Welcome to La Casita de Río Grande, your private retreat in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico! Nestled within 8 acres of the El Yunque Rainforest, this serene 2-bedroom, 1-bathroom home offers exclusive access to a tranquil river that winds through the lush landscape. Relax by the fire pit with outdoor seating, dine on the terrace under a pergola, and enjoy modern comforts like a flat-screen TV, wireless internet, and comfy beds. La Casita comfortably sleeps 4 guests in a king bed in the master bedroom and a queen in the second bedroom. Just a 27-44 min drive from San Juan Airport, this nature lover's paradise is the perfect escape to unwind and immerse yourself in the island's natural beauty while still being able to easily access the city and the beach.

LIVING AREA



Inside, the home boasts a bright and airy atmosphere, with stylish furnishings and thoughtful touches that create a warm and welcoming environment. The interior décor of La Casita complements the natural beauty outside, making it an ideal spot for unwinding and connecting with nature. Once you enter the property, the living room is right in front of you. It features a cozy sofa and a flat-screen TV, perfect for enjoying your favorite shows. To your left, you will have the modern and fully equipped kitchen with the dining room next to it.





OUTDOOR SPACES



Whether you're lounging on the terrace or exploring the nearby river, this property offers an amazing outdoor experience. The outdoor living space is a standout feature, with a cozy, covered terrace complete with comfortable seating and vibrant décor, and an outdoor fire pit to enjoy endless conversations and create wonderful memories with your group.





SLEEPING ARRANGEMENTS



La Casita has two bedrooms. The master bedroom has a king bed, and the second bedroom has a queen bed. Both bedrooms have air conditioning and blackout curtains. The master bedroom has a nightstand, and a separate seating area with two armchairs. The second bedroom has a dedicated workstation (desk and chair), an armchair, a full-body mirror, and a dresser. The property has one full bathroom with shower.



PACK AND PLAY (SUBJECT TO AVAILABILITY):



We can leave a complimentary Pack and Play at the property upon request. This should be requested upon booking or no later than 5 days before arrival. Pack and Plays are subject to availability.





KITCHEN



La Casita has a top-notch kitchen! The marbled stone countertops and modern white cabinets give it a truly sleek look. The kitchen has beautiful new cabinetry and is stocked with cooking pots and pans. It also has a full-size refrigerator, a microwave, a stovetop, a toaster oven, and a coffee maker. The dining table with 4 chairs is right next to the kitchen.





GETTING AROUND & PARKING



The property has parking for up to two (2) vehicles.



Renting a car is a must when staying at Rio Grande. There are many activities within a 15-30 minutes and the roads are easy to navigate. Also, Ubers are not readily available in the area and must not be relied on.

There are many things to do in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico. Here are our top picks that you will be sure to enjoy during your stay:



Explore the lush and exotic El Yunque, the only rainforest under US Flagship. We can help you plan a hike or participate in a zip-line adventure.



Experience the glowing waters on a night kayak tour in the bioluminescent bay in Fajardo.



Taste the local flavors at the staple kiosks in nearby Luquillo – right next to the beach.



Go on horseback or a four-track ride off the beaten path in Carabali Rainforest Park.

STARTER AMENITIES



At West Indies Vacation Rentals, we strive to provide top-notch amenities, ensuring our guests feel at home during their stay.



All properties come with freshly laundered bed linens and towels. We provide 2 bath towels per guest and 1 beach towel per guest.



We provide a set of disposable essentials to help you get your vacation started comfortably. These include:



- 1 set of hotel-size soap and shampoo (per bathroom)

- 3 garbage bags

- 1 roll of paper towels

- 2 rolls of toilet paper (per bathroom)

- 1 dish soap

- 1 dish sponge



Please note that we do not provide unlimited disposable amenities. It is the guest’s responsibility to review what is included in the property and stock any additional items needed for the duration of the stay.



Most properties also include at least 2 beach chairs and an ice cooler. You may reach out to us 5 days before arrival for confirmation.





HOUSE RULES



RENTAL AGREEMENT: All bookings require a signed Short-Term Rental Agreement, which will be sent upon confirmation of your reservation. Guests must upload a valid photo ID (no selfies) that matches the name on the credit card used for the booking. The agreement must be signed within 48 hours of booking or prior to entering the property, whichever comes first. Check-in instructions will not be provided until the agreement is completed.



NO SMOKING: Smoking is not permitted anywhere on the property. A $500 smoking fee will be charged if this rule is violated.



NO PETS: While we are pet lovers, pets are not permitted at the property at any time. A $300 fine will be charged if this rule is violated, and guests may be asked to leave the property.



QUIET HOURS: Quiet hours are from 10:00 PM to 8:00 AM. Please be mindful of noise during these hours out of respect for nearby residents/neighbors.



UTILITIES (WATER & ELECTRICITY): In the event of an interruption to water or electrical service, the host is not responsible for hotel, alternate lodging, or transportation expenses. If service is interrupted for more than 3 hours, guests may cancel the reservation and request a refund for unused nights only. Nights already used are non-refundable.



MAXIMUM OCCUPANCY: The maximum occupancy is 4 adults/children at all times, including visitors.



OCCUPANCY ENFORCEMENT: Occupancy limits are strictly enforced. Exceeding the maximum occupancy may result in immediate cancellation of the reservation or removal from the property without refund.



TOWELS & LINENS: Towels and linens are provided for normal use only. Please do not use them for cleaning or allow them to be stained with food, grease, or other substances. Charges may apply for damaged or stained items.



TOWEL HANGING: Please do not hang towels or any other items to dry in areas visible from outside the unit. A $100 community fine may apply if this rule is violated.



SUBLETTING: Subletting or re-renting the property is not permitted.





CHECK-IN / CHECK-OUT TIMES



Check-in begins at 4:00 PM, and since this is a self-check-in unit, you can arrive anytime after that.



If you’d like to check in earlier, please contact us the day before your arrival, and we’ll confirm availability. When possible, early check-in typically starts around 11:00 AM. Please note that early check-in is subject to availability and depends on our cleaning schedule.



If you need a guaranteed early check-in, you will need to book from the night prior to ensure the property is ready upon your arrival.



Check-out time is at 11:00 AM. For late check-out requests, please reach out the day before your departure, and we’ll be happy to check availability for you.





TRAVEL INSURANCE / HURRICANE SEASON



We strongly recommend that all guests purchase travel insurance, not only during the peak months of Hurricane Season (July to October) but also throughout the year to cover unexpected events such as travel delays, pandemics, or other unforeseen issues.



Travel insurance is inexpensive and can reimburse travelers for most expenses associated with canceling travel outside of the cancellation window; however, coverage will depend on the policy purchased. Make sure to review and understand the options before purchase.
