NOISY Construction zone & no compensation
NOISY Construction zone and no offer to make it better! At 8:05 on the first morning we were awoken by sounds of a circular saw, generator, hammering and wood clacking 25 ft outside our bedroom window. When we went back to our room for a nice afternoon nap that was impossible with the level of noise. It was very unpleasant in our room, having to speak loudly to hear each other. I called the management company and told her location was under construction and asked if she knew if it was going to continue and if we could move to another property as the atmosphere did NOT make for a relaxing vacation. She said she could not move us to another property, it would be difficult on OWNER. Later that day she called back and said she had tracked down and talked with construction crew and they were done with the work and would not be back the next day, Thurs. April 25. Yet, at 8 am on Thurs, the saws and hammers were going again. I called the management company two times on Thurs and got no response. Friday morning comes and the construction is back on and in addition - the main house, OWNERS home, started their construction work that morning as well. So we had saws, generators, hammers, boards going all three days of our stay and now on both sides of the rental house. I called the property management company twice more on Fri asking for some amount of construction discount. She NEVER called back!
Conclusions:
1) Property management company, Ericka at Best Beach Getaways, lied to us about when construction would be complete
2) Property management company, Ericka at Best Beach Getaways, did nothing to assist us with relocation or requesting a discounted rate or waiving the cleaning fee, etc (especially after the home we were renting from started construction as well on Friday.)
3) The property management company, Erika, Best Beach Getaways had no concern for the quality of our stay or helping us reach a resolution or even offering us a bottle of wine, etc. NOTHING!. She simply ignored the situation, hoping it would go away.
Overall, it was a very disappointing vacation. We went there to relax and it was impossible to be in our rental property, that we paid good money for, and relax.
VRBO currently refusing to reimburse us. Owners said no to any reimbursement as well.
To top it off bed was hard and pillows like flat boards.
