Welcome to Special Rock Cabin. We fell in love with the Ozark Mountains during the Summer of 2020. We knew we had to have our own piece of this paradise. In May of 2024, it became a reality when we bought our cabin. Real cedar interior, board and batten siding, it had that true “cabin” feel that we wanted. Above all, it is right smack in the middle of all the hiking and waterfalls that we love. As for the name of the cabin, our kids use to bring us “special rocks” from daycare, and we loved it, so we incorporated the name!
1 private bedroom with a King bed.
1 semi private bedroom/laundry room with custom built in live edge cedar bunk beds. These things are sweet and we are proud of it!
Kitchen has full size fridge, stove, oven, microwave, toaster, coffee pot, and is stocked with your basic cookware.
1 bathroom with shower/tub combo. A curtain separates the bathroom from the semi private bedroom with bunk beds
Living room is open to the kitchen and has a fold out futon and matching chair. It's pretty awesome real aspen wood furniture.
Covered front porch to take in the Mountain breeze at 2,015 foot of elevation. We love our morning coffee right here, and we think you will, too.
We have 3.1 acres to explore. This is a remote part of the country, and we have bears, fox, coyotes, raccoons, and lots of deer on and around our property. We have a game camera on our property that has caught all of these animals. Please bring in all food and trash at night so our wildlife does not get it.
Cabin is on Scenic 7 Byway, considered one of the most beautiful scenic drives in the country! You should see the color change in the Fall!
Cabin is 22.5 miles from the quaint Mountain town of Jasper, and 22.9 miles from the Buffalo River at Carver Landing.

Perfect stay for our boy’s 7th birthday. It was close to so many wonderful places. We hiked, swam, and chased waterfalls. The cabin had everything we needed with a beautiful view.
Super clean and comfy! This is the place to unplug and reconnect! Every thing you need in the cabin! Waterfalls just a short drive away and hikes with great views. Highly recommend
We loved the cabin and being unplugged with no reception ! Host was so friendly and accommodating. They sent texts prior to check in to explain check in since reception would be an issue. One of our phones was able to connect to Starlink, which was super cool!! Clean cabin with everything we needed! Highly recommend !
Great stay. Perfect proximity to many awesome falls and hikes. We saw close to one dozen falls in three days. Best thing for our family is returning to the cabin with no wifi or cell service. We enjoyed the uninterrupted time with each other. Thanks so much for the great experience!
Great place to stay. As soon as we opened the door we were impressed. As noted in description it is near hiking trails with lots of waterfalls. Only semi-drawback is the cell phone signal is nonexistent in house. But as noted there is a little up close to road. We spent one day exploring forest roads in our 4wd Toyota FJ and next day hiking. Host is extremely helpful with suggesting hikes to waterfalls. We will be back.
This is a beautiful little cabin!!! We weren’t there much more than to just bathe and sleep but it was perfect. I will say this, make sure to bring snacks. My husband just said we’d pick something up when we got there and by the time we checked in, everything around was closed. The little store about a half mile down the road closes at six but they had an excellent breakfast. And we got a good little comedy show from the table of older gentleman in there having their morning coffee. There is a dollar general about ten miles down the road toward Jasper. And Jasper has the best little cafe called Ozark Cafe. It was so good!
The cabin was awesome. Everything we could have wanted was available. My mom, her friend and my 12 year old grandson and myself really enjoyed the stay away from internet, tv, neighbors and the chaos of everyday life. We got out a few times to take in the beautiful mountain views.
