Bathroom walls, vanity walls dirty. Faucet falling apart. Curtain coming apart. There isn't someone at desk ask the time. Have to wait for them.

We loved the cheap price, early check-in w/out fee, & the warm helpful friendly receptionist who was very helpful in every eay possible. The only thing we didn't like was homeless who lingered around the area. Other then that we would definitely stay there again

The room smelled of cigarette smoke a strong smell that lingered. In the stairwell, they appeared to be human feces Generally, the property looks a little bit unkempt. Several unhoused people hanging around the area. The free breakfast was disappointing Would have been a little better if they had at least some eggs

Really was an good place to stay. Close to everything food, shopping, beaches and especially close to the MCRD which was great. Would most definitely stay there again.

There were people living I guess in the room next door and in midnight they figth and scream so loud we couldn’t sleep in two days until we ask for another room , the hotel make a change and gave us another room a little more clean too then the other .

The property itself is good and the staff were excellent. But the homelessness is a problem. It’s Cali though, not just a San Diego issue.

My family and I stay here once a year for our anual vacation. We have never been disappointed, the room felt clean and confortable. Great location close to sea world.

First room was dirty. Plastic bagging on lamp, other room had some Marijuana ledt on top of cabinet. Breakfast was ok. Says the have exercise room. They do not. Location was good for zoo and sea world.

It’s an old a school HoJo’s. In the heart of the red light district, this old gem is compete with the ‘70s motel vibe. If you come late there is a window for your key but check it twice as it most likely won’t work. The shower dripped all night and if you want some water of coffee after hours- tough luck!

It was to bad service an the property old and the door for the room hard to close properly. I feel so uncomfortable with homeless around the property the unit or room it was too old inside so back experience on the service hotel. Definitely, I don’t recommend to anybody. is too expensive for these hotel.

DO NOT STAY HERE.
Bad neighborhood, and hotel needs to be torn down. The 1st room had shoes in it, food in fridge, and fresh meal on the table, and garbage on the floor. They gave us another room, and the bathroom ceiling contained mold. Light switch did not work, outlets did not hold the items plugged in. Nightstand had a clock but no outlet to plug it in. Tub stained. The room was overall filthy. The lock on the 2nd room did not work properly, and had to get someone to let us in. Pictures on website must be 20 years old. The maid tried to come in at 9 a.m. w/o knocking, but I had a chair blocking the door for safety.

What I don’t like about this property is that they were some outlets that they were not working. From the whole room I will say that only three were working properly. Besides that everything was good.

Being a seasoned traveler, I’m always looking for a good hotel to stay at that won’t break the bank. Howard Johnson’s by Wyndham in the midway district of San Diego is just such property. As soon as you arrive you’re greeted by a professional and knowledgeable front desk staff that makes checking in easy. There’s plenty of offstreet parking if you decide to rent a vehicle. Upon getting into the room spacious and has everything you need for your stay; specifically, big screen TV, refrigerator, microwave, iron and ironing board, Walgreens, all the toiletries that One would need. The bed was very comfortable and it had a heater and air conditioner depending on the season. There is a pool, ice, machine and laundry, facility on grounds, as well as a small business center. Did I mention that they have a continental breakfast daily, including a waffle station that will get you on your way in good form. So if you’re looking for a great hotel, that’s centrally located to major attractions within the San Diego area look no further than Howard Johnsons By Wyndham!
