Maine Cabin på vakker, rolig innsjø .... Nær Ocean

Pine Needle Cabin er tilgjengelig for leie på naturskjønne Baugeg Beg Lake i Sanford, Maine. Litt over en time nord for Boston; 40 minutter sør for Portland, ME; og ca 20 minutter til marginalveien i Ogunquit, hummerdockene eller stranden ved Kennebunkport, eller de hvite fjellene i New Hampshire. Det er en 18-hulls golfbane 5 minutter fra hyttene, med en par-3 og minigolfbane ytterligere 5 minutter nedover veien. Det er flotte turstier, sykling turer og fantastisk kajakkpadling - innsjø eller hav. Ubegrenset dagsturer til andre deler av Maine eller New Hampshire. Bauneg Beg Lake er veldig rent og stille, med svømming, fiske og båtliv. Hytta ligger på østkysten, får hele dagen sol for flott svømming og vakre solnedganger!
Pine Needle Cabin er en rustikk 1-etasjers hytte på et skrånende område med direkte utsikt over innsjøen. Hytta ble bygd rundt et århundreskefiskhus fra en innsjø i NH - nå stuen - med mørk trepanel og peis m / integrert vedovn. Det er en inngangs foyer, kjøkken / spisestue, bad med dusj og en stor veranda med et spiseområde, sjeselong og gyngestoler, for å nyte sjøen når som helst på dagen. Det er 3 soverom (2 med dobbeltsenger og 1 med enkeltseng). Utsiden av hytta ble nylig renovert - nytt metalltak, stein skorstein og cedar shakes. Det er en brygge for bading, soling og fiske ved innsjøen. Det er en robåt, kano og kajakk for din bruk. Det er også en båtrampe på sjøen hvis du ønsker å ta med motorbåt eller seilbåt. Great location - however, rustic does not mean dirty. Kitchen was greasy on most surfaces. Cooling fans (which were needed) were encrusted with dust and dirt - we had to clean. Many dished had dried food on them. Sofa was sticky - we had to buy a flat sheet to cover. Most things in cabin were extremely dusty. Floors not out in the open were filthy. We had to leave the cabin cleaner than we found it. Would not recommend.

Wonderful stay

We had a wonderful stay. The swimming is everything I wanted. I brought my daughter and granddaughter (21mo). I want them to have the experience of being in a Maine camp on the lake. We swam, walked, went to our favorite places for seafood, watched the sunset and looms from the porch and slept so good. Thanks!

Enjoyed it very much. Genuine New England!

Yes, enjoyed it VERY much. Why? Because it was totally as described. A cabin on a nice big lake, with the sound of loons nights and mornings, with that nice big porch and three bedrooms. Children & teens would love it. Couldn't ask for more. We have a history of vacations on lakes in VT, NH and ME so we're biased. Too bad it's so far from NC. We'd be back often and have already recommended it to friends in New England.

67 Fern Lane Sanford Maine

A sign on the lane indicating the location would be helpful. The interior of the cabin is very dark lighting is lacking, maybe try LED lighting it's brighter and less expense to run. Just a few electrical outlets within the cabin extension cords running everywhere. If the owners insurance company ever wanted to do an inspection there would be issues. There is a cleaning company but I think a new one is needed. There are throw rugs everywhere inside the cabin they are a trip hazard and they slide around on the painted floor. If you are a senior please note. Outside the cabin there are pavers placed as a walkway there are several that are raised up and making the walkway more of a problem is that there is not any lighting on the side of the cabin so getting from your vehicle into the cabin after dark is an issue. There are solar lights along the walkway but they do not work. Lastly, the town of Sanford does not provide trash collection on Fern Lane. The owner provides instructions that the trash and recycle container must be taken to the intersection of Fern and the main road which is about a 1/4 mile from the cabin. Both the trash can and recycle bin. were full at my arrival on 9/7/2024. The owner needs to make arrangement to have the trash and recycle picked up at the cabin.

Amazing week at the Cabin

We had an amazing week. The Cabin is the perfect size for 3-5 people. The screened in porch was so relaxing to sit and enjoy the lake views and summer breeze. We loved all the rustic character of the place. We also enjoyed days in Kittery, York (Nubble Lighthouse), Ongunquit, Wells and Kennebunk as well as Berwick, Sanford and nearby Dover, NH. We hope to visit again soon.

