But my favorite parts of Sedona are the little known secret places, that you can explore and experience without the crowds. This gem is one of those secret locations. Sedona almost never gets snow, and when it does snow, it rarely sticks. So when a giant snow storm shut down the whole city last winter, we were dying to go out and get some epic snow pictures! Locals refer to this spot as the Birthing Cave. It is tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the more touristy parts of the city. It is a fairly easy hike to get here, but getting up into the cave is a whole other story! It requires a lot of scrambling, and some serious guts! Beautiful views

Unique house, with large 2 story picture window looking out at the beautiful mountain landscape. Has 2 large sitting rooms and a great eat in kitchen table that easily seats 8-10. It has some quirks and is oddly loud, and it seemed the AC was stuck running at 68 at night, so we were a bit chilly. A lovely patio in back with grills opens onto the forest and the first night a wild boar came by! Deer came in the yard. There is a lot of light switches that don’t operate anything and then areas (like the entry) that are very dark and unlit. It’s quiet and private and yet we easily walked into town and shopped etc. We cooked meals for 6-8 every day, never ate out and the kitchen functioned just fine. Oh- it needs a new toaster! Overall, I did not raise any of these quirks with the owner as they weren’t that important. It was all minor oddities. The linens were clean and fresh, the house and kitchen were clean and ready to go in our check in. Those are the things that matter more than the locked thermostats set on cold etc,. The beds were adequately comfortable, neither back breaking or heavenly comfort. There are 2 rooms w kings that each have a private bath plus a room with 2 twin beds BUT that room only has a curtain for a door and window space over the kitchen sink, with an old blind that closes to provide privacy- kids hated it as were woken in AM by adults getting coffee. It was a lovely visit with friends and family and we would stay here again.

Thanksgiving at Cowboys Casa

We had a great stay at this house. It was very comfortable and we managed very well making Thanksgiving dinner in the kitchen. Everything was in working order. There are two bedrooms with King beds and one side room with twin beds (no door) and a study with a pull out couch (no door) There is plenty of room so you can easily get up earlier than other housemates and not wake them up. The wildlife was incredible they walk right up in the back yard. The view of Steamboat Rock is an incredible sight to wake up to and to watch the sun set and change the colors. We loved that it was dog friendly and Steve was very responsive when we reached out with questions. We had 7 adults and everyone loved the vibe of the house and the variety of artwork. It felt like staying in a home. The proximity to uptown was a plus!

Could Have Been A 5 Star Experience

First and foremost, this amazing house was decorated quite beautifully and the red rock views from the back patio GORGEOUS. We three guest were pleased with its general accommodations. However, we discovered a couple of shortcomings. First, it appears the house entry was originally built with a large covered entrance court yard which later was apparently closed in creating an additional entry sitting room. Nice, but its floor level is lower that the original house and so 3 five inch platforms were built as step ups into the main house. However, their over size and awkward placement became trip hazards at times. One had to pay particular attention navigating around the furniture and these platforms. Walking in poor lighting guaranteed a stubbed foot for one guest. Probably of most concern, there were no fire or CO detectors in the house. The host should consider adding these as a way to say they care about guest safety. Finally, the cleaning people had not completed their tasks prior to our specified 4PM arrival time. After about 45 minutes, they departed, but not before leaving an extremely STRONG deodorizing smell from a floor mopping solution. It was so strong we had to open doors and retreat to the patio and beautiful red rock skyline for awhile. The latter matter could be considered an unfortunate inconvenience, but the other safety concerns should be addressed.

Great potential

The view out the back of the house was outstanding, the house had plenty of room for all of us (5 adults), the proximity to downtown Sedona was great, and the neighborhood was fairly quiet. Unfortunately, you are welcomed to the house by a large pile of bird feces right by the main entrance, the house has rodents, as evidenced by the droppings we saw upon arrival and the fresh droppings we would find in the morning on the kitchen counter, the shower/tub in one bathroom was not usable because it had some type of debris in the tub, a few of the arcadia doors had cobwebs all around where the door opens, we had to sweep and clean the back porch in order to use it, and the carpets need a really good cleaning.

Great Home. Great View.

The home is very comfortable and the views are awesome. In a nice quiet neighborhood above Uptown Sedona. The house is like being in an art museum with the backdrop of Red Rocks. Great place to stay.

