I had a very frustrating experience staying at WoodSpring Suites Colton and would not recommend this location.
I booked and prepaid for my stay through Expedia with no issues on my end. At check-in, the hotel charged a $100 deposit for incidentals, which is standard. However, at checkout, I was told the hotel had only received $4 from Expedia and that they might keep my $100 deposit unless additional payment was collected.
This is completely unacceptable. I already paid in full through Expedia, and any billing issues between the hotel and Expedia should never fall on the customer. Holding a deposit meant for damages as leverage for their internal billing problem is unprofessional.
I contacted Expedia, and they confirmed they reached out to the hotel and resolved the issue, stating the hotel had outdated or incorrect billing information on file. Again, this was entirely a hotel-side issue. Despite that, it has now been four days since checkout, and my $100 deposit is still pending and has not been released. I have also tried calling the hotel multiple times with no answer.
On top of the billing problems, the overall stay itself was disappointing. The cleanliness was below standard—towels had visible stains, there was sticky residue on surfaces like counters and light fixtures, and the room did not feel properly cleaned. The AC unit was loud and disruptive, and the bed was uncomfortable.
