Stanton Residence - Downtown Victorian Classic

Summary:
Located just east of downtown San Diego, perched on the hill you'll enjoy this 1893 victorian home with all its charm. The home is 1,500 SF with 3 bedrooms, 1 parlor/tv room, and 2 bathrooms. High ceilings throughout and plenty of space family and friends. Completely remodeled in 2022, you'll have everything you need for a cozy and comfortable stay. In the evening, you'll learn how "golden hills" got its name as you watch the sunset light up the living room and the night skyline come to life.

The Space:
Each room is unique and tailored specifically to that room. The beds are all medium firm 10" memory foam, plenty of pillows, and lots of warm colors. My wife is an amazing interior designer and each piece was picked with care to create a little historic feel with a lot of comfort. We even found some old news papers in the wall during this remodel that we've hung in the hallway which will take you back in time! Out front we welcome you to enjoy the evening on the porch rocking chairs with a glass of wine or craft beer of choice!

Guest Access:
3 car gated parking is available as well as plenty of street parking. Best advice is to leave the rental at home. Everything is so close to this location that at most you'll be spending 10 minutes to get to major attractions like Balboa Park, San Diego Zoo, Convention Center, Petco Park, Little Italy, etc.

Other Things to Note:
We have long term tenants in a separate house in the back as well as a loft above the house on the roof. You do not share the driveway, your front porch or garden in the front. There is a walk way that the back tenants use to get access to street

Interaction with Guests:
I like to be as helpful as I can be, but this is your home while you're here. We've made this a very welcoming environment and hope to make your stay enjoyable as best as possible.

Perfect for work colleagues

Great place for me and my two coworkers to stay for a conference at the convention center. Ubers were about 10 to and from the convention and it was quick and easy. Bedrooms are spread apart so everyone had privacy. Kitchen was well stocked with oils, spices, and coffee. Highly recommend!

Charming, clean, close to downtown

This property was perfect for our stay. We were in town for business at the Convention Center. Easy 10 Uber ride to the convention center. Starbucks close by. The home was beautifully decorated!! Very Charming! We loved having morning coffee on the front porch. Plenty of room, great clean bathrooms, super comfy beds, well equipped kitchen. Just perfect! I would definitely stay here again!!

Family Holiday trip

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Kevin and Kendra's beautiful property. The home was exactly as pictured, with thoughtful touches that made our visit extra special. Its central location added to the convenience to explore many attractions in the San Diego area. Communication with the hosts was smooth and we especially valued their comprehensive website, which provided clear details about check-in and check-out procedures, parking, house rules, and recommendations for nearby restaurants and activities. The book detailing the history of the property provided some fascinating insight into the home, and ultimately gave us a deeper understanding of its uniqueness. If we visit San Diego again, we’ll definitely book this place!

Family trip

House is so beautifully decorated in and out, very clean hostes was always asking if we needed anything or if everything was ok. Unfortunately we couldn't use the balcony with an amazing view because was not a part of the rented area. But everything is very near fron there recreation areas, zoo, beaches,parks. We had an amazing vacations and loved to stay there anytime I go back there me and all the members of my family were very happy with the house.

Memorial Day visit

This beautifully restored and professionally decorated Italianate Victorian cottage comfortably suited our family well for several days. It is centrally located between the city, Petco Park, Balboa Park and Old Town. Thoroughly enjoyed our visit and will book again upon our return to San Diego.

An excellent property

This home is impeccably well maintained, a good size to accommodate multiple people comfortably but also comfortable and quaint! We were very impressed by beautiful decor mix of modern vintage to elevate the historic nature of the home. The beds were very comfortable - they chose quality mattresses and bedding. A fun area to walk around and appreciate the older house architecture. Do take note of the cancellation/refund policy - we unfortunately lost 2/3 nights here due to travel delays and couldn't enjoy the property to its fullest. Hope to stay longer next time!

Clean and comfortable stay in San Diego

Beautifully decorated house with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Close to downtown, Balboa park and the Zoo but still far enough from the bustle. 15 Minute drive to La Jolla beach. Well stocked kitchen, plenty of luxury towels in the bathroom. Walked to Panchita's bakery every morning for fresh pastries. Neighborhood felt very safe.

Amazing house in the perfect location

This house is perfection! Perfect location, super clean, spacious, and well stocked. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay during our time in San Diego with our 3 young kids! The host, Kevin, was attentive and very helpful which made our stay even better! 10/10 would recommend and will be staying here again when we return!

The best

We loved Kevin and Kendra’s home in San Diego. It was comfortable, warm, and had all of the amenities you could ask for! We ubered most places. We never waited more than 10 minutes and were convenient to everywhere we wanted to go. We walked to Influx Cafe for breakfast, and Panchitos for pastries, and Luigi’s for pizza by the slice. Krisp is also within walking distance. A very nice high end grocery and liquor store. Everyone in my group LOVED this property and would not hesitate to stay again.

Quaint, Immaculate, Accommodating, Perfect!!

Six adults stayed here for a 6 day vacation. It was perfect! The house was immaculately clean and the beds were all very comfortable. Bathrooms were spotless too. Kitchen was excellent. Would highly recommend. Safe neighborhood. It was the perfect set up for our family. Very close to all downtown activities; the zoo; Coronado, La Jolla. We hit it all with some very short drives.

Loved this house!

This house is amazing. Our host were amazing. The neighborhood is amazing! We were 10 minutes from Coronado. We walked to petco park for a padre game. We walked to coffee every morning. The house is old but updated. The bedrooms are spaced out and they have an extra sitting area. We felt at home and it was roomy and beautiful decorated. I would stay again and would recommend it. We had no issues. Our host was very responsive to any need.

Gorgeous home and attentive hosts

Kendra and Kevin communicated quickly when my group needed a last minute place to stay for my friends bachelorette and were super helpful! The property is gorgeous and offered lots of space so everyone was able to spread out when getting ready/going to bed. Beds were comfortable. Great kitchen, dining, and louge areas too. We really enjoyed staying here and are still talking about how cute this place is. The only con is if you are a light sleeper... Just be aware that this is an older property, right off the street, and near the airport. So if you are a light sleeper, make sure you snag a room in the back of the home!

perfect home for our stay

the home is beautiful and so nicely decorated. it’s welcoming and clean and very comfortable. the church down from the house had some early morning landscaping being done that got us up bright and early but that’s just luck and no fault of the home owners. it was very easy to follow the instructions and there were many nice details such as coffee and olive oil ready for our use. i loved loved the high ceilings and the bathrooms were fantastic ! so happy with our choice to i stay here.!
