Do not stay here unless you have no other option. Even then, there are better hotels nearby, Mariners Hotel is far better.
We booked a 10 night stay at Sunset Shores Beach Hotel. Less than 24 hours before our flight, they told us they were overbooked and moved us to Paradise Beach Hotel for the first two nights. They would not respond to questions about the change. The room was a downgrade, smelled moldy, had visible mold in the AC, no hot water, and constant smoke from neighboring rooms.
After two nights, we were forced to check out at noon but could not check into Sunset Shores until 3 pm, despite this being their mistake. They offered a so called “complimentary” dinner, which later came with undisclosed restrictions limited to the cheapest menu items.
When we finally checked in, the AC did not work. We were moved again to their “best room,” which still had mold, broken fixtures, poor construction, and another moldy AC unit. At that point we canceled our stay.
Management was never available despite repeated requests. Service was slow, unfriendly, and indifferent. Based on our experience and other reviews, this appears to be a pattern. The operation felt disorganized, dishonest, and unconcerned with guest satisfaction. I strongly recommend staying elsewhere.
