Good value as long as you don't want to train
The staff was extremely courteous as is normal in Japan. The room itself is somewhat small, but good for the price. The room is rather worn, though, and could use an update. Primary reason for a low review is that I booked this hotel on the criteria that it has a fitness room, but when I checked in I was informed that the gym costs 2200 yen per use - more than 10% of the cost of the room!

Location is great, close to JR and subway, with convenient stores around. buffet in restaurant is not expensive, but food selection is limited, so better go out for find cheaper and better meal selections. Most hotel staff are polite and helpful, except for the one who checked me in, which I don't understand why his attitude was not friendly. There are limousine buses stop right in front and I booked tickets from front desk so very convenient. There is a laundry room so extremely easy to clean clothes but the dryers don't work quite well so we took all clothes back to hotel to hang-dry them

由於疫情關係，我和太太差不多已有五年未有入住這間酒店了。酒店依舊方便，但不足之處是減少了職員的服務。我們登記入住時有四件行李的，幾年前仍有職員殷勤協助，但是今次要由自己搬動。其次是上利木津巴士往機場時，也沒有像前幾年前有職員協助搬動行李及給予行李領取牌子。

Hotel metropolitan is best hotel in Tokyo for me. Staff are great, the hotel is clean, nice restaurants and bars.. you never regret staying here. This hotel located by Ikebukuro station where offers many amenities and easy to anccessing everywhere Tokyo, Yokohama, and more. I love to stay this hotel next time in Japan again.

ホテルが駅近なので、どこへ行くにも電車でのアクセスが良い。今回は、ホテルまで自家用車で行ったのですが、地下駐車場を利用出来て、しかもチェックアウトした日の午後4時までは何度でも入出庫可能な所も便利でした。朝食も、とても美味しくて文句のつけどころがありません。また利用したいと思います。

Walking distance to everything you might need for exploring Tokyo. Super convenient location for those need to travel into other parts of Tokyo by train. Several restaurants and bars less than 10 minutes walk from the hotel.

The property is right across the street from Ikebukuro train station and very close to department stores and many restaurants. Everything is basically within walking distance. The staff was excellent! They were very helpful with assisting in finding different types of restaurants and shops and were very friendly. I give the staff an A .

This is our second stay and once again the property its facilities and staff delivered to the highest standard. The food in restaurants is delicious - we had breakfast and dinner on property often and the food was excellent. The staff is very professional, friendly and always available and willing to help/assist - whether it be booked bus back to airport, storing luggage if you have side trip and coming back for return stay to locating a safety pin😁 The shopping and dining area around the hotel is diverse and bustling and the metro is in close proximity. We highly recommend the hotel!

Classy hotel tucked away on West side of Ikebukuro. So being away from the hustle of the east side of the station yet being so so near makes it pretty convenient. Great to have up to 3 Beef Don places most opening till late and one is 24hrs right next to hotel. 2-3 Convenience stores a stone throw away. Coin laundry although overused by many guests was good to have. Airport Limo Bus to Narita also picks up from this hotel making it a god-send for us. Overall would recommend again to others.

Excellent property, staff are vey professional, excellent service, beds are Uber comfortable. Food in restaurants lovely! Staff are very accommodating as we travelled to Kyoto for the weekend and the hotel has agreed to hold our main luggage until our return stay at end of weekend. And currency exchange machine next to reception give excellent rates! We highly highly recommend this property! So happy to have found it on Expedia.

A very convenient hotel to stay at! Though it can get confusing as to which exit is best to get out of from ikebukuro station , but it’s a very convenient location once you’re used to it! Also the room isn’t as big as it seems and it was missing a lot of plugs , but if you’re solo travelling this place is amazing!

Big City Hotel. We were a bit shocked that they charge fro the gym and eating options at the hotel were way out of our price range so always ate elsewhere. Bus to the Airport was helpful but also expensive.
