Coquina Cottage | Pool, Short Walk to the Beach

Splash into Coquina Cottage! Originally built in 1935, Coquina Cottage is a Tybee beach cottage that has been lovingly restored and decorated throughout with an eclectic mix of fun, new furnishings, and revitalized vintage finds. The adorable house pays homage to the past while providing a distinct, charming beach vibe throughout. It's truly a Tybee cottage enthusiast's dream come true. Guests will have a splashing good time in the brand new in-ground pool and patio with an attached jetted spa, ready to refresh and delight guests all year long.

The two-story cottage has five bedrooms, three and a half bathrooms, and sleeping space for up to 12 people. The living room is on the first floor, and it has large windows that let in plenty of natural light. The living room has a sleeper sofa as well as a large flat-screen TV. The adjoining dining room seats up to ten people and connects to the stunning all-new kitchen. The kitchen is fully equipped, with stainless steel appliances, a farm sink, and a vintage-style dining booth where you can enjoy a quick meal. There is also a gas grill in the backyard, which is ideal for cookouts! The two downstairs bedrooms have a king-size bed and two twin beds, and they share a bathroom with a walk-in shower.

The second floor is home to the remaining three bedrooms and a comfortable sitting area with a large flat-screen TV and a delightful screened porch for sipping iced tea on a warm summer's night. Bedroom 3 has a Queen size bed (privately access this room through the screened-in porch or adjoining through another bedroom) , Bedroom 4 has a King size bed with a TV, and Bedroom 5 has 2 Twin beds. There are two full bathrooms on the second, the first with an all-new walk-in shower; the second has a vintage clawfoot tub with a shower.

The cottage is in a beautiful mid-island location. Enjoy the 8'6" X 17' in-ground heated pool and patio with an 8'2" X 8'7" spill-over spa (spa only, no jets). Guests can choose to add optional pool/spa heat for an additional cost of $25 per day (not available in January or February).

Perfect for a more residential feel while still offering easy access to the beach, which is just a short stroll away. Bring your bikes, or rent them while you are here. The home is located on Second Avenue, which is considered part of Tybee's bike trail. This property has parking is available for up to 5 cars.

MINIMUM NIGHT REQUIREMENTS: Minimum night requirements vary by property, dates of stay and usually become more lenient for last-minute bookings.

EXTENDED STAY RENTALS (26+ NIGHTS): All stays require a refundable security deposit to be paid, the amount is included in your online quote. A monthly electrical allowance is assigned according to the bedroom size of the property and has been chosen as this amount should not be exceeded with reasonable usage at the property. Please review your rental agreement for a complete list of terms and policies.

Close to the beach !

Overall the properly worked well for our group and the listing company was easy to contact . It was a quick walk to the beach and the cars stopped for beach traffic across 80. We were very disappointed that we couldn’t use the pool during our stay and that the house had a leak into the living room . The TVR staff couldn’t help a lot with those two problems .

This is the worst stay that we have experienced. Would not recommend this property. We came from all different states to celebrate a memorial for my mother in law. The ac overflowed, flooding dinning room and rugs. There was mold in vents and bathrooms, pool was dirty and the pool net was broken, there was beer caps and cigarettes all over. We had to move due to having two people with asthma in our family and flooding situation. This all happened within 4 hours of arriving and they are refusing to refund a significant amount (2700) so BEWARE!!! It’s been a NIGHTMARE trying to recoupe our money from this place. It wasn’t OUR fault all this happened…0/10 would recommend.

Wonderful Family Vacation

This location was perfect... steps to the beach, near a park, and with a pool! our children (and the adults too) enjoyed a fun and relaxing vacation. The house was lovely... comfortable and a perfect mix of bedrooms and shared spaces. it was a quiet and peaceful location.

Good location

We really enjoyed our stay! Location is great - 5 min walk to the beach and 20 min walk to shops and restaurants. The house itself was nice and spacious, although the layout of the bedrooms was a little strange but it worked for our family of adults teens. My only negative comment is that the pool is under several trees that dumped leaves and pollen pods into the pool constantly. Although we did our best to clean it with the skimmer (and also called mgmt to send someone out), but it was an uphill batle we were not able to win. A pool vaccuum on site would have been ideal. Outside of that, we had a lovely stay!

Great house and location

We felt this house was perfect for 3 families with children. It was bigger than we expected and had plenty of room to relax and not feel we were on top of each other. The location is a couple blocks from the beach and walking distance with no problem. Overall, we all had a great experience. I would book this house again.

Nice house

Perfect for 2 families or a family with teenagers who want their own space. 3 bedrooms upstairs, one with 2 single beds in it. 2 full bathrooms.sitting area and screened porch. Downstairs has 2 bedrooms, one with 2 single beds. 1 1/2 baths. Overall very nice stay.

Good property overall

Great location & accommodated our party of 12 very well (8 adults & 4 kids from 3-6). Close walk to beach & loved the 2 living rooms as one became the "kids tv/playroom". Would have given it 5 stars except for a few complaints, nothing major. Pool was very dirty upon arrival. We had to call Tybee Rentals about a air conditioning issues, which they promptly responded to, & told them about the pool at the same time. They said they would send someone to look at, but never did in the 5 days we were there. As pool owners ourselves, we understand that leaves get in the pool with a slight wind. We were fine with that & I cleaned all of the leaves out upon our arrival & continued that at least 2 times every day. But the bottom was covered with dirt & sand almost to the point that no one wanted their kids swimming in it. I used the brush & net & was able to get a lot out after 1.5 hrs in the hot sun on arrival & continued to clean on it every day we were there. Whoever came in after us go the benefit of a much cleaner pool than we did. I think the property managers/owners should ensure that each guest has a clean pool when they arrive for the price we are paying for this property. Other minor complaints that would have greatly improved our experience which I wish there was enough space provided in the review to elaborate on, could have easily been taken care of & would have greatly improved our overall stay. But, on the whole, the property was good for our needs.

I’d like to start by saying we are from the FL panhandle. So finding a beach to vacation at is super hard for us. We absolutely fell in love with this place. Tybee has such a nice, laid back atmosphere so it was great for a relaxation getaway. Coquina Cottage was so quaint & inviting. So much character! The kitchen was well stocked & had everything we needed. We couldn’t get the downstairs heaters to work & maintenance was there within the hour to fix the problem. Pool & hot tub was an added bonus. This is a great place for a family or friends getaway. PS…the Sundae Cafe is a MUST for dinner. And Chamacos is a must for lunch. Can’t go wrong with either one of those.