Beautiful place with breathtaking views

Absolutely gorgeous home with sensational views of the Sedona red rock! Beautifully decorated with all of the artwork. Magnificent views of the red rock mountains outside of the massive living room windows. Deer could be seen visiting the yard. An unforgettable experience in every sense of the word!

Beautiful views!

We enjoyed the beautiful views at Cowboy Casa. We arrived after dark, and there was minimal outside lighting, making it difficult to gain access to the house. Once inside, we were able to ferry groceries in using our phones as flashlights. (There appeared to be additional outside lights, just no way to turn them on!) Despite the rocky start, we felt comfortable and relaxed in this beautiful Sedona home and enjoyed the diverse art collection. We would have loved a little booklet/ binder showing the evolution of the house, which has clearly been expanded through the years. All in all, we enjoy this fun, interesting, and lovely home away from home.

Location & Space

I booked this property specifically for the location and space. Near to trails and Uptown infrastructure, which were necessary conveniences for our trip. I believe that the listing stating that there are four bedrooms is an overstatement. There are two bedrooms. There is an office which can be slept in and another converted common space which has sleeping accommodation. Bizarre that the thermostat was locked and the heat was scheduled, it was off all night and began to run at 7am. We would have been more comfortable with it opposite. All of that to say, a few minor inconveniences didn’t prevent us from having a great work trip and space enough for the crew.

Outstanding Views

Our family really enjoyed our stay in Sedona. The house was great. It was in a great location and was well provisioned. We loved sitting outside watching the many variety of birds, deer, and rabbits and of course the incredible views from the patio. The house had a fireplace in the kitchen and living room which was wonderful. A bonus was walking in the neighborhood we discovered the Soldier Wash trails. It was fabulous not to have to fight for a parking spot. Thank you to Steve for hosting and excellent communication with us. We definitely will be back.

FABULOUS VIEW!!!!!

This property is absolutely one of the most beautiful places i have ever stayed in my life!! It has it all...VIEW IS MAJESTIC....the location is great for being in walking distance to "up-town"....the host is "johhny on the spot" if there is ONE QUESTION...and it is absolutely the most quiet place on earth!!! Family Holiday In Sedona

We stayed at Cowboy Casa from Christmas Day to New Years. The house is plenty big and well stocked. It is a bit dated but it’s clear in the listing. The location is TOP NOTCH can’t beat it to be in downtown Sedona. Our host Steve was available all the time and left wine and coffee for our arrival. We would stay here again the house is plenty spacious and has everything you need to be comfortable.

Breathtaking View

House was very clean, some updates needed; but overall, it accommodated us comfortably. Hardly used the house except to sleep there and get ready to go for hikes, shopping and eating out. We spent any downtime on the patio mostly- can’t beat the view!

Awesome View Home is a bit tired and Odd

View is incredible. Home is OK. Communication with the owner was just Ok. He actually got a bit testy with me when wanting clarity on what type of coffee maker which actually should come in the detailed check in information. Dirt all over the bathtub in 2nd bathroom. Space was hot when we got in for the first day because he had only just turned it down. No instructions for the use of the house and items (ac) in it whatsoever. AC unit is locked for temperature control. One of the bedroom and the den do not have doors on them. Cant get to the deck through the living room sliders, have to go through bedrooms and den. Bring your own pillows, the ones onsite are poor quality and selection. Again the view is amazing.

Amazing view

A near 5-star rating! Aesthetics of property were first rate inside and out. Tastefully decorated interiors with a spectacular view from living room and patio!! Only minor disappointments were out of control of the owner. The previous renters generated too much garbage to fit in outside bins, which attracted the Javalinas to dine on their waste. I could not get gas fireplace to operate, but accept this may have been a user-error situation. A big ten-gallon hats-off to Cowboy’s Casa!

The perfect girls weekend

What a great long weekend. We stayed for 4 nights and it was perfect. Such a unique fun house. We loved that is was walking distance to town, and the views were just breathtaking. Don’t hesitate renting this home. Super fun!

Best view we’ve had of the red rocks of Sedona !

We have been in Sedona 3 years now in March and this view is absolutely the best! We were visited by a javelina and several large mule deer during our stay. Sedona can be very crowded and this location enabled us to walk into the heart of the city. Hills are steep so get in shape before you go! Enjoy.

Great Location. Great Views. One bed room disappointing

The is a great house in a great location with great views. The one disappointment was the third bedroom listed with twin beds. It is converted from the dining room, has no door and has an open pass-thru window into the kitchen! There can be no expectation of privacy in this room.
