Ridgecrest Retreat is the perfect place to both relax and play! Sit back and relax in the main level living room, which overlooks the kitchen and features a leather sectional sofa and a wall-mounted flat-screen TV. Enjoy family movie night (or the big game) in one of the other two living rooms, with additional leather furniture and floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the mountains. You can easily snack during the show, thanks to the mini kitchenette locate in the corner of the room – perfect for popcorn and beverages! Head on downstairs and you are met with the game room, which is bright and inviting and hosts multiple hangout alcoves. Grab your friends and engage in some friendly competition of air hockey and foosball games. And don’t forget to step outside, kick back in a rocking chair and take in the gorgeous views while you sip your morning cup of coffee or evening glass of wine. And you and the kiddos (and adults alike) will love relaxing in the bubbling hot tub while taking in that fresh Smoky Mountain air!

The house was big and spacious and had a lot of potential, but it clearly needed more care and attention. Unfortunately, numerous maintenance and condition issues significantly impacted our stay. The stairs leading down to the basement were broken and nearly caused multiple guests to trip or fall upon arrival. This was especially concerning since children were staying downstairs, and it remained a safety worry throughout the trip. Several of the shower heads were damaged, and multiple sinks and bathtubs were clogged, causing water to drain very slowly. The coffee maker and toaster were not functional, and the propane for the grill ran out within an hour of use. The inside of the hot tub was clean but the hot tub cover was dirty and the deck was dirty as well which put us off from using it at all. The bed sheets appeared old and faded. There was also poor wood finishing in certain areas which caused multiple guests to get splinters, which was concerning. Several advertised or expected amenities were either missing or in poor condition. There was no hockey table, and the foosball table, pool table, and arcade games were all in very poor shape. The outdoor pool was a major eyesore. Several doors did not open or close properly, baseboards were missing, and there was unfinished trim and door framing throughout the house. Some ceiling light fixtures were also damaged.For the price, we expected a well-maintained and cared-for home. We would not choose to book this house again.

Cabin was large and had lots of potential, but there were so many issues that it made her stay very discouraging. The Good- hot tub, large windows, the amenities and the beautiful great Pyrenees dog that visited us every morning.The Bad- 3 unrepaired as promised broken steps (I slipped on one of them and so did one of the children), several loose faucets, and showerheads were hanging, and the lock on one of the bedroom doors to the deck would not latch closed. Wouldn’t be fun waking up to a bear in your small bedroom.The host was very responsive, but I believe his hands were tied when it came to the Maintenance. We will not be renting this same cabin due to how much we paid and how disappointed we were with these issues. We had 22 people and the home accommodation was accurate.

We enjoyed being in the mountains, and overall, we enjoyed our stay at the house. However, the pictures make it look way nicer than it is. We were disappointed to find all remotes were dead, the living room light and one of the porch lights did not work. Several of the TVs were not functioning correctly. The WiFi did not work all week long, and so service was spotty. I tried three days in a row to get someone to come out and fix issues, but no one came. Unless we know for a fact that these issues will be fixed, we will probably not stay at this cabin again. The cabin has so much potential.

The Check in process was very easy. The size of the cabin was great it was able to accommodate 25 people. The kitchen is fully loaded with enough small appliances and dishes. The cleanliness of the cabin however was not the greatest. The lower half of the cabin smelled like mildew and this is where the children were sleeping. But what buttered my biscuit was the den of mice that wanted to come out and play especially in the lower half of the cabin. I have never STAYED IN HORRIBLE CONDITION.

It was very easy to communicate with Justin and the property manager. Justin was quick to answer my questions and generously provided ample information. We found the VRBO to be very clean and spacious enough for our family gathering of 28. Soon after arriving, we discovered that the A/C for half of the house was not working, and after notifying the property manager, this was rectified very quickly. For these reasons, we enjoyed our stay at Ridgecrest!However, we did find a number of issues that, on their own, were not incredibly significant, but collectively did diminish our satisfaction with the venue. The pool was full of trash and therefore unusable. The grill was extremely dirty. There was no air hockey table or fire pit, as advertised. There was a foosball table, but it was broken/the ball was missing. It was difficult to impossible to get working internet; we realize this may not be an issue the host/property manager can solve given the mountainous location, but it was frustrating. Finally, we were provided with only a complimentary supply (1-2 nights) of toilet paper and paper towels and told that guests brought additional if needed; as a family of 28 staying for multiple nights, this was a necessity that we were not expecting to have to address, based on experiences at other VRBOs. Overall, we appreciated our stay at Ridgecrest, but do feel that, if the above-mentioned issues were addressed, guests’ visit to Ridgecrest would truly be spectacular.

Place was as listed. It fit 19 of plus comfortably. Host was very responsive. We had an issue with the A/C upon arrival and it was fixed that same night. It was a good spot for us.

Ladies renewal weekend

I loved the size of the cabin . I loved it was basically one level which made it very easy for handicapped ladies that have difficulty with stairs . It was also nice that there were so many bedrooms with private bath rooms . However the place needs some maintenance work . Some of the sinks and shower faucets needing replacing . The floors in the hall and shared bathroom were annoyingly squeaky . I also noticed some crown molding was falling down . It would have been nice if the pool was operational also . Overall we were pleased though . I suited our needs and we had a great time .

This cabin claims to accommodate up to 30 people but the kitchen only contained 14 forks and 17 spoons, so bring your own or plan to share with the person next to you.2. One of the bedrooms downstairs was missing the ENTIRE door. The host claimed not to be aware.3. Trim on multiple doors missing or displaced.Cleanliness:1. 90% of the cabin was clean enough. I get that it’s a big place and things get missed. However, there was food IN BETWEEN the sheets in the bed I slept in. Tortilla chip fragments, chicken bones, and other items that looked like some sort of meat. I’ve never been so disgusted.2. There were cigarette butts and bottle caps left on the porch.Safety Hazards:1. The plastic threshold from the kitchen to the back deck was broken, leaving a very prominent jagged edge protruding. This would easily cause serious lacerations to someone barefoot. The host was informed of this and facilitated a resolution.2. The pool area, which was in disrepair, could not be secured. The pool had obviously not been in use for some time, but there was no way to secure the gate to the pool to prevent entry. The host was aware that our group included several small children and was made aware of this safety hazard but failed to provide a remedy during our stay.Overall, I was disappointed. I will not stay at any property owned/operated by Avada Properties again.

Spacious

The house is very open and spacious. Plenty of room for our group of 20. Very clean. Had a neighbor's dog come to visit and he was a sweet and loving fella. Would definitely stay again.

Family Fun

We had 19 of our family including Parents, 3 sons and our kids with their families so ages 5-80. We all loved the home and one of our favorite parts was time in the kitchen/dining area. Fully equipped kitchen where we made breakfast and dinner all 3 days for all 19 of us. Perfect for a large family stay.

House comes with dog

Inside space is clean, spacious, wonderful for large group. Mangy dog hung out on back deck- very flea infested. Called house owners, they told me to call animal control if dog bothered us. Day 3, I called. We couldn’t use the deck where the grill and hot tub were. Owner reclaimed dog, and it returned the next day. Otherwise, great location.
