The Space:

Olive Sanctuary by Tiny Away is just 2 hours from Melbourne, located in the rural town of Taggerty. It offers an olive farm stay within a tranquil olive grove overlooking a peaceful dam. Watch kangaroos in their natural habitat, take in the vast open spaces, and explore nearby attractions like Lake Mountain Alpine Resort, Stevenson Falls, Lake Eildon, Cathedral Range State Park, and Rainforest Gallery. Stay in a tiny house that blends sustainable living with the raw beauty of Victoria’s countryside.



A comfortable, 139-square-foot tiny home with abundant natural bushland, easy access to water, split air conditioning, a kitchenette, cooking equipment, and excellent bathroom facilities. These amenities include an eco-friendly cassette toilet with a removable waste holding tank, hand basin, and gas-heated shower—making it a perfect choice among relaxing holiday homes.



IMPORTANT NOTE: Fires are not permitted on total fire ban days or during fire restrictions, and use of the fire pit is at the landhost’s discretion for safety. Please contact the landhost for further clarification.



As an added note, tank water is limited—please use it sparingly to help conserve this valuable resource.



Guest Access:

Guests may access the tiny home and nearby areas. For safety, children must be supervised, and guests should not enter the olive grove or dam areas without the owner’s consent. Walking or picnicking is welcome in approved nearby groves.



Advisory:



- Guests are kindly advised to bring their own BBQ essentials and necessities, including charcoal or gas (if applicable), fire starters, cooking utensils, and cleaning supplies.

Olive Sanctuary by Tiny Away is located two hours from Melbourne in the rural town of Taggerty, surrounded by Cathedral Range's rugged peaks. Explore trails in Cathedral Range State Park or enjoy fishing where the Acheron and Goulburn Rivers meet. The history of this region is rooted in its 19th-century gold rush and dairy farming heritage, now offering a simple, rural retreat.



Local highlights include winter snow activities at Lake Mountain Alpine Resort, a scenic walk to the iconic 84-metre Steavenson Falls in Marysville, and exploring Lake Eildon’s vast shoreline framed by forests and rolling hills. For outdoor adventures, Cathedral Range State Park offers rugged mountain landscapes for all skill levels, while the Rainforest Gallery at Mount Donna Buang features an elevated walkway and observation platform with stunning views of Victoria’s cool temperate rainforest.



Getting Around:

By Car:



- Olive Sanctuary is about 120 kilometers from Melbourne CBD, which takes roughly 2 hours by car.

- The route is accessible for 2WD vehicles.



By Public Transport:



- The nearest public transport option is a train from Melbourne to Lilydale Station.

- From Lilydale, you can take a bus to Taggerty.

- There is no local taxi service available.



By Flight:



- The closest major airport is Melbourne Tullamarine, about 2 hours away by car from Taggerty.



Other Things to Note:

- Gas BBQ Grill is available

- Be aware of snakes during the summer

- Smoking is not allowed on the property

- Cooking inside the tiny house is not permitted

- No unregistered guests or visitors are allowed

- Expect Limited Connectivity as the tiny house is set in a rural locality

- Mobile reception has good signals for Telstra and Optus; no signals for other telco lines

- Make sure to turn off the lights, AC, electronics, close windows and doors when leaving

- We would like to advise guests that longer stays or later check-outs will incur an additional charge



Safety Guidelines



- No walking near dams

- Kids must be under close watch by their parents

- For biosecurity reasons, do not bring soil, weeds, or live creatures onto the farm



Important note:



- Due to the nature of the property, abundant wildlife may be present in the surrounding areas

- For stays of 3 nights or more, an additional cleaning fee will be collected to help maintain the cassette toilet and ensure a clean and fresh experience for all guests. We appreciate your understanding.
