Vi hadde ett rom med kjøkken, bad og soverom. Det var skittent på gulvet og sengetøyet var skittent. Det luktet kjemikalier og gammelt på rommet. Det har en gang vært åpent i mellom vårt rom og det ved siden av og for å skjule dette har de bare puttet ett skap foran åpningen. Så det hørtes ut som familien som bodde vegg i vegg med oss sto inne på rommet med oss.

very nice and polite employees, good service, nice and cozy surroundings, spanish style casa, good and nice tour to walk into the city, only 5-10 minutes, only 2 minutes to walk to the beach.a little bit worn out but nice and tidy. costs a little bit more than it is worth, but I guess it all the same prizes in SB.

Hotellet var forsåvidt greit, men de ansatte var tydeligvis nyansatte og overhode ikke kjent i Santa Barbara så vi ble feilinformert om parkering (hvilket ga oss parkeringsbot), nærmeste vaskeri som kun var adgang for de som hadde båtplass.Det var heller ikke noe kart eller annen info på hotellet

Pro: Great location, just a block from State St, two small blocks to Stearns Wharf pier. Very friendly staff. Good breakfast. Interesting interior design. Cons: No safe on premises, breakfast area layout could be organized better, limited parking.

The property was so cute and cozy. It was an older property and needs updates but overall it was nice. We stayed in a cottage.

Property is tired and worn…never had our room refurbished with new towels or bed made up. Breakfast options were old and stale. Roof was being retiled so daytime noise was horrible. All doors from outside were always open so lobby/sitting area was cold and security was a concern. Way over priced for what we got for our money.

My bed sheets had a hole in them. The linen looked like a 1990s Dixie cup The room was missing the remote control completely. I asked for a replacement and they said for me to download an app and use my phone as the remote. The restroom fan is ridiculously hot so you can’t go 2 mins without burning your hairs. BUT….. the decor is amazing, the exterior is also beautiful and the place is nice and cozy under the right circumstances.

The Villa Rosa Inn -A beautiful inn -very close to the Santa Barbara wharf, and had lots of charm! we stayed there for a few days and enjoyed the ambiance and the beautiful surroundings. If you have mobility check out the rooms on the first floor as there is a lengthy flight of stairs to the second. Overall a great experience

I’m rating three stars because: 1. The hotel charges a “resort fee” at checkin. I wish these were illegal. Just bundle with the cost of the room. 2. There was no soap in the shower. This is a basic thing that should always be checked before each guest arrives. 3. The noise isolation of the room was pretty poor, but I guess that’s to be expected with a building of this age. Other than that the surrounding area was nice and the hotel had a comforting ambience.

Was a nice convenient location for walking to the waterfront. Very unique property, with an amazing apartment style room, though we were not very happy that there was an additional "fee" when we arrived at the property. We had prepaid via Expedia and were told this is always not missed and so had to pay the additional fee that we were unaware of. Good breakfast, but the waffle maker kept breaking and the person kept saying it was the way people were doing it - though it worked for NO ONE. Overall enjoyable place and very unique, would recommend, but be aware you may owe additional money when you show up!

Quaint property. We stayed in the king suite with the kitchen. Very enjoyable and we love the convenience of the short distance to the beach, wharf, pier, Funk Zone and State Street.

Excellent Front Desk
Christina at the Front Desk is wonderful. Her customer service skills are excellent. We return to Villa Rosa because of her customer service, connection with guests, and very approachable to ask questions and talk to.

There was a flood advisory the weekend i was supposed to stay and a small tsunami in a neighboring city so i called to reschedule for the following week and was told it was not a problem. I was then called at almost 4pm to be told by the same employee that their manager said they won't honor the reschedule and i will be charged for no show when at that point was now too late to drive there. So i was charged for a room i never stood in and they refused to discount the following weekend

check in and check out was slow our beds weren't made with fresh sheets, we found crumbs and hair when going to bed tvs didn't connect to wifi therefore didn't work it was conveniently located and did the job for our one night stay but will most likely stay elsewhere for our next trip

Nice accommodations but….
No coffee maker in kitchen and front desk staff disorganized. Room was spacious and comfortable but bathroom light automatically comes on when I prefer no light in the middle of the night. Gorgeous area, great restaurants. Ocean 1 minute walk away. Expedia/ hotels.com neglected to adding a $28./day surcharge which was added at hotel, added $56. to our total. Bad juju.

This is an absolutely gorgeous little motel right by the beach. It’s got beautiful tile work and lovely old furniture. The room is spacious and very comfortable. The people at the front desk are very friendly and helpful.

Booked villa rosa. They switched me to a room next door off the alley. Yes when I open my door I step into the alley. Anyone getting room 120 don’t bother going. Demand a new room. Was told they over booked. My wife was approached by the owner and asked if we wanted a 3 bedroom house in Ventura 30 minutes away. Um no old man we would just like a room like we booked on Expedia. Nope we were sent to another location ( keep in mind all these rooms are next door to each other) upstairs with a kitchen. Great we brought no food. This is an old apartment they transferred into a hotel. Missing floor pieces loose tiles in the bathroom and mold all around the window. Oh and it says no smoking. When, when it was build. Smells like every smoker ever had this room before us. Don’t stay here. Spend you money somewhere else.

We booked at Villa Rosa and passed on Ala Mar even though it was less expensive intentionally because we'd already stayed at Ala Mar on a previous trip. Turns out they're the same ownership and we checked in at Villa Rosa and were walked over to the Ala Mar and told how "lucky" we were to get the James Dean room with a view of the ocean from the bed. Translation - you're right on Cabrillo Blvd and the noisiest room out of both hotels. The parking works for a compact car at best and the parking count is totally insufficient. Our bathroom window had no covering and faced the apartments across the alley and could be seen from the street. When we stayed at the Ala Mar previously it was decent, but we wanted something a little more removed from the main drag, which made it all the more ridiculous that we had the only room that's literally RIGHT on it (it's over the office). I'll have to address that I chose the more expensive hotel but was walked to the lesser expensive one with Expedia. The front desk staff was on the phone with a co-worked when I got there and didn't get off until the conversation ended. Two other guests came up behind me in that time. When she left the desk to walk me to the other hotel she told them she needed to take some time for herself and she'd be back in about 10 minutes.
