Twin Cave House - Oia

Twin Cave House er et nylig renovert (mai 2017) autentisk grottehus, delvis skåret i vulkanisk steinflate. Den ligger i Oia, på klippetoppen i nærheten av det venetianske slottet, hvor alle sammen samles for å se Oias berømte solnedgang. På grunn av sin unike beliggenhet, tilbyr Twin Cave House fantastisk utsikt over calderaen og vulkanene, og ligger kun 2 minutters gange fra Oias hovedgate, hvor alle restauranter og butikker ligger.

Hulehuset består av to tilstøtende rom, hver med egen inngang, men også med en sammenhengende dør. Det første rommet har en dobbeltseng, en grunnleggende kjøkkenkrok og et eget bad. Det andre rommet er romsligere og tilbyr et fullt utstyrt kjøkken, spisestue / stue og eget bad. Rommet har også en åpen hems med dobbeltseng. Videre kan sofaen forberedes som en enkeltseng for å sove en femte gjest. Begge romdørene fører ut mot husets idylliske terrasse med utsikt over den uendelige blått av den blendende kalderaen.

Twin Cave House kan komfortabelt være vert for to par, samtidig som de tilbyr privatliv, men er også ideelt for familier eller vennegjenger.

Super cute place, ideal location right in the center of town on the water. Nicoletta and her daughter were great. They arranged our transfers, handled our luggage to/from, arranged laundry services etc. can’t recommend enough. Wonderful stay!

The house was great. Had a good view. Lots of amenities. Close to everything you want to see in Oia. The best was our host Nicoletta. She helped us with everything from transfers with help with our luggage through all those stairs in Oia, to making reservations for restaurants to sharing the history of Oia. Great unit and location. Nicoletta was excellent and quick to respond to questions. She helped arrange for transportation from the airport and to the ferry port which made everything easy and seamless. Great view from our unit and accomodatioms were very comfortable for my family of 4. Prime location in Oia within walking distance to restaurants, shops and sights. Would highly recommend

Great location though VERY busy as it is right near a Instagram photo spot so walkway is very congested at all times. You get a fair amount of noise with people outside and luggage coming down the cobblestone steps. The communication with Nicoletta is excellent, and she is top-notch with providing transport and answering questions. Her team of drivers, porters are courteous, timely, and professional.Staying in a cave dwelling was a fun experience. The unit is quite small and the loft bedroom can be tricky to get up and down. Be aware - there are no outlets in the second bathroom. Not a huge deal, but something to know. We were a bit disappointed in the overall cleanliness of the unit and felt like things could have been better stocked. Nothing we couldn’t work with, but for the price, we were underwhelmed. Again, the location is great though and Nicoletta is an excellent hostess.

Wonderful stay in the heart of Oia

If you want to stay in the heart of Oia, this is the place to stay. You are literally steps away from one of the most famous photo backdrops in Santorini. Depending on the time of year, it can become a very busy spot. The twin cave house was exactly as described. We were two adult couples that shared the twin cave house. In one of the rooms the bed is in a loft and you need to climb up a few stairs to get to it. The loft only contains the bed. Both rooms were very clean with small fridges in both. The bathrooms were both a good size and very clean. Nicoletta was a fabulous host and was very quick to respond to all my questions from the time we booked right up to our stay. She also arranged transportation to and from the port.

Amazing Experience

The property was such a unique experience and was in a great location. The hostess went out of her way to make sure we had all the information we needed. The transportation arranged to and from the airport and ferry were prompt and most accommodating! I would highly recommend.

Amazing!!!

Everything about our experience with Nicoletta and her team was outstanding!!! Highly recommend this wonderful spot!! Great location on the Caldera and easy to walk everywhere in OIA! The restaurants, sailing, etc all made our trip wonderful from Nicoletta! The transportation from the airport was easy and great! The ferry transportation was seamless! We would return with out doubt. It was living with the locals and the cave house was so amazing!!! Comfortable beds, showers and great bathing products! Incredible experience and we thank you!!!

Sweet Cave House

We are a family of 4 adults (including 2 adult children) and had a wonderful stay at the Twin Cave House. The space was perfect for parents to have separate bedroom/bathroom and each of the kids to have their own sleeping area. Location was excellent—in the heart of everything yet quiet. Nicoletta arranged our transfers and porters to carry our luggage. She was also very responsive to any questions. AC worked great, which was a definite plus in July!

