Inside, the open-concept living, dining, and kitchen area creates a relaxed space to unwind after a day of exploring. Curl up on the sofa (which converts to a sleeper), stream a favorite movie on the Smart TV, or enjoy a simple meal prepared in the well-equipped, apartment-style kitchen. Thoughtful touches—like extra mirrors, ample supplies, and basic cooking essentials—make settling in easy.
Step out onto the shared front balcony, where each unit has its own patio furniture, and enjoy partial river views while sipping your morning coffee or watching boats glide by. Guests often mention this as a favorite spot. Downstairs, a shared patio offers additional outdoor seating, a gas BBQ grill, and a communal fire pit—perfect for relaxing evenings after a day at the beach or in town.
The bedroom features a comfortable queen bed and is connected to the full bathroom with a shower/tub combination. Please note that the bathroom is accessed through the bedroom, which works best for couples or close friends.
Anchors Away is located just 1.5 blocks from the closest shops and restaurants, with the rest of downtown only a short stroll away. Lake Michigan beaches—Douglas Beach, Oval Beach, and Saugatuck Dunes State Park—are all within a 5–10 minute drive, or you can hop on the local Interurban for an easy, inexpensive ride. Willow Park sits directly across the street, offering fishing, picnic tables, and excellent people- and boat-watching.
With off-street parking, a prime yet quiet location, and everything you need for a comfortable stay, Anchors Away is a welcoming home base for experiencing the best of Saugatuck—whether you're here for a romantic weekend, a friends' getaway, or a spontaneous escape by the water.
Please Note:
- This suite is one of three total units in the same building. Shared spaces and amenities between the neighboring units are the BBQ grill, the fire pit, and the furniture around the fire pit. The balcony is shared with the other upstairs unit, but each unit has its own set of patio furniture for guest use. Please be respectful of other guests staying in the neighboring units by adhering to the quiet hours from 10pm to 8am.
- This is an upstairs apartment and a flight of stairs is required for access.
- The only access to the bathroom is through the bedroom.
- There is no central AC. There is a window AC unit in the apartment during the summer months. Additionally, there is a box fan. If you keep the blinds closed and the bedroom door open, the whole apartment will be cool.
- The building heat is kept at 68 degrees in the winter months. If you need additional heat or heat during the summer, there is a baseboard electric heater in the bedroom.
- This apartment is small. The refrigerator and range are apartment-sized.
