Welcome to Southern Tides, a dreamy beach house ready to welcome your friends and family to a blissful coastal retreat! Renowned interior decorator Jane Coslick has worked her magic in this charming beach house, presenting a simple, natural approach that brings out the beauty and warmth of this spacious and inviting Tybee cottage.

As you step inside, you'll be greeted by wood floors and ceilings, complemented by white walls adorned with colorful, "one of a kind" art, creating a serene and welcoming atmosphere. Comfortable slip-covered sofas and chairs invite you to relax and unwind, setting the stage for memorable moments with loved ones.

The first floor features an open living/dining/kitchen area, boasting a dining table comfortably seating eight, and a kitchen bar with three stools. The kitchen colors of gold and turquoise beautifully accentuate the new kitchen floor and appliances, inspiring culinary delights and enjoyable gatherings. Settle in on the comfortable sofa and chairs while watching TV, and let the low country boil celebrations begin.

The bedroom on this level offers two queen beds, accompanied by a small sitting area and a full bath. Adjacent to this room is a cool and colorful wet bar, fridge, and washer/dryer, along with an additional fridge for drinks and snacks, ensuring convenience for all.

On the second floor, you'll discover four bedrooms and a charming sleeping porch, each offering unique comforts. A king room features a private full bath, while the third room delights with four bunks, providing eight twin beds in total. The fourth room boasts two twin beds and porch access, inviting you to enjoy the refreshing sea breeze. The fifth bedroom offers another king bed and a private half bath. A full bath with a double vanity and a tub/shower combo is conveniently located in the hall, while a lovely little covered porch includes a private shower and an adjoining sitting room, adorned with a denim slipcovered sofa and TV.

Within walking distance, you'll find the beach and the Back River, while the picket fenced-in backyard and pool create a tranquil haven. Tables with chairs and lounge chairs complete this restful picture, offering moments of relaxation and enjoyment.

Amazing place and we had a wonderful stay. Our annual girls beach trip, we usually do Gulf Shores area, decided to give Tybee a visit. It was spectacular. The house was charming and we all loved it!! We are wanting to come again next year and rent the same property. Everyone gives this place A!

Property was very unique and cute although it was hard to accommodate 8 adults comfortably together. Very disappointed that the pool was not usable at all because it was extreme cool water temperature. Nearby pools and the ocean was much warmer.

Everything about this place was amazing! It’s truly a Tybee treasure. Whimsical is an apt description of the entire home- Jan and Bill have thought of every little detail to make it a delightfully refreshing getaway. The only thing that would make it better is if it was on the water—it was an easy walk, though, if we weren’t carrying so much “stuff” down to the beach.

Great with one irritating exception

This was a long-awaited trip with extended family. The day before arriving, we were informed that an HVAC appointment had been scheduled for our first day there. We were told that there was no way they could move the appointment. When they came, we were told it would take an hour. In reality, it was 2.5 hours and, when we checked to see if they were done, the technicians were surly and sassy. Nothing was broken that couldn't have waited until the house was vacant to address, so this was highly inappropriate and irritating. I think they were adding to the air system or something. Other than that, the place couldn't have been more wonderful for our group. Great spaces, fun and comfortable furnishings and the pool was perfect. The location was also just right - removed from hustle and bustle but a quick walk to beaches and amenities.

Owner canceled my booking 5 days before planned arrival.

I stayed at this property in 2024 June 2024 and was highly impressed. Booked again for 6/21 2025 for the whole family to spend a week and owner cancelled reservation 5 days before planned trip. Luckily was able to scramble and get a house on HHI. As nice as first visit was cancelling reservation on such short notice should be known.

Perfect Tybee Getaway

We've stayed at five different properties now on that end of Tybee Island and of those five, this was far and away our favorite stay! Beautiful home, plenty of space, wonderful outdoor/pool area and quick walk to either the ocean or inlet side of beach. Absolutely loved our time there!

Best beach vacation ever

Plenty of room and bathrooms for everyone. Clean, cozy and interesting house. Suggestions: Only a couple wash cloths and hand towels. Only 1 dish cloth and towell. Trees at pool need trimmed - sun only near shallow end and leaves accumulated in pool even if we cleaned it daily. The step replacement carpenter was on the property 3 days. Thank you for reimbursing 10 percent for less privacy and not using front steps. We would stay in this house again- so close to the beach and restaurants. Drew the caretaker was very helpful too.

Fun filled family vacation!

Overall a positive experience. Did have some worries about lead paint exposure for my 2 yr old grandson simply due to the age of the house. Lots of pool fun and beach fun! Very short walk to the inlet and beach. Cute decor and well stocked kitchen.

Property is better in person!!

Such a great house. The house is more modern than the online pictures make it look. I was so pleasantly surprised. They had beach chairs for the beach and it’s walkable, lots of good kitchen stuff, very comfortable beds and even provide travel size shampoo and conditioners! The pool is very shaded and pretty buggy. That was a bummer but otherwise it was good. Good temp lots of places to sit/lay.

The house is a Gem, but the pool and beach disappointing.

This house was amazing overall. Absolutely love all the great interior design touches, and even though this historical house is a tad quirky, the layout actually worked very well for us. Being from Wisconsin, we enjoyed showering outside for the Master Bathroom Shower! Our only disappointment was the pool and back yard area. While we understand trying to keep.it "tropical" and lush, there was just too much foliage and overhead trees that blocked any sunshine. We were there in the last week in August, which were upper 80 degree days, but the shaded backyard was just cool and humid. The pool felt like it was in the mid-upper70s, so none of us adults went in. Only the purple lipped kids as we all tried to "lounge" in the shade. The dark, shaded area was also a bug attraction, so we brought down fly swatters to try and enjoy our "pool time". Wish they would keep all the palm trees, but get rid of get rest of the big canopy like trees, so we could have enjoyed the sunshine at the pool Lastly, nothing on the house, but Tybee was a bit of a disappointment. Pretty dingy, and not very family friendly. Overall we loved the house! Maybe we would come back for am adult.only, off season winter trip
