Ocean Front Duplex with Views! Dog Friendly! Free Wifi!

Let the surf lure you to Surfside Cottage South, a cozy 2 bedroom, 1 bath ocean front duplex perched on a bluff overlooking the beautiful Pacific! With ocean views from the living room and the deck you will be sure to enjoy the sights, the sounds, and the fresh, salty smell of the sea.

With the open concept living/dining/kitchen, you will be able to relax after a fun filled day. Slide open the door to the deck and enjoy the outdoors, the view, and the surfside swells during those long summer days. Even the winter storms can be fun to watch as they blow in from the sea, steered by the jet stream, they flow like a meandering river of air. Watch for whales, birds, seals, and sea lions while grilling up your favorite catch of the day. One bedroom has a comfy queen bed and the second bedroom has a full size bed. They both share a bath in the hall. This is a duplex so if you need more room for family and friends, reserve Surfside Cottage North. While this is ocean front with wonderful views, the beach access is a short drive either north or south of the home.

Surfside Cottage South is the perfect jumping off point to any part of the Central Oregon Coast you plan to enjoy. Bring your kayaks and standup paddleboards becuase this home is a short 2-minute drive south to Brian Booth State Park and the gorgeous Beaver Creek area, popular for paddle sports and wildlife viewing. You are just a short drive to Newport where you can visit the Oregon Coast Aquarium, Yaquina Head Lighthouse, or walk along a working bayfront and enjoy fresh seafood either cooked to perfection onsite or bought off a boat for you to prepare at home.

Vehicles: Licensed for 1 (Strictly enforced)
Standard: 2 night minimum; Summer & Holidays: 3-4 night minimum.

Age Requirement: The primary registered guest must be at least 26 years of age. The majority of guests must be over 25, or children under adult supervision.

This home does not allow cat guests or other non-human, non-canine visitors. Dogs are welcome at this home but must be registered in advance and paid prior to arrival. Fantastic view. If you want to watch the sunset into the ocean this is perfect. Nice deck ,big windows for a great view. Check in is difficult if you dont communicate before you get to the house. There is very little to no signal. So check communication before you leave Newport.Our host did get a text through with the instructions to get in.It is supposed to be smoke free but clearly a previous owner or guest smoked inside.Over all a lovely stay.

Clean and dated

This property was very dated but very clean. Very small. Decorated nicely. The TV in the bedroom was not fully functioning and the hot water heater in one bedroom did have a sour odor that never really went away. Our host graciously moved us last minute due to the prior tenants smoking in the unit- but the smell still permeated our side of the duplex. We didn’t spend a lot of time in the unit so didn’t have to deal with it until bedtime. My mistake- but never confuse Oceanview with ocean access. There are no stairs or path to the beach at this property. All nearby pathways are private property. Host did let us check in early and was prompt in answering any questions :)

Underwhelmed

Property is very old and dated. Front door is bubbling with rust, nice beds and bedrooms small but cute, floor is sloping and uneven becarfule when you walk down the hall. Great views of the ocean but the deck is rotten and has broken boards, you can easily fall through the deck if you step wrong. Homeless people walk through the parking lot. the bathroom and shower remind me of a cheap hotel it works if you like your shower head at 4 ft 10 inches. back yard is trashed and junky. for the price per night find a better place to stay

This was a perfect place for our trip! So beautiful inside and out. The only downfall was not having beach access right off of the property but it was only about one mile away to the closest and it was great.

Great property with decent privacy, aside from duplex unit on other side of fence. Great location away from hustle and bustle of Newport, and super close (1 minute drive!) to less busy Ona beach. Cozy house, beds not so much but otherwise great! Would come back 100%.

Beautiful view

Trying to find this rental was difficult. But once we found it it was fabulous. A little bit of road noise in the morning but quiet in the evenings. Great deck and backyard! Wish there was a way to access the ocean below. All in all a very nice place to stay.

Ocean view cottage

Place is dated but was clean. Says ocean view but can’t see the ocean due to the large plant that sits in the middle if the yard and blocks most of the ocean view. Deck also unusable due to bird poop and nesting birds that constantly dived bombed you from the moment you step onthe deck until you return inside. Parking space too small for anything other than a very small compact car. Had to park in front of storage shed and maneuver to get out. This could be a nice little place if someone would do some basic maintenance. Won’t be coming back.

Nice small duplex with good kitchen ammenities. The view was beautiful and the access was easy from the highway. The embankment is unusable to get to the beacj, but its a very short drive to 2 beach access sites. Sliding door stuck a little. Would stay here again:)

Nice ocean view cottage with a few caveats

Clean, cute, quiet, bright, cheery. Comfy beds. Nice kitchen. Great view sadly obstructed by large plant (pampas grass or yucca). Chairs, couch and toilet were quite low for 77 YO knees. Shower is very small. Listing should clearly indicate there's no beach access as the property is situated on a steep bluff. Upward-jutting brick edging along river stone entry walk could be a tripping hazard for less agile guests. But in general, we enjoyed our stay.

Great get-away

Great little place with beach views. Provided great kitchen accessibility to cook lots of meals. Only negatives: broken bedframe made for a semi-uncomfortable sleep, no air conditioning so the afternoon/night got very warm during sunset and the one fan provided was broken, and a very large unsightly plant in the backyard blocking ocean views. I would recommend this place to others.
