Bra hotell for solbadere og turgåere
Vi leide to juniorsuiter, en med havutsikt, en uten. De var romslige (store), med en liten altan med et bord og to stoler. Vi satt på den med havutsikt (solnedgang) de fleste kveldene. Ikke stor forskjell på rommene,: AC virket (intet problem at det ene rommet var litt varmere om kvelden), det var ikke minibar, men det var et lite kjøleskap (passet oss godt), safene fungerte ikke, veldig god plass til baggasjen din og litt til, liten TV, teppebelagte gulv ( preget av elde, men ok), badet har flislagde gulv med mye speil på vegger, to vasker, et badekar, en dusjnisje,et lite men adskilt toalett innenfor badet. Sengene var ok, og ulltepper og ekstra puter tilgjengelig. Frokosten var god, godt utvalg av frukt,youhurt, frokostblanding og drikke, llitt mindre av pålegg. Hotellet severer både lunch og middag. Lunchen kjøpte vi heller på " strandkafeen" noen hundre meter fra hotellet. Middagen på hotellet var superb. Buffet til 25 euro inkl drikke, hovedretter fra 11-19 euro. Vi elsker stekene deres! Servicen fra de hotellansatte var prima. Virkelig bra! Hotellet ligger 2 mil fra hovedstaden og ca. 4-5 km. fra Villa Franca. Det går busser, men den siste for dagen kl.18-19. (det er en opplevelse i seg selv og ta bussen gjennom de trange landsbygatene). Vi (måtte) leide bil for halve oppholdet. Bassengområdet var bra. Stranden bortenfor var bra,( vår yngste hadde problemer å komme forbi dønningene da det blåste en del).

L’hôtel est très bien situé et la vue sur la plage est incroyable. Les chambres sont très vastes et en cours de rénovation. Très bonne literie et très bon équipement. Le personnel est accueillant sans plus. Le vrai moins est la partie restauration qu’il vaut mieux éviter

This is an excellent hotel. We were upgraded to a junior suite which was roomy and well laid out. The bathroom was the best hotel bathroom I've seen in decades -- enough counter space, 2 sinks, things arranged in sensible ways (I'm convinced that most hotel bathroom designers have never stayed in a hotel!). The breakfast buffet is excellent with something for everyone (except no chocolate sprinkes for the Dutch). Make sure your rate includes breakfast. The staff were friendly and helpful. The towel system means availability of towels for the beach or the hot pools. The grounds are pleasant -- we saw the uniquely Azorean daylight bat flying out near the tennis court. The beach is very close. As others have commented, the location is isolated and you will need a car, but it is quite central on the island.

Une belle vue sur l'océan
Situé entre Ponte Delgada et Furnas, cet hôtel en bord d'océan est un bon comprmis. Les chambres sont spacieuses et disposent d'un balcon fort agréable. Cependant le choix de la moquette qui est tâchée bien évidemment est incompréhensible sur une île où il ne fait jamais froid. Petit déjeuner simple et très peu de gâteaux comme cela était le cas dans les autres Pestana au Portugal.

It was an amazing stay! We had a nice corner room 317, the view was breath taking. I would say it was the best one so far. The food in the restaurant was delicious and service by everyone in the hotel was impeccable. We will definitely be back next year!!

Ruhiges und einsames Strandhotel
Ruhig am Strand gelegen, hatten wir ein Zimmer mit Meerblick. Das Zimmer war geräumig und zweckmäßig eingerichtet. Es fehlte an Möglichkeiten, Badesachen zu trocknen und seine Koffer zu deponieren. Auch ein Schrank ist nicht vorhanden. Das Zimmer hätte eine Renovierung nötig. Die Sauberkeit war in Ordnung. Das Frühstück war in Ordnung, es fehlte aber an Abwechslung und Auswahl. Insgesamt war der Aufenthalt schön.

Beach resort - let the waves lull you to sleep
This is a very nice place to stay - huge rooms, beautiful views of a black sand beach and turquoise water - we fell asleep to the sound of the waves crashing every night. The staff are super friendly and helpful!! Breakfast was included and there was always something one could find to eat. The coffee seems to contain chocolate - not great, but we took it as a peculiarity and went with it. We never ate lunch or dinner there. Dinner was always a buffet style and reviews hadn’t been great. We like to have vinho with dinner thus don’t want to drive - the beach bar a short walk away served us well - basic food and drink, but very affordable and hit the spot for a couple of nights. Very good restaurants are 5-10 minutes drive away (Casa do Abel is highly recommended with a reservation!) The pool area is lovely and has its own bar too. The grounds were immaculate. I found this hotel to be very peaceful. This hotel is a beach resort which harkens back to the past. I loved the feel, and would most definitely go back myself, however, if you happen to be someone with mold/dust allergies, I’d be hesitant to stay as there is carpet everywhere. Carpet that has been there awhile…replacing this would be a huge step forward for the hotel. The beach was one of the most beautiful we saw in the azores…big waves, excellent surfing, but lots of people going into the very warm water. We found this hotel a great spot from which to visit the island.

I thought the property was beautifully situated with a beautiful view of the ocean and hillsides. The entire hotel is nicely appointed. We loved our room and the view from the balcony. The staff were delightful though I thought that the cooking facilities at breakfast were not adequate. They need a proper cooking service for omelettes etc and more than one cook!

The outdated hotel with the non existent service. All staff is nice- but 0 help/ in my case. Nice big rooms with amazing view but rurally outdated- dirty carpets. Scratched walls. No toiletries except of body wash. The pool should bd heated- too cold even at the end of June. Breakfast buffet is ok but the sand for 7 days. Pool bar is good- when there is anybody there to take ur order. The area is very convenient if h have a car

Nous avons passé un très bon séjour, l’hôtel est très bien, les chambres sont vraiment grandes et calmes, les lits très confortables, les membres du personnel sont adorables, Le seul point un peu moins bon serait le restaurant, les repas ne sont pas bons mais ça n’a pas d’importance car il y a de nombreux restaurants à découvrir sur l’île .

Great value for money
Great place to stay. The staff is very friendly, the rooms are spacious and clean. The food is good. The view from the hotel is beautiful. It is very calm and quiet.

Our stay at the Pestana was outstanding. The room was huge, super clean and just perfect for our stay. The breakfast was absolutely delicious every single morning. Everyone who was working made us feel welcome, answered our questions, and just was overall so nice. HIGHLY recommend this hotel!

Fantastic location .tired hotel.When asked for a bottle of water as no drinks in fridge was directed to the bar. Think it should close in Winter months ,a bit like the film The Shining .Dissappointed