Authentic Old Maine Charm on a Beautiful Lake

Pine Needle cabin is full of rustic charm and hearkens back to simpler times. The lake is lovely for swimming, kayaking, and loon watching. Although the cabin is perfect for peace and quiet, it’s also near many activities and attractions in the coastal towns of Kittery, York, Ogunquit, Wells, Kennebunkport, and Biddeford. We found lots of great hiking trails nearby. We can’t wait to return!

Bauneg Beg

It’s an older rustic cabin situated on a beautiful clean lake. We liked the large screened porch that overlooks the lake and the comfortable furniture in the living room. The kitchen had all the necessary appliances and all the essentials you will need for meal preparation. The weather was unusually hot while we were there so being that there is no A/C it was a bit uncomfortable at times although the three fans provided did offer some relief. You will need to bring your own bedsheets, towels, and wash cloths as these are not provided. Also bring biodegradable toilet paper, otherwise you’ll have to dispose of your paper into the can in the bathroom. Jan, the host, provided us with some excellent information regarding all the things to do in the area, shopping, and great restaurants. We had a very nice time using the kayaks and just lounging by the lake as well as visiting the touristy musts at Ogunquit and Kennebunkport.

Quaint cabin in nice location

Nice spot on the lake, close to the shore as well. Camp is located well in from the roads so no concerns with traffic while staying there with our dog. Great screened porch. Although we didn’t get an opportunity to use them as the weather was cool it was nice to have kayaks and PFDs available if you were so inclined. Easy drive to explore the coast from the cabin. Lovely walks/small hikes nearby. Also close to shopping and Shain’s which was great!

Slice of heaven

This was absolutely amazing. Everyone was wonderful around us. The lake is beautiful with a great breeze. The cabin is enchanting and we truly wanted to stay forever. It’s rustic charm enraptured us from the start and there was no shortage of fun. Our kids least favorite day was the one we ventured away from the cabin to go to York. They much preferred to be at the cabin, fishing, boating, fires, s’mores, games. We can’t wait to go back and Jan is so responsive. Everything was impeccable. If you’re a luxury hotel with room service type of person it may not be for you but for us it was heaven.

Memories made

Cute little cabin. A bit cluttered with unnecessary furniture and dishes. No place to put our food. Little ants on counter and in cupboard. Bit of a hill to the fire pit. Caution if you aren't steady on your feet. View was incredible, swimming was amazing. Neighbors were nice. Overall we had a great vacation with lots of laughs and made great memories.

Our experience at “On Golden Pond,” in Pine Needle Camp, Bauneg Beg Lake in South Sanford, Maine

We enjoyed our stay at this property. The cabin is clean, quaint and rustic, very well furnished and serves well as the base camp for a very enjoyable stay. Whether you’re sitting on and looking out from the screened porch or sitting on the dock or swimming or kayaking, the water view with mountains in the background is as placid and as simple as you would hope for. You unwind instantly. And the location is so central to so many interesting places, museums and restaurants in this area of Maine. The owners/property managers are very informative and responsive to any questions or concerns you may have.

Cozy Cottage on Bauneg Beg Pond (or is it a lake?)

Pina Needle Cabin is quaint and comfortable, with a large screened porch for enjoying views of the water without bothersome bugs. For the most part the lake is quiet, disturbed only by the call of loons and the sound of cool breezes through the trees. But, as the owners point out, the lake gets busy, and noisy, over the weekends, with a parade of pontoon boats crisscrossing the pond and personal watercraft zipping around. However, early mornings and evenings were pleasantly peaceful with an occasional kayak passing by and a view of beautiful sunsets against the backdrop of Bauneg Beg Mountain (or is it a hill?). One word of caution that other reviewers mention and you should consider when selecting this property: the neighbor to the north of the cabin is definitely noisy! The music wasn’t constant, but when it was on, it was loud and obnoxious. The owner of the property had the courtesy to ask if the music was too loud, but was offended when we told him that it was. He eventually turned it down only to turn it back up the following day. Another aspect of staying at Pine Needle Cabin is that, for the sake of the septic system and the quality of water in the pond, no toilet paper goes down the toilet. For most people this isn’t a big deal, but you should be aware that this is the practice before you decide to rent this location. Overall, I would recommend staying at Pine Needle Cabin. It is reasonably priced, well equipped, and easily accessible. Jan and Ed provide lots of helpful information for your stay. I’m glad they are willing to rent to strangers and share their unique and lovely little cottage for others to experience.
