Summary:
You're about to step into one of Sheridan, Wyoming's best-kept secrets.
The Buffalo Bill Hideout isn't just a place to sleep — it's a chapter in Wyoming's living history. Tucked inside The Historic Western, a landmark building erected in 1895 when cattlemen, prospectors, and legends like Buffalo Bill Cody himself roamed these very streets, your hideout has been thoughtfully restored to honor that rugged, trail-worn spirit while wrapping you in modern comfort.
Picture this: you arrive after a long day on the road — or a short flight into Sheridan County Airport — punch in your private access code, push open the door, and feel 130 years of Western heritage settle around you like a well-worn leather jacket. The queen bed is waiting. The smart TV is ready for your favorite streaming service. The standing shower is stocked with fresh amenities. And outside your door? Downtown Sheridan's Main Street — coffee shops, saddleries, saloons, galleries, and restaurants — all within a short walk.
Buffalo Bill used to audition Wild West performers right down the street at the Sheridan Inn. He'd ride in from expeditions, rest up, and plan his next big adventure. Your hideout is designed to channel that same energy — a quiet retreat between your own Wyoming adventures, whether that's hiking the Bighorns, exploring King's Saddlery, or just settling into a corner booth at the Mint Bar with a cold drink and a good story.
Managed by Wyo Stays, Sheridan's premier boutique hospitality group, your stay comes with concierge-level service, local expertise, and the kind of personal attention that turns a trip into a memory. We don't just hand you keys — we welcome you into the neighborhood.
Previous guests have called it "convenient," "hands down the best hosting experience," and exactly the kind of stay that makes you want to come back. We think you'll agree.
Your next Wyoming story starts at the Buffalo Bill Hideout. Send us a message — we'd love to help you plan it.

The Neighborhood:
You're planted in the beating heart of historic downtown Sheridan — one of Wyoming's most iconic and walkable western towns.
Step outside the Buffalo Bill Hideout and you're within a few blocks of everything that makes Sheridan legendary. Main Street is lined with locally owned coffee shops, boutiques, breweries, and galleries — not a chain store in sight. This is the real deal.
A few highlights within walking distance:
The Mint Bar — Sheridan's legendary outlaw saloon, where decades of cowboy stories are etched into the walls and cold drinks flow freely.
King's Saddlery & Museum — the crown jewel of western craftsmanship. If you visit one place in Sheridan, make it this one.
The Sheridan Inn — where Buffalo Bill himself auditioned Wild West performers on the wraparound porch. You're walking the same streets he walked.
Local coffee shops, farm-to-table restaurants, antique stores, art galleries, and walking tours.
Seasonal farmers markets, community events, and live music throughout the year.
This neighborhood blends 1895 heritage with modern comfort. No tourist-trap energy. No corporate sameness. Just the authentic Sheridan experience — and you're right in the middle of it, managed by Wyo Stays with pride.
Getting Around:
Downtown Sheridan is built for walking. From the Buffalo Bill Hideout, you can reach restaurants, bars, shops, museums, and coffee in minutes on foot — no car needed for most of your day-to-day exploring.
For trips beyond downtown, your dedicated parking spot keeps your vehicle close and convenient. The Bighorn Mountains are roughly 30 minutes west, and regional adventures — Yellowstone, Devil's Tower, the Bozeman Trail — are all within striking distance for a day trip.
Flying in? Sheridan County Airport (SHR) is just 5 minutes from your hideout. Ask us about private airport transfers through Wyo Stays.
Need a ride in style? Ask about our Tesla rental add-on for exploring Wyoming's wide-open roads with zero emissions and full comfort.
Bike rentals are also available through Wyo Stays — a perfect way to cover more ground while soaking in the mountain air.
Interaction with Guests:
Your experience. Your pace.
Wyo Stays is built on one principle: hospitality should feel effortless. You won't see us hovering at the door, but you'll always feel us in the details — the fresh linens, the stocked amenities, the local recommendations tucked into your welcome guide.
If you need anything — restaurant reservations, hiking trail suggestions, a special occasion setup, mid-stay cleaning, or just a quick answer about parking — send us a message and we'll respond promptly. Our guests consistently note our responsiveness:
"Dalton's hosting is hands down the best I've experienced. Super responsive and very easy to communicate with."
