You definitely get what you pay for, but I will be double-checking reviews more carefully from now on. Expedia showed several high ratings, so I’m not sure if we were given the worst room available, but it was a very disappointing experience.
At first glance, the room looked clean when we walked in. However, within seconds, we were hit with a terrible smell—like the room had been cleaned with a dirty rag and old mop water. The odor was overwhelming and seemed like mold.
There was visible mold on the curtains and even on the lamp. The bed sheets were stained and had cigarette burns, the carpet was dirty, and the bathroom was in very poor condition. The shower had what looked like smeared dead bugs, a stain that resembled blood, and the ceiling above it was deteriorating.
The photos online are very misleading and do not reflect the actual condition of the room.
I do not recommend staying here. The smell was so bad that we had to turn the AC on very cold just to make it slightly more bearable. I even had to cover my nose with a blanket to sleep because the odor was so strong it burned my nose. It was so persistent that it lingered on one of our plastic bags.
Never again.
