Very peaceful, however was a little surprised and disappointed to find that the kitchen tap was held together with electrical tape, presumably to suppress a possible leak, also the side lamp in living area did not have a bulb. «We stayed for a week in February, and it was fabulous. The weather was a bit damp on and off, but the Grooms Bothy was always warm and welcoming. (I want underfloor heating!). It’s well equipped, close to Kelso for everything you need, and in a quiet and pretty location. The owners live next door, and a with their 2 little dogs are friendly and on hand if you need something. The welcome pack of milk, snacks and wine was a lovely touch.
