2nd Time Even Better!
This is the second time we’ve stayed at this lovely home, and I honestly didn’t think it could get any better. It did! Instead of the loveseat, Sherry and Dave have put in two recliners, new patio furniture, and a reverse osmosis system throughout the home. It’s nice to see hosts that keep the property up-to-date. Dave and Sherry are a lovely couple who make you feel like family! They stock this home with everything you made. Looking forward to returning!

This is one of the best vacation rentals we have every stayed in. Sherry and David are such nice people and so hospitable! David gave us a bottle of sparkling wine for our 53rd wedding anniversary! There were apples and protein bars in the fridge when we arrrived. The place was so clean and charming. Sherry did our laundry! We will definintely stay again if we come back to the Big Island.

Urlaub im Paradies
Vielen Dank an Sherry und David für den unvergesslichen Urlaub auf Big Island in Waikoloa Village. Die Wohnung war für uns in perfekter Lage und mit allem ausgestattet was man sich wünscht. In der Nacht ist es sehr ruhig auch mit geöffneten Fenstern. Wir sind bei der Ankunft spät am Abend mit gedimmten Licht, ätherischen Ölen, entspannter Musik und sogar mit Snacks und gefiltertem Wasser empfangen worden. Das war super und das haben wir noch nie so erlebt. Das große Bett war sehr bequem und es gab genug Stauraum im Schrank. Es waren genug Handtücher im Schrank und sogar Toilettenpapier. In der Dusche gab es genügend Shampoo und Conditioner und Duschbad. Es war auch in der Küche alles da und sehr sauber. Es wurde Kaffee und Tee bereitgestellt für die gesamte Urlaubszeit. Für Ausflüge gab es auch eine Kühltasche und Liegestühle und Strandtücher. Und für das tolle Schwimmbad der Community in Waikoloa gab es auch Karten. Für eine Ferienwohnung ist das alles sehr ungewöhnlich und wir waren sehr begeistert und wollen wenn wir wieder kommen gerne wieder bei Sherry und David und den bezaubernden Hunden wohnen. Wenn man nicht möchte bemerkt man nicht, dass man nicht allein wohnt. Doch wir wollten die Beiden gerne kennenlernen und die Hunde auch! Die Waschmaschine und der Trockner befinden sich nicht in der Wohnung sondern in der Garage. Man kann aber jederzeit waschen wenn man Bescheid gibt. Am Liebsten wären wir geblieben. Danke!

Welcoming, Clean & Comfortable
After a long day, walking into this unit was instantly welcoming....soft lighting & music, relaxing essential oil diffuser, cooling fans, lights snacks & cold water.....eliminating travel stress and shifting us to holiday mode. So lovely. We appreciated the cleanliness & attention to detail & quality in what was provided - kitchen knives that were actually sharp, coffee maker with good coffee pods, comfortable bedding, abundant linens, full 3 week supply of sundry items and community pool pass for length swims just to name a few, plus all the things that you normally find in a well-stocked rental. The property is easy to find, has a grocery store nearby and is in a convenient location for exploring much of the island. David & Sherry are kind & generous hosts, great communicators and go above & beyond to provide a home away from home for your holiday.

Super place with super hosts
The unit is extremely nice, equipped with all you might need, with beautiful landscaping. Maintenance of property is stellar. Sherry and David could not have been more accommodating (we old sisters could not figure out how to use Roku, so David came to the rescue in less than a minute! This was after 7:30 pm). We highly recommend this wonderful place!

Perfect for a single traveler!
Sherry and David's VRBO is loaded with top notch amenities. The beautiful wooden floors, the remote controlled ceiling fans, the linens and towels, the color scheme, the holistic amenities, kitchen knife set was pricey for a rental, the Keurig machine, and all the snacks in the refrigerator and chips!! Easy to find location! KTA Food Mart is minutes away. And the view driving down to the beach daily and sunsets are amazing!

