The only mirror or sink in the room was a tiny wet bar sized sink in the room with a small make up mirror mounted beside it. The tv didn't work properly although they did come and fix it the second day. We never could acquire any hand towels or additional washcloths or floor mat, even though the shower sprayed onto the floor because of its poor design. We got 2 washcloths, 1 floor mat, and ultimately, 4 bath towels. But that's it. Even though we asked. Lastly, the refrigerator had had its cord cut off and the attempt to fix it provided power, but it still didn't work, so we had no way to keep things cold. The room served its purpose and the bed was ok, but I wouldn't stay there again.

Very nice room. Friendly staff. Good value! The only two things that were negative: The first is not the hotel’s problem at all, but be warned, the Irish bar next door has absolutely ridiculously loud live music late I to the night! The second negative: you have to run the shower for up to 5mins before you get hot water.

The new "penthouse" is not a penthouse at all. It is two separate rooms. One bed is on the floor, the seagulls don't sleep (so noisy), the blinds in one side doesn't block out any light, the sinks for bathrooms are outside of the room, the rooms had hair/dirt/feathers on the ground and windowsills when we arrived, there wasn't any shampoo/conditioner/soap in showers, the parking situation is super inconvenient, you can hear the pubs (no soundproofing), old air conditioners, and one of the fridges was SO loud that we had to unplug it because it sounded like an engine room.

The fridge was broken, water from the shower sprayed all over the floor due to the shower curtain not being close to long enough, had to run the shower for over 5 minutes before any hot water would come out. It was extremely noisy, if you’re wanting to go to sleep before midnight on a Sunday that won’t happen. When I spoke to staff about the fridge and hot water all I was told was that they would look into it. No compensation offered. If your wanting to go to the pubs etc it’s a convenient location the bed was comfortable.

Great location and in reasonable shape for an old building; it has a classy feel to it and the rooms are beautiful. Unfortunately, the parking situation is awkward (2 blocks away and every time you need to get back into the parkade, you need to first stop at the hotel...which you can't drive to...and get an access card). The biggest issue is the noise for any rooms facing the front; three pubs on the corner all competing for who can be the loudest. The pubs have speakers outside and people congregate out in the street singing and yelling till almost three in the morning. Don't book rooms 10 and 11 on the first, 20 and 21 on the third, 30 and 31 on the third, etc. I had asked for a quiet room and they still gave me a front room...not sure why. After a short night, I wanted to change rooms, but discovered I would need to pay more for a smaller room. And currently, air conditioner in room 31 isn't working...in spite of their insistence that it was "looked at". Its too bad because the location is fantastic.

I love how accessible, clean and affordable the place was. However, my only complain was the exhaust fan in our room was not working. Either way, this place was a great for overnight trip. I will definitely recommend it!

Super well located and walkable. There is a nightclub in the bottom and Government street is pretty noisy on the weekend. The hotel provides ear plugs but if you are a light sleeper and want to go the bed early you may need to ask for a room away from the street. Cute but run down. Totally fine if you are easy going. Friendly staff.

dirty entrance; worn out and chipped furniture; useless TV; poor room lighting; unusable pillows with strong smell; complex shower with no instructions; no room service; no ice and no pop - machine empty; lumpy', uncomfortable bed; thin towels; one-ply toilet paper; no chest of drawers for clothes; very expensive. for twice the price could have stayed at Oak Bay Beach, a 4 star hotel. The Bedford barely rates 1 star.

Your property is in bad need of an update. Not as expected for the price per night. Room was really smelly of old wood fireplace and musty. Lighting is poor in rooms. Décor is rundown and outdated. The bathroom was in poor condition. Staff at front desk are not very friendly. Parking is overpriced and quite a distance away.

Great location, nice, but small rooms, very busy with traffic, the street at the front is closed to vehicle traffic. The parking garage is a big hassle involving picking up and returning a key every time you enter or exit. High end shopping and dining at the doorstep. The The waterfront is 3 blocks away.

Great location - central to everything. Only complaint is that there was only one chair in the room. Difficult to sit as a couple for a cup of coffee in the morn or a glass of wine in the eve.

The location is fantastic and the interior is quaint and dated in a nice way. But it’s not a quiet spot, especially at night. There are three busy restaurants just steps away, and we could easily hear the music and live entertainment. So it’s ideal if you enjoy the nightlife, but not so much if you need quiet to sleep.

Parking garages are less than 6 ft 2” we had a truck and it would not fit on the parking the hotel suggested. Luckily there was outdoor parking close to the hotel.

In general the room was fine for a single night, but the bathroom facilities/shower left a lot to be desired, mini fridge did not keep anything particularly cold, and a full length mirror would certainly be a welcome addition.

Nice room. Jet tub. Fireplace. Large tv. Not many channel options. Across from large mall and many shops etc. harbour two blocks away. I parked in harbour lot which was convenient. Good vibe all around.
