SeaMe House I

SeaMe House, one of the most photographed houses in Symi, is located right on the waterside of “Gialos” in Kato Harani Area. Arriving at the harbor which is surrounded by beautiful hills you may see the house laying in front of you amongst magical layers of background colors and contrasts. Small fishing boats tied on the stone paved deck right in front of it, finish up this spectacular “painting” picture.

The space
Symi is known for its outstanding architecture and this house built in 1899 is no exception to it. SeaMe I is the lower part of SeaMe, our two-story house – you may check our entire listing SeaMe I & II. It has its own private entrance from the street level. It is a beautifully renovated autonomous house, combining the local cozy traditional style, yet providing all modern amenities for an unforgettable stay. Relaxing on our little outdoor furniture that can be placed right on top of the waterfront paved deck, guests can enjoy the most amazing views of the picturesque Symi island, the sailing of boats, yachts and ferries from and to the Gialos port or have a swim in the blue water right in front.

SeaMe I is divided internally into two levels. Its ground level consists of a living room and dining area, an open space kitchen, a spacious bedroom with a double bed and ensuite bathroom and a guest WC. On the upper level there is a smaller room with a single bed. This room is ideal for single adult or a young kid conveniently located next to the big double room. It is separated with a gypsum wall partition and curtains for privacy. The guest WC with the shower enclosure right under this room on the ground level may be only used by the tenant of this bedroom. On the far end of the first level is another bedroom with a double bed and a private ensuite bathroom. Total number of visitors 5.

SeaMe I house is decorated with a local touch of furniture, textiles and handcrafted painted ceilings and the Symian style ‘Musandra’ bedrooms providing a unique experience of the traditional living style.

Guest access
The property’s convenient location in the so called ‘Harani’ area provides easy access to the main tourist attractions such as the market, museums, restaurants, cafes, shops and bars. ‘Kali Strata’, the old stone staircase that links the ‘Gialos’ (port area) with the upper town called ’Horio’ offers breathtaking views of the island and can be easily reached from the property within a 5-10 minutes walking distance. Also, boat transfers to various beaches are a few minutes away on foot.

Other things to note
You may get to Symi in two ways -either by flying to Rhodes or to Kos island - 50 min flight. From there on, you have to get a speedboat that will take you here in 1 or 1,5 hours respectively. Both options are fine, it is only a matter of choice as to how long will be the waiting time on connection (to the speedboats) in each case. The speedboat will drop you off at "Roloi" area which is only a few meters away from the house (160 m).
A third choice is to board on the bigger boats departing from Pireaus Port and arrive directly in Symi the next day. The drop off point for these boats is the at the other side of the harbor around 1,6 kilometers from our house.