Absolutely Enchanting!
This little Ohana is absolutely enchanting! From the moment you walk in the door, you feel relaxed. The extra touches when you walk in is a "welcome" we've never experienced, not even at a resort (salt lamp lit, essential oil lamp going with soft music playing, cold filtered water in the fridge with a few snacks, teas, coffees, etc.). It was better than being at a resort with all the extras. This is the most well-stocked unit we have ever rented! We did not have to shop for the usual TP, paper towels, toiletries, etc. as there was more than enough supplied by the hosts. Beach equipment, cooler, towels, etc. all provided. We usually have to rent this equipment when we arrive at a rental. I can't say enough good things about this place. Perfect for 2 people. And the location is the best centrally located to hit all the island spots (and it's a BIG island, literally!). The hosts, Sherry and David, were wonderful and incredibly accommodating. And you don't see them unless YOU want to see them or contact them. We worried about staying on any owner's property but more private it could not be. The private backyard/lanai was our favorite place to sit at night and watch the sun go down. It was landscaped so beautifully and I honestly would not have been surprised if fairies flew out of the trees. It's that enchanting! Just perfect! I hope next time we rent, we can actually hang with the hosts one night as they were really fun people! So personable and again, giving. You can tell by the price of the unit that they aren't concerned with charging the most they could (which could be a lot) but more concerned with making sure people on budgets could afford to see the incredible Big Island. Solid value, superbly clean and outfitted
This is a centrally located mother-in-law apartment--about 20 min to the coast, and 25 min to Waimea. Waikoloa Village has its own supermarket, restaurants, gas station. The apartment is a 22 minute walk to the grocery; the apartment's location is completely residential. For us, the biggest negative is how close the apartment is to Waikoloa Road- and that is a busy road. Trucks and loud cars are on it from the time we woke up (4 am) until falling asleep (10pm). I notice road noise, and it's part of staying here-we stayed during a weekend. We also left the windows open all the time, as a/c is an add-on cost. For folks who want a/c, and keep the windows shut, or don't notice traffic noise, then not a problem. The ceiling fans worked well for us in keeping it comfortable. The neighborhood itself is very quiet. The unit has an entry that faces the entrance road to the neighborhood; if one looks south, it's a pretty view, if one looks west, there's a road. The garden is pretty, and hides some of the street. There is a two person bench, and a one person chair in the garden, and a sense of privacy from the owners--but no place to lie down and lounge. Comes with a grill. The apartment is the living/dining/kitchen area, then a bathroom, then the bedroom. I think the listing says about 500 sq feet. It would be perfect for one person- and it was okay for the two of us, the biggest drawback to the small size is that there is only one place to sit in the living area- a two person settee, so no place to lounge, other than on the bed. I have stayed in probably 40 vacation rentals and this place is the cleanest, most well-quipped one I have ever seen. The kitchen, despite its small size, is very workable. There are a few spices/condiments available. One induction burner, and a great convection/toaster oven. Oddly, no microwave. (Also, I think maybe arrangements can be made with the owners re: laundry, but the apartment doesn't have a w/d). Plenty of towels, plenty of dishcloths, no skimping on dish soap, paper towels, shampoo/conditioner. An outstandingly well stocked closet with really nice beach chairs, towels, two snorkel sets. I cannot over-praise the thought and generosity that went into outfitting this place. Nothing done on the cheap, everything in excellent condition. The bed was just the right mix of firm and soft. The pillows are very thick (and I suggest having an extra set of thinner pillows). Excellent value, excellent quality and cleanliness.

The best!
This was the best VRBO/staycation experience I have had! Wow. Can't say enough wonderful things about this space. Sparkly clean, super organized, well thought out and thorough. The kitchen/dining/living room space is small (for those imagining gourmet meals) but bathroom and bedroom very accommodating. Hosts are super friendly and available if needed. If you're hanging around in the day you'll hear road noise. But it's super quiet at night. Nice cool breezes, flawless TV and internet service, private yard. Can't wait to stay here again!

Fabulous little condo
Sherry thought of r everything. There are beach chairs, umbrella,masks, snorkels, and find in addition to the usual beaches towels. The kitchen has 21st century appliances I had never seen as well as olive oil, a few seasonongs, ziplock bags, aluminum foil, refrigerator storage containers and more. Everything is high quality and tasteful. We stayed a week. Nearby supermarket is a plus.

