My experience at Manor Vail Lodge was extremely disappointing from the moment we arrived.
As soon as we checked in, the manager immediately started talking about an “upgrade” that was never emailed, texted, or discussed with us in advance. We were confused and asked what the upgrade was, but she used vague terms, did not explain properly, and simply took my credit card without clearly communicating anything. There was no effort to make us feel welcome or informed.
When we entered the room, it was shocking. The floors, couch, and bed had visible spots and stains. It was honestly one of the dirtiest hotel rooms I have ever seen. Because of this, we contacted Expedia for help.
When we were asked to come back to the front desk, the manager spoke to us in a very demeaning and dismissive tone, repeatedly saying, “I’m sorry you didn’t like the upgrade,” even though we clearly explained multiple times that our issue was not the upgrade — it was the cleanliness of the room. We requested the basic room we originally booked, but she claimed it was unavailable, which made no sense given that we had just arrived for check-in.
After repeatedly requesting a clean room, she finally gave us another room, which was significantly cleaner than the first one — proving that the issue could have been resolved much earlier with basic professionalism.
Overall, this experience was extremely stressful and unpleasant.
