REST, RELAX, RETREAT... Are you longing to get away from the grind and unwind in the quiet countryside? You will enjoy this beautiful, pet-friendly cottage retreat in its peaceful setting where you can watch sunsets from the hot tub, enjoy sitting around the firepit on the patio or simply relax inside. You will be in close proximity to 11,000 acre Lake Shelbyville, the heart of IL Amish country and the Little Theater, the only professional theater between Chicago and St. Louis.

The Space
As you enter the front door, you will immediately notice the open and inviting floor plan of this cottage, coupled with a modern farmhouse decor. The dining and kitchen area, with its farmhouse table (which expands to seat 12), kitchen island and coffee bar, is spacious enough to host a small retreat, cozy enough for a small family dinner and intimate enough for a couple’s getaway.

The Kitchen
The kitchen features a refrigerator with a drink dispenser and an ice maker, a dishwasher, an oven/range that has convection capabilities, and a microwave. It comes fully stocked with dishes, utensils, glasses, cups, silverware and cookware for all your eating and cooking needs. The coffee bar features a Regular and a Keurig Coffee Maker. Complimentary coffee is provided.

The kitchen opens up into a comfortable living room area where you can relax on the large sofa and dual reclining loveseat and watch a movie or game on the 55” smart TV. There is also a DVD player, movies and an electric fireplace available for your enjoyment.

Where You'll Sleep
Two Bedrooms feature queen-size beds and a third bedroom has 2 extra-long twin-size beds. These beds can be pushed together to make one large bed if desired. For additional guests, the living room also has a queen-size sleeper sofa. There are convenient charging ports on both sides of the queen-sized beds for your electronics.

2 Full Bathrooms
Both bathrooms feature spacious walk-in showers with glass doors and come stocked with plenty of plush towels for your stay. In the second bathroom, you’ll also find a convenient laundry area, with the toilet and shower elegantly set apart for added privacy and ease.

Outdoor Patio Area
You will enjoy sitting outside on the patio around a fire watching the sun go down, listening to the night sounds or relaxing in the hot tub, a guest favorite. Outdoor patio area features a firepit and a table and chairs under a pergola with lights strung on top. A charcoal grill is provided for the avid grillers. So whether you are grilling a steak or enjoying a good old-fashioned hamburger, we've got you covered. Charcoal and wood are provided. At the end of the day, you can relax in the hot tub and watch the moon and stars. You may even hear a horse and buggy go clip-clopping through the quiet night or hear a distant train whistle blow. The hot tub area is complete with a fence that provides a wind break as well as a bit of privacy.

Prairieview Cottage Retreat is located along a main highway but is set far enough back from the road that you will still enjoy privacy and won’t be bothered by traffic noise. You will be surrounded by grain and hay fields, have access to a small pond and at night you can hear the sounds of insects, bull frogs and owls. The owners live on the property, but a row of trees separates the main house from the cottage so you will have your own space to enjoy.

Other things to note
This cottage has no steps and has a wide entrance so is perfect for handicapped individuals.

Prairieview Cabin is across the driveway, close to the pond. There may be guests staying there as well so we just ask that you be respectful of their privacy.
