The property is very clean and quaint. I love the courtyard and the pool area. The front desk staff were so nice and welcoming. The room had everything we needed. We definitely will be coming back again.

When we checked in my wife found hair in the sink and something in the hotel room gave me a headache. We found another room close by and returned with in the hour and told the person at the desk we will not be staying and could we get our money back. The person at the desk said he would get with the manager when they got in at 8:00 that night. I sent numerous email to the hotel. The first was on 4/18 with no response. 4/28 I sent another email with no response. 5/9 I sent another email and explained that if I don’t hear from someone I will contact all the travel sites and also the BBB. 5/9 the hotel sent back an email and said that they will check on the issue and they issue a credit it doesn’t fall in our cancellation policy. 5/15 I send another email after I didn’t hear from anyone that of don’t see a credit by Friday I would post on all sites and the BBB. As of today no response or credit.

Place was partly closed either due to construction, didn’t see any sign of that, or too little business. Broken lamp shades. Barking non-service dog next door. Do not recommend this place. Go to a better more expensive place if you can.

The location was perfect for what we needed, close to the beach. It was not very clean, floors were sticky, mold on ceiling by shower. Probably won’t stay again if in the area.

The pool and space is decent, however the price didn't at all match what we originally paid and they did not care to fix it. They said to reach expedia instead. The hotel was not the best but definitely could have been worse.

The room was dated. Toilet moved from floor, sink was not secure on wall and shower caulk was moldy. Besides the bathroom, the room was ok. Location was key for me so that made it worth staying. Pool was large and clean.

There were numerous things in the room that need to be reparied. Inside saftey lock broken, leak under the sink, cup/toothbrush holder hanging from wall, grab bar in tub was not secure, top of nightstand was severly damaged, no deadbolt lock for exterior door. Additionally, the bath towels were more like hand towels. And the AC unit was very noisy.

Room was dirty. Woodwork around doors was filthy! Chipping paint on inside and outside of doors. Ceiling fan was filthy !!! Had a queen room with 2 beds and the mattress were different, one was so old and worn you could feel the springs the other bed was as hard as concrete.The grounds by the pool were nice and the pool was kept nice. The poor staff was working on cleaning rooms from sun up till sundown. This was definitely a first and last for us

Place needs a good cleaning and repairing and painting. Could be so much better. Hair dryer didn’t work, just generally run down. The back courtyard with pool is PRIVATE and generally nice. But the rooms need work. Will not stay there again.

I don't mind a place being old, but I do not like it when: Dirty -large roach running around the bathroom Screen on bathroom window torn-big area-never opened the window Bathroom door was warped & wouldn't close properly Furniture chipped & one drawer in dresser was broken & fell out when opened Clock beside the bed made a "weird" noise - ended up disconnecting it And last but not least-OUR ROOM WAS NEVER CLEANED OR SERVICED- Went to front desk to complain, manager was apologetic but took no action. The only thing this place has going for it is that it is centrally located to downtown Venice, the beach and golf Glad we had only booked a two night stay.

I liked the area, but the actual facility needs some upgrades. Furniture was old and battered. Bathroom only had a crank open window for ventilation. There was no facial tissues in the room. Pool was in great shape. For the price I expected more.

That Island Sun is located in the beautiful city of Venice, and Island Sun is a 30 minute walk to Venice beach and the lovely downtown of Venice.The price to stay there is reasonable. The pool is excellent & heated.

Venice Island Value Spot
Excellent location near beaches and on Island. Great value, refrig, small microwave, grab bar in shower, clean. The only downside was the soft bed. If you have a bad back this might be a problem.

This is a hidden gem. It is a “gently used” property. However, it is extremely clean and the courtyard and pool are exquisite. We love staying here.

Our room had very poor lighting, no usb ports for charging, door frames were very dirty, and rate was too high for the condition of our room. Would not recommend this place.

They are trying but still have problems to fix
Roaches/bugs are a problem. Sink would not drain but they fixed it. Tub would not drain, never fixed. Doors in bad shape lots of sunlight/gaps. Beds were fine. Would not book again.
