Great value

Lions Head Inn is a great deal. Listen, if you love skiing on a budget then you can't beat this place. Rooms are comfortable, water is HOT and you can walk to the gondola in 5 minutes or less, great places to eat and shop (if that is what you are into) within quick walk. In-town bus stops right outside the hotel if you want to get go farther than Lions Head. For all those that review and say it needs updating or more amenities you need to go to one of the dozen other places in Lions Head that charge a minimum of double. Face it....Vail is an expensive place to ski and stay and if you are shocked by the prices you probably shouldn't go there. I go there to ski and the mountain is fantastic. I can carry my own skis to the lift.

Hotel Stay

They are tearing this building down and it was to be closed the week after we stayed here. We did not know this when we booked it. The Staff was a fabulous group of young men. Massive leak in the bathroom area into the carpet gave my daughter a bad shock when she went to dry her hair. Was not fixed while we were there. Had to use towels to soak up water. Room not available to be moved to.

Great Location, the best disappointed they stopped serving breakfast and stopped giving cookies in the afternoon. Good Hot tub, friendly staff, clean room, 5 min walk to lift. THREAD BARE Hotel Free WI FI in room

Friendly staff. This is more of a skier hotel, convenience of location to the lifts and town. There are plenty of newer hotels, but you will pay much more to stay there. They will be building a new hotel on the premises in the future....

Close to ski lifts but a little dated

The Lionshead Inn was clean but tired and dated. The internet didn't work in my room and the included breakfast consisted of granola bars,a fruit bowl and iced water.

Disappointing

Great location, but disappointed with the room. Cold showers, problems with toilet, and not properly cleaned. This was in the side-building, not the main building.

Although I've stayed at better hotels for half the price it was convenient due to the public bus schedule for my needs.

location to ski slopes

The front desk staff was pleasant and did the best to accommodate. The hotel is in obvious poor shape and due for remodel. The rooms were extremely uncomfortably hot with no thermostat control. Need to turn down the heat in the rooms since most of us I presume are skiiers with ski equipment and clothing on. Minimal accouterments provided. Coffee cold in lobby by 9 am.

Diamond in the rough, but HURRY!!!

Repeat stay. Nothing has changed much. Service great from friendly staff. Room comfy and clean. Apres snacks and beverages available. Would return for fifth time, but soon to be torn down, so I'm told. Shame. We can't all afford "progress", especially with this convenient location, so close to Gondola, and best little breakfast restaurant in Vail!!!!!

Good room for the price

The Lionshead Inn is a good value for the money. It is close to the lift at Lionshead, the staff is helpful and the hot tub is outdoors but undercover. There are definitely nicer places to stay but they are also twice as expensive.

It'll do

Front desk staff was very nice, and it was close and convenient to ski slopes. But given how much it cost I kept wondering where the money was being put - it clearly wasn't the interior, which must have been really nice in 1982... (Also, don't count on having WiFi.)

low expectations

Location was terrific. We were not expecting much due to the fact that the price was much lower than anything you will find in Vail. However, our room was extremely outdated and sometimes the heating was weak!

Bad management of services

Location is great but services were quite bad. No wi fi connection all week, all week. This is key to understand future weather, connect with friends and plan for next day events. Bed lamp was not working since mfirst day and didn´t fix it. Ice all around the entrances made it difficult and dangerous to walk in and out.

Great place to stay for walking to Vail Lionshead area - but why rate a hotel that is to be razed in 2 months?

You Get What You Pay For (Watch Out!)

King sized room was a king size bed in a room filled with WAY too much furniture from the 70s. We had to move furniture out on the deck to make room to put things down. There was closet space, but for a hotel in a Ski resort, not enough to accommodate gear. Not only was there too much old furniture in the room, there was not remote for the TV. When I called to get one I was told to come to the desk, another building away, to get it. The phone was not plugged in and we could not control the heat in our room. Since we were on the top floor, we had to leave the deck door open so as not to boil at night. The hot tub was big, but was so full of chemicals the water was slightly brown (scary!). Last but not least -- the bathroom (toilet/bath stall was so tiny -- you had to basically step into the tub to shut the bathroom door. I picked this hotel because of the location and the good price (always seeking deals for family accommodations in Vail) -- but would not ask my family to stay here again as we were cramped and uncomfortable. The pictures on the website did not match up to the accommodations we were given.

Close to Shuttle

The hotel is very close to the shuttle but the hotel is tired and has seen better days. The bar is closed and all you get for breakfast is an apple or orange and coffee. We stayed for around $200/night. No complaints, its just an 80's hotel.
