties again.

Just shy of EXCELLENT!

The property was beautiful and had everything you could possibly need or want! Rand and Sonia have really outdone themselves on this one. We stayed during the winter season and LOVE the location with a good amount of seclusion and perfect snowmobile trail access. There is nothing better than a long day of trail riding topped off with a nice, relaxing soak in the hot tub! We had everything you could want to cook a nice meal, the guys enjoyed nightly card games at the oversized dinning table and us ladies enjoyed chatting by the fire with a cocktail. Our only issue was very low water pressure, which Rand addressed immediately. The only problem was that within a few days the water pressure issue moved from the showers to the kitchen sink, not as impactful but made it difficult to rinse the sink to clean. The only other issue was that if the bedroom doors were closed, the temp dropped significantly in them. We were never able to get the bedrooms above 67 degrees, which dropped to 64 during the night if the door was closed. The living room/common area was always nice and toasty! We were comfortable for the most part, but this could be a much bigger issue for others during the winter months. We would love to come stay at this cabin again and will recommend to others. Rand and Sonia are always excellent hosts!

Sixtieth Anniversary Celebration

We came to Yellowstone to celebrate our 60th anniversary and chose Monticola Lodge as our home away from home. We could not have chosen a more beautiful, functional home for our family of 11. (Ages 2 - 81) Thank you for sharing your vacation home with us. There was plenty of room to be quietly separate and noisily together. We had so much fun coming together each evening in the fabulous kitchen cooking up the evening "feast". Thank you again for the very thoughtfully designed, furnished, decorated and cleaned vacation home.

We enjoyed the area and this big house accommodated the nine in our family. The homeowner had fun games, big TVs and the kitchen had everything we needed for meals. We all would recommend.

PERFECT FOR OUR FAMILY GATHERING

The house was large, beautifully decorated, had so many thoughtful amenities - had areas for those wishing to be alone or gather in small groups, a wonderful kitchen equipped with everything a large family might need, and a gameroom downstairs with TV and big, comfortable couch. The house was also close to West Yellowstone and the entrance to the park, which made it easy to explore the park every day. Great home and great experience for all!

AMAZING ALL AROUND

This home was absolutely stunning! The location was only 10 minutes away from the West Yellowstone entrance. The amenities were great. Perfect for our family reunion. Four out of the five bedrooms had king beds, which is hard to find that many rooms with king beds in vacation homes. The fifth room had three queen beds which was great for our teen boys. The beds were very comfortable. They had plenty of games and game room for our teens. We actually were able to meet the owners and they were extremely nice! The house was decorated beautifully! The common room was spacious with plenty of seating. The kitchen was equipped with anything you would need for cooking and the dining room table was perfect! We have stayed at many vacation rentals all over the USA and this was by far one of the nicest. I would definitely stay there again.

Best ever!!

Every year I take our family of nine kids, grandkids on vacation and celebrate my 4th of July birthday! We always rent a house or condos and we all agree this was the best ever! Everybody had space. Everything we needed was there. It was convenient to get into Yellowstone and the place is gorgeous. Only wish we would have stayed longer but -places to go/things to do!! Thanks so much, Rand! I’ll echo what other reviewers have said in that the home was exactly as described. Large very comfortable rooms and bathrooms. Kitchen was equipped better than my own home. Kids (ages 6-15) enjoyed the jacuzzi every afternoon after exploring Yellowstone NP. Clean and nicely decorated and only 10 minutes from the park. Never ran out of hotwater, plenty of channels on the giant tv’s (one upstairs and one downstairs) would have like tv’s in the bedrooms but not complaining! Having 2 washer/dryers was a bonus. Also, when you leave the home and get to the end of the driveway - if you turn left your headed to West Yellowstone and YNP if you turn right you’ll experience even more beauty! We saw lots of animals including mt. goats, beautiful scenery and the site of the 1959 Hebgen Lake earthquake. Great vacation and home.

Family Trip

Our family of 12 (3 generations) had an amazing time at Monticola Lodge! It is well equipped with so many amenities and met our needs for a week long trip in every way. Great for a big family because everyone had plenty of room and the house affords many entertainment options for all ages! The owner is great and we had consistent communication! We made memories for a lifetime at Monticola Lodge!!!
