Apartment and building are modern, clean, comfortable, well equipped, secure.
Access to the rocky north end of Langosta beach is a quarter mile (10 minute walk) away.
The 7th floor 2-level gym has 2 treadmills and an elliptical on the 2nd level facing a window with an ocean view and air conditioning. The lower level has some strength training equipment. It was clean and disinfectant spray and paper towels were available.
The apartment is deceptively advertised as ocean view, but the north facing balconies only offered small glimpses of the ocean in the distance (the building is 1/4 mile inland) over the treetops to the west.
AC is only in the bedrooms, not the living room and kitchen, and Costa Rica is steamy hot.
Lots of noise from traffic and people starting in the early AM into the night. Very little in the way of shopping, or restaurants close by. Daytime heat and humidity make the minimum 1km walk to the nearest grocery store very unpleasant. One must drive through crowded, congested Tamarindo to get to any other shopping, better grocery stores and to get in and out of the area.
Bugs: Apartment is on the 5th floor but the main bathroom floor always had a few tiny ants crawling about and one night my wife was terrified by a huge water bug (roach about 2 inches long) in the main bathroom sink. Apparently this is not unusual, as the apartment stocks roach spray which I used and found the bug dying some time later on the bathroom floor.