Wow! Talk about clean! Very cute!
I have lived in Hawaii a long time, because of the size of this island you often finding a need to stay in other parts of the island overnight. I was expecting this unit to be a little run down or a little dirty with some missed spots due to how busy it is. There was none of that. Every single nook and cranny was spotless. The directions were spot on. It was nice a light came on as we got to the lock box outside, a nice touch. Then we opened the door and another little motion light lit up to help us find the switches. In the bedroom there was a Himalayan salt lamp on along with a diffuser running with soothing music and light. There were also 2 bags of chips and a plate of apples and bars in the fridge along with a cold, ready to use pitcher of Brita water. There was ample room everywhere, the unit is very well laid out. In the closet were beach chairs (and the good Tommy Bahama ones that recline), cooler, umbrella, snorkel gear, beach towels and the other side was very nicely organized as well. We never cooked any meals but we did use the little toaster oven to heat our pizza and it was perfect. We appreciated a real fridge and freezer as well. The pop up table to eat at was a nice solution to eat at. The little kitchen space was very well appointed and thoughtfully laid out. In the bathroom there was a whole selection of after sun care, DoTerra oils, sunscreen, etc. I really liked how the sheets and towels did not stink from dryer sheets or perfumes because I am allergic to those. The bedroom was completely quiet, we did use the A/C because we live in a cooler part of the island. The A/C was amazing, usually in Hawaii you have to put up with noisy window units that blow ice cold air in one spot. This state of the art Fujitsu was absolutely silent. I am a light sleeper and use Bose sleep-buds because almost anything will wake me up, but this A/C was super quiet. The bed was extremely comfortable as well. I forgot an item so Sherry called awhile after we left and I went back. She even gave me some DoTerra samples to take with and told me how to use my oil diffuser that I still haven't tried. I would DEFINITELY stay here again. Thank you David and Sherry!

10 for 10 in every possible way. 2 things need attention: 1) I couldn't get the lock on the door to work, so I just left it open, which proved to be safe, (as the nice neighborhood would suggest) and 2) towels were very "rough", so either time for new ones, or a good soak w/ fabric softener perhaps. These are minor gripes. What a great job w/ EVERYTHING else, wonderful attention to detail, including very nice sheets!

Glad you enjoyed your stay. Sorry you could not figure out the door. Since the sliding door locks from the outside when you are in your Ohana and you want to lock up for the night you just push the handle in from the inside and it locks. If I would of known you had problems I would of come over to show you how it worked. I know you were very busy at the amazing songwriters event we hold here on the Big Island we never had a chance to meet. I’m really good at reading and responding to any text I get so please next time if you need anything just let us know. I am very sensitive to chemicals I clean green and I do not use fabric softeners. We do have a soft water system at our house I’ll check on the towels and replace them if needed but it might be just because I don’t use fabric softeners they might of felt that way to you. A spa like getaway!
We loved our stay at Sherry and David's place! From the minute we walked it was our "spa away from home". Walking in to the spa music and the scents of the oils defusing was amazing. So cute, quaint and quiet. Sherry and David really have thought of every little detail. Totally equipped mini kitchen, even with some spices, great grill outside, Had everything for our day trips to the beach ( chairs, towels, umbrella). You name it, Sherry and David have thought of it! Even though Sherry and David live on the property, aside from coming to greet and welcome us and let us know they were there if we need anything, they totally respected our privacy. At nights after coming back from our day trip or dinner we enjoyed a glass of wine on the cute and private patio area. I can't say enough great things about this place. Thank you Sherry and David for making our first few days on the island so enjoyable. Mahalo!!!

boutique hotel like touches
What an oasis. The owners of this property made our stay so much better with all the little details. Having a little snack in the refrigerator after traveling all day to get to the island. Soothing essential oil humidifier and comfortable bed. A guide book! Ours didn't come in time. Chairs, cooler, towels, all kinds of extras for use to borrow while being a guest. Although we didn't meet each other, there is obviously great care taken with this property and thoughtfulness. The best sense of Aloha we experienced our whole trip. One more example, we went to the Observatory and were coming back late. I know that places close early in Hawai'i and requested help about where we might eat as we didn't plan that part well. Not only did Sherry and David recommend a place, but they sent an OpenTable reservation that allowed us to eat with 15min to spare. Very thoughtful and especially juxtapose to our other VRBO experience while on this trip. Kudos to you as owners. I have been an owner and this kind of care takes a special person. Thank you for your hospitality.

