I booked the presidential suite. When I checked in at 5pm the “in room” dining was not available. I would think there would have been bottled water in the room. The only thing on the counter were water bottle toppers that said $7 for the bottle of water that wasn’t there. The shower never got hot but the hot tub did. When I checked in I got a text from the staff welcoming me there. The text ask if I needed anything and I replied “yes” I need a cork screw and some ice… “crickets” after that. The carpet in the presidential suite was smelly and stained. I went to check out early but the line was 10 deep with only one person working desk. The only good thing was the breakfast buffet. This hotel was not worth $450 a night for a suite.

The elevator situation. At times, only one elevator was working during the most busiest times: checking in and checking out times. Many were forced to take the stairs with all their luggage. Inconvenient, but the hotel has potential of becoming top if this situation is resolve.

After a hard days work, all i wanted was to dip into the pools hot tub. Of course, closed for maintenance, with no idea on reopening. Also, on the web, it says happy hour goes from 530-730, they shut this one down at 7, limiting any benefits.

This is the best hotel in San Marcos. You can get around easy without having to use the I35. It’s close to shopping and places to eat.

I like that this property has plenty of parking for regular cars, however, I'd like to see more designated handicapped parking spots that are closer to the entrances. Also, only having one major elevator bank would mean that all the elevators needed to be working and functioning properly on the holiday weekend.

We were there with a large group. Dani at the front desk made sure to make us feel welcome and went out of her way to help us. She was incredible. She went over and above to make sure our family was taken care of. Will absolutely stay there again.

Room smelled of mildew, dirty, stained towels and room was extremely dirty. Bed was rock hard. Felt like we were staying at a one nighter motel. They need to tear the place down and start over! Will never stay there again, in fact we left a day early.

Unfortunately not that great
Unfortunately this Embassy Suites has gone down hill. The sheets were sand paper and it was way too hot on our floor and in our room that couldnt be adjusted. My wife was accosted by a drunk person at their bar and when we told the front desk, they said the person was drunk. We had to watch for the person and then ran to the elevator to go to our room to avoid sharing an elevator with that person. These are expensive rooms plus we had our kids there so was expecting better security.

Soap dispenser in the room was empty many soup dispensers in public bathrooms were empty, the food for the convention provided by hotel was cold and terrible The audio-visual equipment that was supplied by the hotel was inadequate didn't work correctly and wasn't the right stuff.

This property used to be one of the nicest hotels in San marcos and now it seems that it has been let go. The room smelled of wet carpet and rhe floors in the halls were dirty. The property lacks maintenance on the seperate floors you can see where a little bit of paint could fix some defects.
