  • UPGRADES FOR 2024 Enjoy this lovely "old beach" style ranch property home with your family. The owner has added many wonderful upgrades for the 2024 vacation rental season. There is brand-new carpeting throughout, a ceiling fan, lovely granite countertops, and a new eat-in kitchen table and chairs. The well-stocked kitchen includes a new microwave, a new stove, a NEW refrigerator, and a wok for the chef in your family. Throughout the home, new lighting fixtures have been installed offering a bright and cheery atmosphere, lovely updated comforters, and newly updated whimsical decor that will add to your vacation enjoyment. It has a spacious living room and a separate dining area in the enclosed sun porch where you can enjoy family meals together while overlooking the backyard. Being only two houses from the beach makes this the perfect location to lay out, enjoying the sand and surf all day. If you're looking for more to do, take the short drive into the exciting resort area where you will find multiple restaurants, shopping, live entertainment, and so much more! While there, why not explore Virginia Beach's famous 3-mile-long boardwalk? The house is eight blocks from an entrance to the First Landing State Park, where you will find walking and biking trails shaded by pine trees and where Blackbeard the Pirate hung out) . Atlantic Haven is truly a great property for you and your family of 10.

The location of this home could not have been more perfect! The interior spaces were well laid out and the rooms were a decent size. The beds seemed smaller than a queen but more important than the size was the mattress discomfort. The primary bed was really uncomfortable making it hard to get good sleep. Also as an older home, the smell of moisture was constant. All that said, while I don't necessarily think we would rent this home again, the location was absolute predefection. The North End beaches were not at all crowded, even on weekends, with so much space to set up for an hour or a whole day.

The house itself is spacious and has a good division of space to accommodate larger family groups. Members of my group were able to go to bed at different times without being kept up by the rest of the group hanging out in the common areas. Everyone had the privacy they needed while still being able to spend time together on the property.There does seem to be a bug problem in some areas, though the overall accommodations were clean. There is a bizarre problem with some of the doors, namely in the hall bathroom, where they will not properly latch when being closed. The step up from the dining area into the kitchen is also quite dangerous; one of the guests in my party tripped on it and ended up having to spend the rest of the trip limping. I would like to see that better marked or perhaps given a ramp. That being said, the location and size is hard to beat for the price! The beach is immediately accessible, you practically walk outside and you're on the path through the dunes. And when we drove down to the boardwalk (necessary, as the property is a few miles from the main resort areas), we saw the beach down there was unbelievably crowded. Meanwhile, our stretch of beach up by this property was basically empty! If you're traveling to Virginia Beach because you want to actually go to the beach, and not be stuck in crowds just to be near the boardwalk, this property is a great option!
