The service at the hotel is excellent. It's in a great location for walking around. Parking in Tuxtla is generally congested but spots can be found. The rooms are small. It is several small blocks to the center plaza (downtown). If you have a problem the staff will correct it. The heat pumps are super nice for AC.
In Chiapas, toilet paper goes in the waste can because the plumbing is delicate.
The hotel provides a small bottle of water each day of your stay, enough for an emergency and brushing but more water must be purchased. I purchased bottled water at a nearby pharmacy. There are many.
The hotel breakfast in the morning is nice. Cream/milk in coffee is not a norm in this part of Mexico so ask, bring or buy a little. There is a huge store very nearby, bodega, with groceries and household items.
There are also many excellent restaurants. There are some big banks with ATMs close.
The Marimba Park is only two blocks away and is a TREASURE. Very quiet and tranquil in the morning and lively with bands and dancing at night. Plenty of sitting spots. It is safe and people go out of their way to help, if you ask. Chatting is a past time here.
We found a beautiful river walk nearby (to the north of the hotel across Central) and the best hair salon in the city! Hair Love Salon.
This visit has been delightful. I hope to return to Tuxtla.