Santorini Dream

This stay and this property were AMAZING. Nicoletta took care of absolutely everything - helped arrange transport from the ferry port upon arrival and then back to the airport to depart, and I was especially thankful for the assistance of the porters to help move our luggage. The property itself was perfect for our family of 4 (w/ two college-aged children). When you see all the photos on the internet of the beautiful town on Oia on the cliffsand the blue domed churches... well, that is exactly where this property is located. other people lining up for their prized photos basically right down the sidewalk from this property. Can't beat that. Easy walking distance to many restaurants and shops, very close to the post office if you have lined up an excursion (boat trip, etc) - which is where most companies pick up from. Bathrooms were great, and they even had a top of the line Marshall (wireless) speaker to use when listening to tunes while gazing out at the Aegean-blue waters. Incredible stay at an incredible place... we sincerely hope we can visit again one day in the future.

Perfect location in Oia and a great host!

Location Location Location! Very few steps the cave house. Located right next to one of the blue domes, yet still felt the private. Alex is a great host who met us at arrival. She set up all of our transfers as well. What a great bonus to have concierge service. Provided beach towels and wine. Also provided juice and other breakfast items. The bathroom product were of very good quality. Top notch hosts. So far the best we have experienced in Greece. We were a family of four so having three beds and two full bathrooms was great. The view from the balcony was beautiful. Enjoyed having breakfast and night wine there. Bonus: They drivers told us, the family running the airbnbs are great family. The cave homes have been in their family for several generations. We love to hear employers being good to their employees.

Best choice of Oia location

We loved our stay in the Twin Cave Home! It was right in the heart of Oia and was close to everything we wanted. After visiting Fira, we were so glad we stayed in Oia and this home was very authentic and worked well for us. The hostess was very helpful and responsive. She really helped us with transfers while on the island. The company she referred us to was wonderful as well!

Oia - Cool cave houses

The twin cave houses are an awesome place to stay in Oia on Santorini! Nicoletta, the host, was great with communication. The place was perfect and cozy for our family of 5. A few things… right around the corner from these is one of the most popular photo spots, so there are a lot of people there all the time. The stove is sub-par… so cooking should be kept to a minimum. Finally, our initial towels were great, but the second set we got was not as nice and there was some confusion in exchanging beach towels, so we were short these on a day. All minor things, and we would definitely recommend this house.

Amazing cave house!

Couldn’t Ask for More

I own 3 Vrbo properties in the States and this property was ideal and I couldn’t have asked for more. Nicoletta, the owner, answered all questions in a very timely manner and has a great team in place from housekeeping to personalized guides. Our guide Chris was excellent and so much fun! Would definitely recommend this place and hope to return someday!

If you want to truly experience the charm that Oia and the island of Santorini has do not hesitate to book this beautiful home. The experience of staying in one of the cave homes on the island is irreplaceable. The home is well maintained, cleaned and stocked with everything you’ll need for a wonderful vacation the host is kind and attentive making this stay that much better. Fantastic stay at Nicolette’s house

Great place for four people with two separate rooms, showers and kitchenette. The view on the Caldera is amazing. It is very well located and accessible. Nicolette’s son, Philipp, was there to welcome us and give us indications. We also had the chance to meet Nicoletta at the maritime museum where she provided very interesting explanations on Santorini, the volcano and the caldera. She also speaks French perfectly. I recommend this museum which is less than 5 minutes from her place. I also recommend the walk from Fira to Oia which has amazing views.

A place with a view…

The twin cave houses are exactly as presented on VRBO. The houses give you the unique experience of staying in cave with a great view of the caldera. Nicoletta, the proprietor, met our taxi and facilitated the transport of our luggage, which was a godsend being that Santorini is a labyrinth of small walkways with numerous steps. Santorini is a must see. We found it to be as spectacular as all the pictures and videos show. Having said that, what we did not expect, was the wall to wall people that made getting around a pain. While there I read an article about some tourist cities limiting the number of tourists and Santorini was on that list. I certainly understand why.
