Romantic oasis in the forest
A fantastic calm and romantic oasis in the middle of the forest, with a welcoming and helpful staff serving nice drinks and food. The beautiful colourful area is surrounded by birds and a breathtaking ocean view, leaving lots of room for romance. There were insects in the hotel unfortunately, as an unavoidable consequence of the forest location and the road up to the hotel was a bit tricky because of the rain season, but the local taxi drivers handled it well. The hostess was very calm and comfortable.

Rolig og fint hotell
Jeg syntes hotellet var veldig fint, og eierene var veldig hyggelige og behjelpelige. Utsikten var nydelig og det var godt at det var stille og behagelig. Det eneste som var litt negativ var at det lå litt utenfor byen og når det ikke var muligheter for å bestille lunsj på hotellet hadde det vært fint å kunne hatt et lite kjøleskap på rommet.

Helg på hotellet El Jardin
Hotellet har en fantastisk beliggenhet litt oppi åsen med havutsikt og muligheten til en idyllisk solnedgang. Du kan ta deg en drink eller et måltid i uterestutanten mens du ser at solen går ned i havet. Maten var god, og servicen var helt på topp. De som driver det gjorde alt for at vi skulle føle oss velkomne og ha et hyggelig opphold. På grunn av det ligger litt oppi åsen er det ca 7 min til sentrum. Eierne av hotellet kjørte oss med en gang, og hentet oss hvis vi ville det. Anbefales sterkt om en havner på stillehavskysten i Nicaragua og trenger en avslappende helg i rolige omgivelser!

Disappointed
Upon checking in my card was swiped for a charge less than the hotels.com price that I paid earlier in the month..when questioned I got no answer. Sheets were scuffed and stained and just placed on the mattress. On our last night someone left a tap running in a room on the same level as us. Room 7, and I woke up at 1030pm to a flooded room with half an inch of water that had soaked my computer bag. Managed to track down the nite manager who I helped clean up the wet floors with mops, broom and towels. The next day when I checked out there was no attempt by any of the staff to acknowledge or apologize for what had happened. I was then charged for supplemental food as expected. When I returned to pick up my bags I was then told they had shorted me the bill and i still owed 12, more. One would think that all the inconvenience of a flooded bedroom would have at least warranted some sort credit but nothing was offered. Instead I just received a glazed look and an additional bill. Not surprised this property is for sale !!!!! I will never return.

Happened to stay while the owner was visiting, he was very cordial. The road leading up to the property was a bit rough, which I didn’t expect in my (cheap) rented sedan. But the staff overall was very friendly. The shower was hot (something I’ve struggled to find in Nicaragua). The traditional nica breakfast was good. The room was great and the view was even better! Were definitely satisfied overall and would recommend to anyone visiting San Juan del Sur

Lovely place, a bit out of the way. Rooms are small, and not that comfortable. The place is very noisy and you can hear the people next door talking. The view and pool are spectacular. The food was very good.

The view and the pool is amazing. The stuff also is friendly and a free parking spot is also available. The breakfast is delicious and combined with the view definitely a highlight. The room was a bit too much basic and there was no hot water in the shower. Also no power outlet in the bathroom which made some things a bit difficult. The room could be a bit more beautiful. Overall it was ok amd we enjoyed our stay

We did not stay and are cancelling our transaction. The name says Hotel and Restaurant but there is no restaurant. The road up to the hotel is only passable with a heavy duty vehicle.

We are sorry that you feel this way, we value and respect your opinion, but we would like to clarify that you saw the restaurant, we explained that we close it one day a week (the app says so too) even so the kitchen staff was called especially for you . Also, as I told you that day, the state of the road was due to the recent hurricane (it has been repaired). In any case, it was a pleasure to serve you even briefly. Best regards!

Very good hotel. I love how Raiza waited for us until late around midnight. She was very helpful, kind with hotel directions and I loved our room amazing view and the hotel, the breakfast was so yummy. The only thing was it’s spring the pool needed to be more clean we found several flowers folding and bees but over all hotel was excellent, clean and with an gorgeous view to the ocean. We can wait to visit again. I highly recommend this hotel El Jardin.! Thank you Ivy U. Possekel

Amazing views, great food, clean rooms, and very helpful staff! Even though it is a little out of town, taking a taxi is very easy (their driver Alex is awesome) and worth it. Thank you El Jardin for such a great experience!

Had many issues with Davide.. manager. He was not truthful about meal and bar costs... not one staff person showed or opened restaurant till after 7:30 am. Was told they would do our laundry for a fee and would be ready next morning. NOT ready by 8:30( when we were leaving) and told the dryer wasn’t working.. left with soaking wet clothes. Sat on bench on deck which collapsed under me...luckily not hurt. All said ...Davide should not be managing this hotel.

