Spotless room, kind of like a suite. The rooms are in a building that is also the men's dormitory (the students are on the 4th & 5th floor, the rooms are on the 1st and 2nd, I think). It had a couch, a little table and chairs, 2 twin beds, a shower, a bathroom, 2 sinks. Its decor was very simple/functional, but it had everything I needed and felt safe. It was quiet.
The people at the front desk were very kind and helpful.
The building itself is deep inside campus. When you follow the directions to the Hostal, it brings you to the campus gate. The security guard will give you directions to the hostel building itself. This wasn't obvious to me, so I was confused at first and went looking on my own (in my car), but didn't go far enough. So stop and ask.
The entrance to the university campus is within walking distance to the town center, but the hostel is another 10 minutes walk (I would guess) after you reach the gate.