Comfortable Stay
A little gem of an ohana. Great hospitality and very well equipped. Perfect for 2 people but no more. Very comfortable king size bed. Large LCD TV with Netflix plus many channels. If you plan to explore, this provides a good base. Cooler, chairs, towels, snorkel sets all provided. Since it is at about 1000 feet, nights are cooler. Only drawback is that kitchen is combinined with living room. Would definitely stay again. Mahalo.

A home away from home
Comfortable, private, and picturesque surrounding with everything you need to experience the island. We made use of the cooler, beach chairs, beach towels and the Big Island ultimate guide book. There was even snorkel gear and a boogie board so you don't have to rent equipment. If you want to prepare a few meals here to save some money for other things, there is a grocery store less than a mile away, a grill, cook plate, dishes, and everything you need for meal prep. The location is great with easy access to major roadways. When my husband's prescription sunglasses broke, there was even a miniature screwdriver that he used to fix them. Stay here and enjoy! Unless you are a hotel snob who prefers to overpay for a hotel room, you will not be disappointed.

Perfect for our needs. An excellent base for exploring.
Loved staying here - it was more spacious than I expected from the photos - very quiet and private and separate from the main house with own entry with private garden. Spotless presentation throughout. All the extras really appreciated as well such as oil burners, cooking equipment, coffee machine, kettle, guide book, plus beach equipment like umbrella and cooler. We (my daughter and I) found the location perfect - in a quiet street very close to the Waikoloa Village shops which had a great supermarket for supplies for the days exploring and breakfast food. The Italian restaurant in the Village shops is also highly recommended. Staying at Waikoloa Village (up the hill) was perfect to explore the many beaches and historic parks both north and south along the Kohala Coast from here without feeling restricted to any particular resort location - we managed several of both beaches and historic sites each of the four days we were here! David and Sherry were wonderful hosts - greeting us when we arrived and making us feel welcome, then leaving us to do our own thing the rest of the time. I highly recommend staying here and will be back again if we are on the Big Island again. PS put your shoes inside the door at night as the garden sprinklers come on overnight!

Beautiful home in a great location
A real jewel, immaculately maintained, and in a great location. Perfect for two people, with everything that you need to enjoy Hawaii's Kona - Kohala coast. You will not regret staying at Sherry and David's place. Mahalo !!!

Wonderful accommodation
Perfect place to stay. Everything we needed if we wanted to eat any meals there. So many extras such as toiletries in bathroom, beach towels, beach mat, cooler. Beautifully decorated and clean. Private area to sit outside. Sherry and David were very welcoming. 5 stars!!

Sweet Spot

Will never stay in a hotel on the Big Island after discovering this gem!!!
My husband and I stayed on the Big Island a total of six nights, the first three being at Sherry and David's vacation rental. The inside and outside of the rental was spotless, we did not want for ANYTHING during our stay there, and MUCH preferred their place to the two other hotels we stayed at for the remainder of our trip. Sherry and David themselves were super nice, while also giving us plenty of space and privacy. If we ever come back to the Big Island, I hope they will still be renting and available for our next stay with them!

Lovely suite-private, clean and Comfortable
Sherry and David where great hosts. Available when needed and considerate of our privacy. The suite has lots of thoughtful touches and is well equipped. It was extremely clean and attractive. The bed was very comfortable.

Lovely Place :-)
My husband and I certainly enjoyed the stay at "Synergy"! So many thoughtful touches made it a very pleasant stay: The diffuser with the essential oils, the comforting bed, shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, everything you could wish for to go to the beach, stores nearby, a really lovely backyard with flowers and plants around to sit in... I could go on like that - for us it was perfect! Thanks, Sherry and David!

Beautiful Place To Stay While Exploring the Island
It was so nice staying in Sherry and David's property, "Synergy". It is nicely located in Waikaloa with many grocery stores and restaurants close by. We were only there for a few days, and while we were there we checked out Hapuna Bay, Kona, as well as drove to Hilo for the farmers market and then to Volcanoes National Park for some hiking. It was amazing to see the different landscapes you go through! Sherry and David were very nice and accommodating as well - thank you for everything that you did for us - it was above and beyond!! - Laura and Johnny
