«We loved staying at 360 king. The whole experience start to finish was incredible. We were greeted by Bethany and Julia and two gentlemen (owner) who welcomed us and helped with our luggage. Our apartment was beautifully decorated and spotless! The bed was one of the comfiest beds I’ve slept in. They provided a white noise machine and even earplugs. Biggest surprise was that the hairdryer even had a diffuser!!! Important and unusual for girls with curly hair. Bethany and Julia were sweet, ...

My only complaint is that the address on hotels.com is the mailing address not property address. The address takes you to a law office. So apple map the name of the property and you will get there. «Nice hotel but a bit far away from city center, so you had to take the Shuttle bus (15 minute drive) provided by the hotel (6 USD for a day ticket). The WIFI provided from the hotel was poor, and wasn't what you would expect in 2015. Pool area was nice.»

The only confusion I had was that I prepaid for breakfast and didn't tell them at the breakfast nor was I asked if it was prepaid.Thankfully, I confirmed at checkout and they refunded my breakfast charges. «My son and I stayed here for 3 nights. We had 2 beds. Discovered soon that it was a humid room. Day 2, in the evening, we discovered a lot of insects that seem to come out of the AC. The Hotel quickly gave us a new room, but only with 1 bed. The Wifi in the new room did not work very well. Went down to the front desk around 11.45 pm, an was told to go out in the hotel where wifi was available. Did not hear anything more from the hotel. Will not stay here again. Breakfast was great. »

"Amazing hotel, wonderful people and great hospitality. Everyone made you feel welcome from the second you walked in. Valet parking guy saved my day - he was so friendly. People at check-in were all so helpful and kind. Room was cozy and interior lovely. Bathroom had a great size -loved the shower. Breakfast basket day 1 was fantastic -a little less great day 2 but still cute and I enjoyed having it delivered to the door. Rooftop restaurant food was very nice and the server/bartender very serviceminded. The restaurant check-in staff looked like they did not want to be there - there were 3 of them doing nothing (no guests except for the people at the bar counter mid afternoon Friday) - it was not a friendly welcome. Decided to ignore them because the guy behind the bar was very customer focused. Same strange attitude when I left. Library was cozy and worked well as a place to work. Overall an amazing spot with a great location. The people made my stay wonderful and just what I needed after a hectic work week and lots of travelling. Thank you. "

"Andrew Pinckney Inn is a wonderful and charming hotel centrally located in beautiful Charleston. The only thing that dragged our experience down was the sleeping-coach, which was ready to be changed. It was really horrible to sleep on. Beside this, the hotel was so lovely with a great breakfast in a charming top floor. To our surprise, they even had an afternoon-hour of complementary wine and cheese. Unfortunately it was a quite early in the afternoon, so we did not make it back to it in time. So perhaps an idea to move to a bit later, to enable time for guests to be back from day-activities. "

The Dock Street Theatre is Charleston's last surviving hotel from the antebellum period. The silhouette of its wrought iron balcony against the spire of St. Philip's church may be the single most photographed spot in the city. The main portion of the building was constructed around 1809 as Planter's Hotel. The hotel was built by Alexander Calder and his wife, who did so by renovating several pre-existing buildings at the site. The main entrance may not have been built until 1855 by J.W. Gamble. The hotel was used extensively by planters from the midlands of South Carolina, who traveled to Charleston during horse-racing season. It was noted for its wonderful food and drinks during this era, and the South's famous Planter's Punch may have originated here. Guests to the hotel passed through the recessed porch with brownstone columns, into the lobby, and up a grand staircase that ascended to a drawing room. While much of the interior has been altered, these elements of the antebellum hotel remain and were adapted in subsequent uses of the building. A series of additions to the hotel throughout the 19th and 20th centuries can be easily identified by differences in brick coloration. This theater is said to have been the first building built specifically for theatrical performances in America. Planter's Hotel occasionally housed one of the city's theatrical troupes, which performed at the nearby New Theatre during the mid-19th century. The most notable actor of this troupe was Junius Brutus Booth. Booth was the patriarch of an outstanding family of actors, which included John Wilkes Booth, President Lincoln's assassin. Junius Booth, who stayed at the Planter's Hotel, allegedly tried to kill his manager here in 1838. Today the Dock Street Theatre is home to the Charleston Stage Company, South Carolina's largest professional theater production company, and houses the city's Cultural Affairs office as well as The City Gallery, an exhibition space for local artists.
