The hotel provides an experience rather than a simple practical place to sleep. You experience living in a country mansion and sleep and eat in luxurious surroundings. The location is superb with beautiful views and the crowning glory is Rueben who manages the hotel and is always available for advice, help and friendly conversation. Worth every penny and a unique place to stay.

Scottish Hospitality

Beautiful 9 bedroom mansion with gorgeous decor and setting. The staff are top notch and lovely. What a pleasant surprise to have a made to order breakfast in the morning. It was sooooo good! My only issue was that there isn’t a common area to lounge about in and read or relax like a library or sitting room just the lovely breakfast dining room.

The cab fare from the hotel to St. Andrews golf course is around £13 one way. If I would’ve known that we would’ve stayed by the golf course. We took a cab 5 times as it was the only way to get to town and back to the hotel. Visitors should be aware of this before they book.

Top class country home stay

We had a lovely overnight stay at Eden Mansion. Reuben was the perfect host and was pleasant and helpful with information about eating out. Our room was absolutely beautiful and we would not hesitate to stay here again.

Eden Mansion was lovely. Gracious welcome to a beautiful house and grounds. Our room was large with big windows overlooking the gardens with a modern bathroom and all the amenities. They had contacted us earlier with suggestions and contacts for reservations at area restaurants, which was very thoughtful. Even though there were other guests, we did not hear them and had a glorious breakfast alone with classical music playing looking out at the gardens on a sunny morning. Breakfast was elegant, with a large spread of fruits, juices, pastries and cereals as well as a choice of full breakfasts. I had eggs royale: eggs Benedict with smoked salmon instead of bacon and it was perfect. The whole stay was like beings guests in a friend's country house, while they are not there, and their staff takes beautiful care of you. I would heartily recommend it!!

Best accommodation

This is one of the houses you always wished to stay in. From the first glimpse after entering the gate until the last one when you sadly leave your stay at Eden Mansion will be a perfect one. If you are a fan of Downtown Abbey and dreamt of being one of the family, here you can feel it. Our suite was perfect in every detail, the staff is very nice and personal and anticipates your wish. It was a pity that we only stayed for one night - we will do better next year and enjoy this beauty longer.

Simply wonderful

Probably one of the best places we've ever stayed and beats some of the lovely, elegant 5* hotels we've stayed in around the world. The staff were engaging, room well appointed and beautiful and building simply stunning. Loved our stay.

Beautiful Rooms, Not in the Center of Things

This is a wonderful, classic mansion with clean, comfortable rooms. It's about 10 minutes outside St. Andrews, and is really quiet. The staff were excellent, and the breakfast was quite good. Pricey, but worth a splurge.

Comfortable but lonely hotel

The hotel and the grounds were amazing. However, we hardly ever saw the staff. The hotel is only 9 rooms, I believe, and with it being such a small place, we were not told if there even was anything to do there. We were shown our room and that was that. Sort of an odd experience and since there is no phone in the room or any front desk person, it was a lonely spot. There is also no air conditioning. I would have thought this would have been more clearly stated somewhere. If it was I missed it, and I wish I knew going into it. It's a beautiful location and building, but it would have been helpful to know some of this going into our stay. Finally, the hotel does not have a street number, and it's on a curve in the road, so the first time finding it was a challenge.

Disappointing

This is a wonderful manor house and you are treated like the lord of the manor. But at this price point, the hotel misses the mark--more like a B and B in rural Scotland--faulty radiator, burnt out bathroom light on arrival, shower non functional or with tepid water, hard-boiled eggs benedict royale. The staff, however, were great and the setting and rooms are exquisite.

Right out of Downton Abbey

The service at Eden Mansion is absolutely superb. Immaculately clad butlers right out of Downton Abbey. As I was leaving, I muttered to myself that I had left my phone in my room and before I could say anything an attendant dashed upstairs to fetch it. I could not have been more impressed with Eden Mansion!
