Villa Il Cedro is located just outside Sarteano, in a quiet residential area and in a very discreet position, immersed in the peace of the countryside and surrounded by greenery. The property is a splendid example of a Tuscan farmhouse renovated with great taste and elegance, both internally and externally. The rooms are characterised by the elegance of the furnishings and by the warm, welcoming tones. Pieces of contemporary design blend perfectly with high quality antique furniture. The terracotta floor confers warmth to the fully air-conditioned villa, while the large windows and glass doors ensure light in all the rooms. The heart of the house is the large living area on the ground floor, featuring a spacious hall and a modern kitchen with central island that open to the garden through multiple exits, teaming up with the alluring set-up areas surrounded by a radiant garden, a true oasis of peace where guests can enjoy the many well-kept green areas. Completing the desire for a perfect holiday is the splendid pool area with exclusive swimming pool lined in travertine marble, Jacuzzi tub and wellness area with sauna. Completing this fascinating mix of ingredients is the strategic position of the villa, less than a kilometre from Sarteano, a medieval borgo rich in architectural masterpieces, located on the slopes of Mount Cetona, south of Siena, between the lower Val di Chiana and the rugged, wild Val d'Orcia, but also close to the regional borders of Lazio and Umbria. A short distance from the main motorway junction (Autostrada A1) and the Chiusi railway station, the villa is an excellent starting point for exploring the beauties in the immediate surroundings.
Interior:
The villa has four floors connected by an internal staircase. The main entrance leads into a large open-plan room, made up first of seating areas and then with the area with the large dining table connected to the kitchen with central island. Multiple glass doors allow direct access to the outside, allowing a continuous use of the garden and the well-equipped portico. Completing the ground floor is a guest bathroom and a laundry room. The staircase leads up to the mezzanine floor with two double bedrooms with ensuite bathroom, one with shower and one with tub; the stairs continue up to the first floor with two double bedrooms with ensuite bathroom with shower. The sleeping area is completed on the second floor with a twin bedroom with two single beds and a third additional single bed. This room is served by a bathroom with shower. Please note the fireplaces are ornamental.
Park:
The well-kept park of about one and a half hectares, completely fenced, frames the villa. The garden, entirely bordered by hedges and with large lawn areas, contains a rich vegetation of fruit trees, cypresses, holm oaks and rose bushes. In front of the entrance to the living area is a gazebo for alfresco dining while a relaxation area is located under the portico on the front of the villa. Just past the entrance gate, a short drive bordered by a beautiful row of cypresses brings you to the parking area.Please notice that photos are taken in spring, therefore flower blossoming, and the colours of the gardens' grass could be different at the moment of your arrival at the villa.
Swimming Pool:
The swimming pool lies in a private position in the manicured greenery of the beautiful garden and is quickly reached from the villa across the lawn and down a short flight of 6 steps. The rectangular pool has an infinity edge on two sides and is lined and bordered by travertine stone and has steps for access to the water; it measures 8 x 12 m with a constant depth of 1.80 m and has internal lighting and chlorine purification. Around the swimming pool, in the sunbathing area bordered by a screen of hedges, are sunbeds, umbrellas, a shower and a large not heated whirpool bath (3 x 3 m). In the basement, reachable down a flight of steps, is a sauna and a bathroom. The pool is open from the last Saturday in April until the first Saturday in October.
Pets: Yes, 1 of small/medium size. € 50,00 per animal per week to be paid on site. Acceptance of animals to the facility must be previously authorised by the owner upon communication of the number of animals, size and breed.