Gracias por sus comentarios, nos encontramos en una zona de playas muy boscosas y llena de vida, el contacto con la fauna local es inevitable y mantenerlos a raya es todo un reto, sin embargo comprendemos que no todos los viajeros están acostumbrados a esto, por eso tomamos muy en serio las opiniones, gracias a estas podemos mejorar. Nos complace comentarle que después de un mes de pruebas la habitación está completamente sana, aunque lamento que haya tenido que irse tan temprano, espero que la cena gratis haya sido de su agrado. Saludos cordiales.

It was a long way from town. The service was great, however, the prices at the bar and restaurant were astronomical. We paid $8 for shots of well vodkas. Unbelieveable!!!

Thank you so much for you comment, we are at just ten minutes away of town, and it is definitely a long way walking, a better walking option is going by the beach when the tide is low, it’s amazing! Our Bartender is new he should have served some flor de caña shut.

Room rented from hôtel. Com only in the back with 0 view and almost no air conditionning. They try To charge us an extra 80$us To have a room with a view. Lot of better option in the après.

El Jardin Hotel & Restaurant - Best place ever
We visited El Jardin in February 2018, and it was a great vacation. The hotel staff was exceptional, and they went out of there way to make our stay fantastic. Everything on the menu is exceptional, and we nearly tried everything. It's about 10 minutes from San Juan Del Sur, and a $5.00 cab ride. We hope to be back soon, and definitely are returning to El Jardin.

We will definitely be back
Oh my...it was good. Above the noise and clatter of San Juan del Sur, it was a wonderful oasis. We really would not have had to leave. The service was wonderful and the restaurant is more than wonderful. AND the view was truly life-giving. Can you tell we loved it? It is a ways to anything else, but if you have a car, it is no problem. We understand that there were regular shuttles,so even if you didn’t have a car, you should be able to get around. We booked this as a two-day Sabbath during a business trip, and left revived, well-fed and ready to go back to life. We will definitely be back.

Amazing hotel, beautiful views, spectatcular food
What a amazing experience it was to stay at El Jardin, the view is breathtaking, the food in the restraunt is delicious. Also the breakfast thats included is amazing..not just cereal and toast but ordered hot food (crepes, bacon, eggs). We were more then thrilled to stay here for the entire week. The dog pandora is such a beauty, smart and so kind. The owners are fabulous. so kind and caring. What a gem this hotel is! and far enough from town that its relaxing but only $5 taxi to centro of San juan del sur. Cant praise this hotel enough. Thanks agagin, see you agagin soon love from Canada.

Great location and accomodations
The hotel was located in a more quiet location than the main town area. Accommodations were great for the price and included a plentiful breakfast, free daily shuttle to town, access to pool. Great view of the bay!

Nice quiet hotel with great view
We were charged $15 cab fare from downtown SJDS (one way) to the hotel. If you plan on going back and forth between the hotel and town, the expense may add up. Hotel offers a morning shuttle into town, but cab fare may still be something to take into consideration. Breakfast is included in price and helps offset the cost. The room had a great view and large private balcony. If you are looking for a safe and quiet hotel away from town, you will be happy here.

Loved our stay an El Jardin
We loved our stay here. The views were incredible and the staff/service were very good. The rooms were comfortable, clean and beautifully designed to suit the building architecture. The food in the restaurant was also very good. Breakfasts are fantastic. For dinner, I enjoyed many of the menu items which were all very good. I would recommend the pesto pasta...perfect amount of flavour and seasoning/herbs. The pool is also refreshing to dip into on the very very hot days. This place is a little paradise.

Relax in a hillside boutique hotel with bay view
I was looking for a comfortable hotel in or near San Juan del Sur, Nicaragua. I found exactly that with El Jardin Restaurant and Hotel. I was able to book an affordable package trip there for 10 nights with round trip fare from San Francisco, California. The staff was relaxed, warm, and helpful. The atmosphere was totally congenial. The full breakfasts that were included with the room reservation were good-sized and offered variety, from granola with yoghurt to crepes to eggs, with always fresh squeezed juice, fruits, and great Nicaraguan coffee. i could not have been happier with my experience. It was a perfect week's rest and relaxation. Swimming laps in the pool each day and lying in the tropical sun chased away the winter blues. Great little friendly hotel where you can chill and make friends. Totally recommend!

This hotel was a little bit of a drive but I felt
The staff was Wondeful, I view worth a million, the food was good, little over priced but good. But it was well worth the drive. It was alittle bit of a drive, and on a dirt road, get there during the day to understand the dirt road drive. Taxis are available from town to the hotel. I would definitely stay there again.

Lovely spot
A beautiful little hotel in the hills, overlooking the ocean. A nice swimming pool with lots of flowers and plants around, a great place to relax and enjoy the scenery. Staff were all friendly and helpful, and the food in the restaurant was the best I ate in Nicaragua.
