The "Tonto House" is your perfect home base for all your outdoor adventures! Rejuvenate your spirit with clean air and breath taking views of Tonto Basin and two mountain ranges all from your patio. The Tonto House borders the Tonto National Forest and provides the serinity you need to relax and enjoy the outdoors. Secluded yet minutes to gas and groceries. Tonto House offers fun for the whole family with a full size billiards table, Horse Shoe Pit, Bat mitten and Bean bag in the Hole game. Inside a separate lounge room with big screen TV is a cozy place for entertainment or just relaxing and talking about the days adventures. After a day of fun and memories, the patio is the perfect place to unwind, barbecue and enjoy your favorite beverage around the fire pit. The Tonto House is the place where special times and good memories happen!

This house is truly a gem! It’s so quiet and the views are spectacular! My husband and I ended up spending more time at the house than we did with family because we were having so much fun. We played pool and horseshoes and took a hike.

The house itself is great and the pool table / games saw a lot of activity from our teenage son and his friend. We came to spend the weekend on Apache Lake and this home was only about 15 minutes to the Apache Trail turnoff by Roosevelt.I will mention that the property is located down a single lane dirt / gravel road - and it required some excellent trailering skills to get our truck and ski boat turned around in the driveway. So be mindful of that if you will be towing anything.I do wish the owner had been a bit more accessible - as there were a couple messages prior and during our stay that went unaddressed or the delayed response made our original inquiry irrelevant. But I am going to assume that’s due to us staying on a holiday weekend and I understand that the owner may have been busy. It would absolutely not prevent me from staying here regularly due to the comfort and convenience of the property!Thank you Greg and the Tonto House for a fantastic weekend full of lifelong memories on the lake! I’m sure we’ll see you again!

Memorial weekend gem

We frequent Lake Roosevelt on holidays and have stayed at multiple places, this trip was a friend group of 8 and we had the absolute BEST time. Perfect location in town but close to the lake. The privacy and peaceful morning wakeup of nature was impeccable! A few of us have high oressure jobs and it takes a while to unwind, here it was immediate! The house was BEAUTIFUL, clean and stocked with games and a welcoming Auora. It was better then listed! We will ABSOLUTELY be staying here again! Thank you!

Cozy/fun lake getaway

We absolutely loved the property! It was spacious and clean and comfy! We enjoyed the outside patio area and bbq along with the pool table! We’ll definitely book again for our next Roosevelt trip!

Awesome house not far from Lake Roosevelt

The house was very clean and provided everything that we needed. It was very nicely furnished. Our purpose for staying there was to enjoy the lake, so we weren't really there all that much, but it was very comfortable when we were. We were able to park our boat trailer there at the house, which was great, since we were able to get a boat slip at Roosevelt.The only thing that wasn't very good was the WIFI, which was a little disappointing, as Verizon coverage is very spotty there in Tonto Basin.Thank you for having such an awesome house for us to stay at. We will stay again.

We were attending a 50th this was close to the event. Easy to find and beautiful view. Furnished for comfort. Nice fenced in yard with losts of games we didn't have time to use. I would highly recommend

Stay

The house was just as expected when we arrived. The only thing that was weird is the front door was wide open (guessing it didn’t get closed properly and the wind got it?) our kids were scared as it was dark when we arrived. We had a fun time playing games and relaxing in between fishing tournament times. I was shocked to receive a message from the owner after our departure. It was a very rude and inappropriate comment about how we left the house. It was so shocking I messaged him for clarification and truly told my husband, maybe he has another Vrbo and got the two mixed up as we did dishes, cleaned counters, picked up and put all back where we found it. The only thing we forgot to do was take the trash out and our daughter said she may have left the horseshoes out in the backyard. Again, the property was exactly as expected but the message from the owner after was so uncalled for and out of line that I wouldn’t stay here not recommend to anyone.

Great place to stay!

Beautiful home with excellent accommodations indoor and out! Lots of space for all guests. The road up to the property is a bit narrow and the rocks on the road will make you slow down but we made it up hauling a full 20 ft trailer with our 1 ton dually. Owners are very easy to contact. We would stay again for sure!

Beautiful home with great amenities. It was our home base for 6 days while we explored the Tonto Basin and much more.It was great to have the fenced yard for our dog. Loved the fire pit and covered gazebo. Kitchen was well appointed, views were great. Cant say enough. We loved it

What a beautiful home! Quiet neighborhood on hill overlooking Tonto Basin. Beautiful views sunrise and sunset. House is completely outfited with qualifty beds and furnishings. Kitchen has everything you need for making meals. Fenced yard for keeping track of children and pets. Would stay there again in a minute.

Mouse (& maintenance) issues

Noticed droppings on the kitchen window sill, counter tops & under the sink, & found a live mouse in a drawer. Notified the owner & they came & set out one box under the sink & siren type alarms throughout the house. We still had to wipe down & sanitize the counters we used. Noticed many of door knobs were not secure onto doors, a water spout on sink for strained water was not secure on the sink, and mouse droppings on tv armoire in the living room & other window sills. Did not supply anymore than 3 kitchen towels & one dishcloth which we accidentally used to wipe off mouse droppings on kitchen counter requiring us to wash in washing machine. Exit door in laundry room had duct tape over what would be for the doggy door. Poorly stocked for garbage bags.
