At check-in the receptionist told us to use the "on line" check-in. In the past it hasn't worked so we were reluctant but have it a go. Got to where you swipe your cc and it failed. Receptionist not happy that she actually had to get us to sign the form. Either way she would have needed to deal with us to give us a room key.
The room was clean and tidy on arrival however for 5 nights stay we got no service. In the past we have been serviced most days.
I asked for towels to be replaced and for tea, coffee, toilet paper to be replenished on day 3. Got fresh towels but no used ones taken, and nothing else. Asked at reception the next morning, (different receptionist) who happily have me what I needed.
We feel the standards are slipping here at Microtel.
It's in a great location, the room we were in had a slightly softer bed than previous rooms we've stayed in so that was nice.
I'm sure we will be back and hopefully customer service will be back to its previous standards.
